Irrigation System reviews in Pawleys Island

    Leonard Drainage and Irrigation
I called Leonard and Sons, LLC, one morning for an estimate. Michael Sr. returned my call quickly, to see if I was available that evening. Not only did they show up for the estimate, but with my permission, they proceeded to do the work; tune-up my sprinkler system, repair a leak in the line, and check a washed out area, to make sure it was not caused by a leak in a line. This was under a brick walkway, which they returned to better condition than it was before. Delightful father and son team; very professional.

Called one day, and Mr. Clubb arrived the next day with a technician, Justin who worked all day and got the system working properly. It was amazing to have such a quick and competent response, and the workmanship was top notch. Very pleased with the outcome. Would highly recommend them and I will use this company for any further modifications we may want or need in the future.

Seamless process. William Clubb and his team of professionals made it happen. Hats off to Roman, his grandson and Justin for doing a professional job with no interruption to our busy schedule. Highly recommend Rainbow Irrigation to anyone. They followed up on the job so an A rating is justified.

Installation of new pump and controller was very good. Price charged was much higher than what my neighbors paid for the same installation from other suppliers. Made the mistake of not getting an estimate, suggest you do.

Job was completed in a short time after contacting Mr. Clubb by one of his employee's. However,we were shocked by the extremely high water bill from Georgetown Water. Consequently we contacted Mr. Clubb about the situation and he personally replaced the pump and disconnected the Georgetown water supply.

Look no further! This is a long-established reputable irrigation company with top-notch service and prices. They drove from Myrtle Beach to Pawleys Island to do the work. Communication was excellent. Took care of filing papers with the water authority, too. Couldn't ask for better service, and price was great.

They performed all services in a professional manner. The system is now working perfectly. While performing the requested work, they went much further in placing new containers in the ground and checking all electrical connections. Never requested additional money for the extra services.
Finally, a contractor who likes to work and is responsive!!!!!

Half an hour after we made the initial call to Mr. Clubb, he pulled into our driveway. We showed him our problem and he immediately grabbed his shovel dug out the clogged flexible pipe, replaced that with new flexible pipe, replaced two old connectors and our old sprinkler head with a new non-clogging sprinkler head. He returned the soil and sod back in place and we turned the sprinklers on for a trial run. It worked perfectly!!! This man has been installing and repairing irrigation systems for over 30 years. His prices are unbelievably reasonable. If you want the very best - just call Mr. Clubb!!

I asked for an estimate to repair an inefficient sprinkler system. Mr.Causey (the owner) told me he could come by at 12 the following day but couldn't give an estimate on something like this, but would come out and have a look for $75.00. He was clear that his fees were 75 for the first hour and 50 dollars for additional hours (plus parts of course). He said he had 20 years experience and often fixed this sort of thing within the first hour and generally gave me the feeling that it would be a quick fix.

He showed up 2 hours late which just infuriates me anyway because these folks just assume you have nothing better to do than wait around for them to show up.  He was accompanied by his "helper" a very young (possibly high-school aged) kid that was apparently just learning the business.  My husband met them outside and I didn't hear what went on, but apparently my husband told Mr. Causey to just go ahead and do what it takes to get it fixed (front and back yards), assuming it would be done in a timely manner.  They left that evening at 7:00 pm, having done nothing but assess the job, and tear up part of the lawn in the front yard only, putting little flags where the new sprinklers would go. They said they would be back first thing in the morning.

They showed up the following afternoon around 2:00 - no phone call saying they would be late. I kept checking on them and questioning the fact that it was taking so long, and Mr. Causey just kept saying over and over that we were getting quality work and no one else could do it as well or as cheaply as he could, and that my husband had approved it.  Nevertheless, I was concerned since he hadn't even looked at the back yard.  Finally when it got to be past 7:00 pm I had enough - at the rate they were going it was going to cost me several thousand dollars just in labor because the back yard is quite a bit larger than the front.  I asked them to finish what they were working on, and that would be it.

The bill was $1696.00 and was itemized.  His parts were marked up around 300 percent, which he denied when called back the next day by my husband - he said that what he charged us was what he paid. My husband checked in 2 places and those sprinklers/rotors and nozzles were not even close to what was charged us. The retail prices were 1/3 of what we were charged, and I'm sure he didn't pay retail, so he marked them up unreasonably. He also got belligerent when questioned about it.

The work was satisfactory and I have no complaint about how the work was completed, my unhappiness is in the cost and the fact that I was led to believe it would be a small job and it turned out to be a large job and a lot of money.

We normally never complain about things like this, my husband is easy going and usually just says "it is what it is" and lets it go at that, but this in our opinion was really excessive.  I will never again have anyone do work on a time and material basis - I will get a quote or at very least a "not to exceed" amount. Had I known it would be this expensive I definitely would not have had him do it. I could have had the whole front lawn replaced for that amount.

Was originally quoted $1700 (assuming 5 zones), to have to have the lawn irrigation system installed. The price was qouted as a "winter discount". Normal price would have been $2,000 for 5 zones. Was told if only 4 zones were required it would cost $400 less ($1300). Gave down payment of $850. When work was completed only 4 zones were installed, but instead of being billed an additional $450, I was billed $700 (total $1550). They claim they could not reduce the price by the $400 (claims he never said it). However, even if you take the original quote of $1700 and divide that by 5, it breaks down to $340 per zone. Since I only had 4 zones installed the most it should have cost was a total of $1360, not $1550. If he could do 5 zones at $360 per zone, why not 4 zones at $360 per zone? So, if you get a price make sure you firm it up with them in writing (and be sure he informs his wife of the correct price quoted), since she follow up on the billing, and I had some heated discussions with her about the price difference. I might consider using them again because I was pleased with the work, but I will be sure that the price they quote is the price I will pay.
