Secure Home, Locksmith & Safety Services LLC
Sal returned my call quickly to set up an appointment and asked if it was urgent (it wasn't). Brennan came out 2 days later to re-key the locks and offered to check my smoke detectors which I knew needed to be replaced. Since he had the smoke detectors in the van he was able to replace them very quickly. He also repaired the glass door hinge for no extra charge. He used shoe covers when entering the house. I'm planning to use them again to install a DIY alarm system once I purchase. If you need a locksmith do not hesitate to contact them. I'm very happy with their service and their prices are very reasonable.

All was fine until remote devices connected to the security system stopped working and they wanted to charge me another $75/hr to troubleshoot the issue..  I had great respect for this company and owners until this occurred and I feel the work completed at $550 should have included a better warranty if something happened within 30 days. Very disappointed at Brandon's attitude about resolving the issue and another problem they fixed at my home failed within a month.  Beware as I feel they are only in this business for the money and not good customer service or follow up after work completion..  Failed to educate me on how mobile devices were connected to the security system and then wanted to charge me more money to resolve the issuce when they falied within 30 days.  I would never use or recommend this company.

It went well.  They were good in monitoring.  It's a cellular system so you need a telephone line.  You have apps in your phones where you can disarm or am the system.  You see time coordination if you have alarm that goes off or lose control that modifies you immediately.  You also have cameras, smoke alarms, and entry point detector.  I like everything about them.  They're the lowest in the business for what services you get.

    Blue Ridge Security Solutions
The good: the system is monitored locally, not halfway across the world. The salesperson was professional and prompt. The technicians called to say they were running about half an hour behind for installation, and we appreciate them calling.

The average: it took awhile to schedule the installation, which we wanted completed before a trip out west. Fortunately we were able to schedule one week before we left, but it was still several weeks after we met with the sales representative. Also, the system kept giving false alerts from the front door. They had used the wiring from our previous system, and there was a problem no one knew about. We had to go about a week without being able to use the system until a technician could get to us to rewire it. It has been fine since then.

The bad: two things do not work well. The smart phone/iPad app that is supposed to activate and deactivate the system is pathetic. It is a third-party app, not a Blue Ridge Security app. I hope they can come up with something better. Don't waste your money on the app. Also, the app is supposed to turn lights on and off wirelessly. Again, it does not work consistently (actually, it works rarely). The second time we had a technician come out, he said that the primary outlet that they use for lights is defective and the company that makes them were supposed to start shipping replacements the following week. That was several weeks ago, and we have not heard anything yet.

    Guardian Protection
The Alarm System was "Free" because it was installed as Part of Ryan Homes services offered.  However, while Ryan was responsible and excellent, Guardian Protection is not.

Guardian has sales offices in Greenville, SC but their technical people are in Charlotte..... therefore even when the alarm was under warranty tried to bill me for $150.... for a service call I believe it was travel time... Ryan had to intervene.  Sorry but a company is only Excellent when it stands behind it's service and product.

If the company wants to do business in Greenville I suggest they have technical people in Greenville to support their product.  They do maintain a Sales office however that tells me after they lock you in for three years they don't care what happens to you.

In addition the system was not "Free"  the three year contract locked you in for approximately $30 per month over a local reputable company.

The system was already installed in our home when we purchased it, so Protec came out, inspected it, and ever since we have stayed with them and had them monitor our home. We have not once had the alarm go off for any reason. I would not use another alarm company over Protec. They are highly rated in the area and I have heard nothing but good things about them.

Protec installed our alarm system about seven years ago and has been monitoring it ever since. They do service calls if needed, but no regular inspections. They are open 24/7 and can be counted on in any emergency.
