    Willy's Tile
Willy did an excellent job for us. He was prompt in arriving to do a quote, very friendly, and told us exactly what needed to be done. He actually provided a better service than we were asking for. Once the work was quoted Willy did the work when he said that he would and the work he did was wonderful. I am very impressed with his craftsmanship and his level of customer service. The price was fair and I even recommended Will to my elderly father.

    Bradley Construction LLC
We have used Bradley Construction, LLC, Vaughn Mitchell as project manager before, and perhaps the best review is we used them again. Vaughn was able to utilize several crews on the project, each with their own expertise. Jamie and his partner did an excellent job on painting our walls over the wall-paper that was there and the installation of the floor. We have a "popcorn" ceiling and Keith did an excellent job of blending in an area that needed repair which was then painted by Javier.. We had a granite counter-top installed. Javier did an exceptional job on the tiled back-splash. He even suggested a pattern change which really presented the tile we had purchased. As with any project done on a 25+ year old home, there were a few "hic-cups" but Vaughn consistantly checked on the project and made sure the work was performed to our satisfaction. I point this out as anyone who starts a project on an older home should be aware that due to many things like "the settling of the home" things may not go as planned. You never know what lies under the old stuff. As before, Vaughn delivered as promised and when the need arises we will utilize Bradley again..

    Burgess Handyman Services
This is the latest in a series of projects we've entrusted to Burgess Handyman Services.  And again, they didn't disappoint.  This bathroom/dressing area was in bad need of updating from it's 1970's blue toilet, sink, tub and worn out floor tile.  The walls had been painted over when a wallpaper removal was attempted, so they were also a mess.  Wes's team demo'd the area in one day, and removed all debris.  They cleaned up every day to make the impact on the rest of the upstairs as minimal as possible.  They smoothed out the walls as much as possible, saving me the cost of new drywall.  They installed all new fixtures, 2 vanities with granite countertops and faucets, 1light, custom baseboards, floor tile, shower wall tile (all the way to the ceiling) and my special request, changing the framed door with a barn door which slid open and closes on the dressing room side. The faucets (both!) I picked out turned out to be defective, and Wes made multiple trips back and forth to Lowes and Home Depot for me to get them replaced and installed.  His team is always punctual, reliable, professional and their work is excellent.  I had them lay the floor tile in a subway pattern and the wall tile in an offset pattern, no problem.  At the end of the tub is a tiled shelf area and that too, didn't slow them down a bit.  I think they actually enjoyed the challenges I gave them.  I was constantly asked if it was being installed to my liking and listened to my ideas and opinions.  Again, Burgess Handyman Services is a company you can trust to do most any type of job around your home.

Carpet was to be installed on the day of Christmas eve.  They arrived on time and proceeded to remove all of the carpeting from the residence.  After they had laid out the carpet in the main living area, they informed us the carpet was defective. It's now about 3:00 P.M. on Christmas eve.  They asked if we wished to proceed with the installation, or take the carpet back?  We informed them we were expecting company the next day, and here we were with the baren floors, and asked them what they would recommend? They advised they could install the defective carpet, go back to the mfg.,  file a claim for replacement, and then come back and replace the defective carpet at a later date. We believed we had no other choice, and accepted their recommendation.  Later, the carpet company claimed we should never have accepted the defective carpet, and even took exception to Personal Choices advise the carpet was defective.  Thereafter, in the process of working with Persoanl Choice, they made our lives miserable by refusing to work with us on replacement dates, and even did considerable damage to woodwork and doors when de-installing the bad carpet, and installing the replacement.  Our dealings with these people were the worst, and most expensive of any dealings with any company during our married life.

    Burgess Handyman Services
We have used Wes and his team on several previous smaller projects so did not hesitate to have him do this major kitchen renovation.  We met with him after the cabinets were ordered so that he could see what would be involved in installing the cabinets. I received a quote for the job within a week. It was in line with our expectations, so we agreed to have him do this work.
The cabinets and countertops were ordered from Lowes; we needed Wes to coordinate the demolition and installations.  He met me the day the cabinets were delivered and we inspected them together.  He and his team began the demo the next day.  The overall space of the area being renovated was large, 13 ft by 39 ft.  They had the demo completed (including removal of old appliances and two layers of flooring) in 3 days.  Every day the work area was swept clean debris was hauled away and all tools put away and out of our way.  The next few days was dedicated to installing the cabinets.  His team arrived on time and worked hard every day.  Wes coordinated with a subcontractor for the flooring installation, choosing someone who had previous experience with install of bamboo flooring.  This team was also very prompt, hardworking and professional.
Once the quartz countertops were installed, it only took 3 more days to finish.  This work involved completely wiring and hooking up all appliances (DW, disposal), faucets and adding a new outlet to the island, installing upper cabinets, repairing a long wall where cabinets were removed but none went back, framing a window, upgrading electrical and plumbing (this house is 40 years old) where necessary, installing all the knobs and drawer pulls.  I made a punch list of things to be completed and each item was checked off the list as completed.
Again, Wes and Burgess Handyman Services did not disappoint us.  He listened to our needs and did everything as we wanted, and only questioned us if it was possibly unsafe or would cause us problems down the road.

