    Andy always responded promptly to my calls or texts.  had never had furniture recovered before. Andy explained  the process and gave several suggestions regarding places where I could buy material. After I bought the material, I contacted him. The furniture was picked up in a timely manner and delivered in a timely  manner, also. Andy called or texted When the truck was on the way. The young men who picked up and deilvered the furniture were polite and helpful. I would definitely use this company again.

    The piano man showed up at my house right on time for the schedule appointment.  He tuned my wife's 107 year old piano we bought on craigslist and did a fantastic job all at a very reasonable price.  I recommend and would use him again in the future.

Since there was not any hurry before the holidays, I told Bobby and his wife that there was no rush and anytime after the holidays would be fine. They completed the work and the chairs were delivered on 12/28. They were professional, respectful and a pleasure to work with.

    Well-Loved Piano
    I didn't realize the piano needed to be stabilized but when he showed me the pitch differential from A440 I had him stabilize it before tuning it. Also didn't know a piano's interior had to be cleaned (don't remember ever having done this) but now I know!  Having these other two services increased my price over what I had hoped it would be.
    He spent over 3 hours here and it now sounds great!

    Well-Loved Piano
    During his visit which took about 2 hours to accomplish BOTH adjustments to the piano, we had a discussion about HUMIDITY in the house which he said greatly impacted pianos. Ideal level being about 42% relative humidity.
    We have had an older model dehumidifier for many years (dial set control 1-9) which would remove 2-3 gallons per week. Because of the age of this unit we bought a new digital DeLonghi unit about a year ago which continuously monitors the humidity level and controls + or -5% around a set point. Since buying it, I have been using a 50% RH set point removing 8-10 gallons of water a week & sometimes 2.5 gallons a day when it is raining daily. I have lowered the set point to 45% (40%-50% control range) since his visit.
    Mr. Barnes was very professional and gave us insights for better care of the piano which was built in 1959. We plan to monitor the condition of the piano during the coming year and plan to have a retune after a year to see how much change has occurred. I do expect some change because of the lower humidity and because SO MUCH had to be done on this visit.
    Interesting to note that Tim seemed to do the job swiftly and with ease in 2 hours. The tuning a few years ago was done by another person who DID NOT mention pitch adjustment to us and struggled with the piano for about 4 hours before declaring the job done. We will definitely be using Barnes Piano to care for our piano in the coming years.

    The Antique Clock Shop
    After experiencing recurring & related expensive problems w/ our GrandFather Clock using the same repairman in our area, I decided to find someone else. After calling most clock repair providers in the Rock HIll / Charlotte region I spoke w/ a Lady by the name of Kristen Devine @ The Antique Clock Shop. She is the Daughter of Kemp Heinbaugh who is the Clock Repair Specialist. She was a ' real ' person w/ obvious Customer Service Skills. She listened to my problems & quotes that I was given for repair by my current repairman & others that I had called. Kristen assured me that Her Father, Kemp, would take a look w/ his many years of experience and fix the problem once and for all @ a reasonable price. Once I explained what I had been paying the ' Other Guy ' they both said that his fees were ridiculous & later discovered that he had not performed all the services he had charged for. Mr Heinbaugh came to my home & diagnosed the issues w/ our aging Clock in a kind & no nonsense manner that made you feel very comfortable. What he said made sense & his estimate and final charges were less than half of what I was quoted by the ' Other Guy '. After ordering parts & repairing the GrandFather Clock The Antique Clock Shop has backed up their repairs w/ a two year unlimited warranty. I cannot recommend them highly enough. I only wished I had called them first over four years ago. Also in a very unscientific testament; my dog Maximus, who doesn't like anybody, loved Kemp. Thank you Kristen & Mr Kemp Heinbaugh !

    We were looking for someone to fix the wood base, replace the cushion,and recover a 1970's club chair with all new fabric and found Bobby's Upholstery on Angies List. The final cost was exactly what they quoted. The workmanship was excellent. The chair looks and feels like a brand new chair. Will definately call on them again. Great Job!

    The service was excellent and will refer Byrum to my family and friends in addition to using them again.  The pillows that were with the old sofa do not match the new sofa.  I will be looking for new fabric and taking the pillows to Byrum's.

    I bought a new washer/dryer set which was extremely noise.  I do not mean the normal noise of settling a load the new machines make.  This was loud enough to interfere with conversation and draw comments from visitors about what that noise was. On the very first load,  I immediately called the store to report the noise, but the woman said she didn't know anything.  I then called the service rep listed in the appliance  brochure.  He listened and said it wasn't supposed to make that noise and the unit should be replaced.  I called the store again and was told they would send a service person but non of this was their problem.

    The repairman said it was normal and tightened the leaking hose.  I could hear the machine when I was upstairs in my office.  Consequently, I called the store again and was told they would do nothing.  Later the woman called and siad they would take the set back and send me an Amana set for another $107.  They did that, but the units were not boxed when they arrived.  I should have suspected something, but I believed they were trying to help.  When the dryer was turned on, it made a terrible thumping sound.  The delivery man called the store for permission to take the unit apart and fix it.  At that point, I should have known something was seriously wrong, but again, I trusted it would be okay.   He fixed the dryer and left.

    That night I tried to wash a load of clothes.  The washer made incredible noises and slung water from under the lid and out the top of the machine to the pooint that it dripped down the front and sides and made puddles on the floor.  We turned the machineoff and pulled it out.  The side was dented and scratched, which explained why the units were not boxed.  The store had sent me a floor model.  I was very upset and called the store the next day.  She told me they would send a repairman but that this was not their problem.  She went on to tell me they "did you (me) a favor" by taking back the first unit.  In the course of a couple of conversations, she also told me they had sent the floor models because it was quicker than getting them in boxes from the back of the store.  She also told me they would do nothing about the washer and hung up on me.  The washer was repaired, a tripod piece was shifted out of place, which caused all the noise and the water problems.  But that is not the end of this.

    The machine is defective and has to be repaired again.  Even when I have the water level set on "Large," the rinse cycle fills only about 8 inches deep.  I have to call the repairman again to have a perfectly brand new machine repaired again.  The store denies any responsibility and will do nothing.  I have to go now to the credit card people to see if I can get assistance from them.  What a nightmare!  I have stopped payment on the check I had to give for the difference in cost between the first and second sets.  If I had had any idea this would be such a hassle, I would never have gone to this company.  I needed some other appliances, but I won't be getting them there.

    I have contacted the Better Business Bureau, the credit card company, the service center, the repairman, and the local TV station's consumer help reporter.
