    Kearney, Dr. Kevin
My initial visit to Dr. Kearney's office was my first and last.  My visit actually was very pleasant.  His nursing staff was patient and friendly.  They went through a battery of questions and had ready answers before the doctor even came into the room.
Dr. Kearney was pleasant and gentle, especially given the nature of the problem.  He did a physical examination and pronounced that I had an anal fissure.  Very common.  He gave me a few things that I needed to do like taking hot baths and using stool softeners, wrote a prescription for some medicine to apply and sent me on my way with a return visit in two weeks.  He also advised that it was possible that surgery might be required.

That night I applied the medicine he prescribed and I will tell you quite honestly, I have never had anything hurt like this medicine hurt.  Even the fissure itself didn't compare to this kind of pain.  I am not sure if it was a reaction to the meds or what.  I ended up digging into some old pain meds to get me through the night.  Naturally, the first thing I did the next morning was call Dr. Kearney's office.  The PA there promised she would talk to him and call me back in 15 minutes.  4 hours later there was still no phone call.  So I called them back again.  Another promise that HE would call back.  To make a long story very short, he never called.  His receptionist called two hours later and I was basically told to pull up my big girl panties, use the medicine and I would get better.  NEVER was the issue that this medicine might be causing an adverse reaction even addressed.  I was even told that "We told you surgery might be an option."  I was not calling about surgery or even the original problem.  I was calling about medicine HE prescribed!!  Apprently he must be such a busy physician that he couldn't pick up the phone and talk to me himself, or address an alternative medicine.  I even asked the staff to help me with pain meds.  I thought maybe I could get through applying the medicine since he was convinced that it would help the problem, if I had something to help me through the pain.  "He said no" is what I was told.  Now I understand that pain meds can make it harder to go "potty" and that is something you don't want to have happen when you have an anal fissure, but his office did not give me that wisdom.  I obtained it from another physicain.  I am a big girl and can make sure I don't overdue it with too much pain medicine.

I am extremely disappointed with this physician and his office.  I would not recommend him to a single person.
Go to Savannah, Georgia and see Savannah Colon and Rectal docs if you need help in that area.