    Bradley Construction LLC
Working with Bradley Construction was an excellent experience! They were very knowledgeable and professional in everything they did for us. They assigned two project managers to visit us and understand what we wanted done. The primary project manager we worked with, Walt Hoye, was a joy to work with. He was an excellent listener and made some useful recommendations based on his extensive experience. Walt started with a software rendition depicting exactly what we wanted so we could visualize what it would look like. He made changes and showed us updated pictures as we progressed through the design phase. He even provided me with a software download of the design file so I could load it on my home computer and show my family what we were planning. It was great to work with Walt in this way. He was able to build the entire kitchen with our cabinets and colors and we could view it from various angles.
Demolition began on August 26 with the removal of our old kitchen. Within about 4 days demolition was completed. It was discovered when removing the old flooring that the underfloor was rotten in some places and they had to replace the plywood and this done quickly as well. They also discovered a couple of places where the underfloor was not well supported and they strengthened these areas in preparation of the tile floor which replaced the wood parquet floor.
Two walls were removed, one of which was load bearing between the kitchen and dining room. For the load bearing wall they installed dual 2 X 12 beams across the ceiling to provide support when the wall was removed.
It was decided with the recommendation from the electrician that we would install 8 LED can lights to replace the fluorescent lights. This was an excellent choice and recommendation. The electrician also installed a new switch circuit box and rerouted all of the wiring into the new box. He was very experienced and friendly to work with. We also decided to use under cabinet LED strip lights with dimmer and this was a good choice with dimmer switch to accent the counter tops which were quartz.
Our old ceiling had a popcorn texture and we had them change this to a flat ceiling which was done and came out looking very nice. They removed wallpaper and painted all the walls. They were very professional in preparing the walls for painting and caulking all cracks in the floorboard and ceiling trim before painting. Everything looks very professional.
The floors were done using a herringbone pattern of ceramic tile that looks like wood. It is very difficult to tell that the tile is not wood and looks amazing. We have already received many comments about how beautiful the floor looks. Their floor expert, Carlos, is an artist and does an outstanding job. He is very diligent, professional, and friendly as were all Bradley personnel that helped with the work.
The cabinets were installed in a very professional manner even as some changes had to be made during the installation process based on the sizes of our new appliances and the room dimensions.
I would highly recommend Bradley Construction and especially Walt, who was very flexible and technically skilled and always kept us well informed of all aspects of the construction. I know there is no way to provide a link or picture here to our "finished" kitchen but if anyone would like to see the results of their craftsmanship they can view our lovely new kitchen at

    Blackwells Flooring Installations
Brian and his crew did an outstanding job on the project. Brian took time to answer all of my questions and ensured my satisfaction of his work all along the installation process. The final price was also consistent with the originaI quote. I would certainly recommend Brian and his team to anyone!

    George Williamson Floors
It went well overall.  We thought could have them do prefinished but after they installed one of the rooms, we realized that did not match to our liking. I should say that the floors were beautiful and well done with the prefinished.  They just did not match well enough to us with what is down in the other rooms including the adjoining hall.
They were very patient with us wanting to make us happy with the work.  They ended up sanding this prefinished wood floor and staining to match the others.  For the other 2 bedrooms, they returned the prefinished wood back to supplier and replaced with regular raw wood and installed those.  They took the extra steps needed to make us happy with the floors.  They look beautiful!  We plan to have them back in the spring to do our bonus room.

    The Construction Zone
We first met with Jonathan to see what the best way to handle the current condition of the house we were looking to buy would be.  He was honest and worked to quickly show us our options and give us a clear view of what to expect for budget.  He provided us with a detailed quote broken down by each line item he would undertake.  We then agreed to the contract and work began the next week.  He was consistent and professional until the project was complete.

    George Williamson Floors
Called another contractor who told me to let the hardwood settle for 3 weeks and call him back. George responded to call for estimate, in person, within 4 hours. The "three week settle" was bogus since we had stored it in the house for several weeks. George gave written estimate with schedule to begin Dec 8, 2008. Called and worked us in on Nov 1, 2008. Completed project as agreed by Nov 6. Was on time, every time. A pleasant surprise to be completed for the holidays.
