    Smith, Dr. Jeffrey K.
This doctor is very sad.  He has no social skills and does not look you in the eyes when he talks to you.  Maybe he is very shy?  I always made an early appointment as he told me he wanted to be free in the afternoons, so he could be involved in his children's activities.
One of my neighbors told me that he made an appointment in the afternoon and Dr Smith did not keep the appointment.  The neighbor told me that the staff had no explanation except that Dr Smith had left for the day.
I would try to talk to him about how I was feeling.  Then, if there was a negative change since my last appointment, I would ask him whether there should be a change in my medications.  Ninety nine percent of the time, he would tell me that he thought it would be better to stay with medications I was currently taking as "sometimes it takes awhile for meds to kick in", "let's wait a while longer", etc.  His replies to any depression changes followed the same pattern.  I did not feel that he was listening to what I told him. I felt as if he had written down 10 answers that meant the same thing and then he would pick one of them, according to which answer he had used the last time I had made that complaint.
Anytime, I told him that my stress levels had elevated or my mother was ill or anything personal that was affecting my depression or anxiety he totally ignored what I had said.  He did not reply.  I quickly learned that he only wanted to know the level of my depression or anxiety. There was only one time that I was in his office more than 10 minutes.  On that visit I was in his office 14 minutes.  I spent more time checking in and out with his staff than I did with him.
I pray that he is receiving help with his problems.  When I was seeing him, sometimes I would be very angry with him.  However, now that I have found a psychiatrist who does care and does listen, all I feel for him now is pity.

We worked a long time to figure things out but he stuck with me and literally saved my life. I would definitely recommed him to others. He is very open minded and llistens to what you have to say.

I would recommend them to others. I would rate them highly, particularly my therapist. Also, at one point, I had seen a psychiatrist there, but that wasn't a great experience, but I still go back there to see my therapist. I would go there again in the future.

It wasn’t a great experience. I would not recommend him to others. He did not like to be questioned. When I would go there, he would just dispense the medicine and ask how it was working for me, and when I would tell him about it, he would ask me to be on the medicine for some more time and then he would change it next. He was basically like my drug dispenser. I was on medication for mental problems, which really came from my MS, and sometimes when it doesn’t work well, he would put me on another medication. Then, I had my general doctors and my neurologist, and when said the same symptoms to them and told them about the medication he had prescribed for me, they said those symptoms were from the medication from Dr. Smith. When I went back to him and said what my other doctors said about his medication, he said if I felt the need to question him, I could leave and said he could not be my doctor anymore. I really didn’t understand at the beginning, but now I understand the difference between a therapist and a psychiatrist, and it is a big difference. I would have left going to him a long time ago, but it was very difficult as I had no choice and didn’t have anybody else to talk to other than him. My therapist then realized I didn’t get what I needed and he referred me to another practice. I am no longer going to him, and I would not go to him again in the future.

I had to stop seeing him because I couldn't drive that far for the visits. He was pretty good. He was very compassionate, understanding ,and the best listener I ever came across. He made you feel heard. I wasn't thrilled with his staff.
