    On-Site Builders Inc
On-site Builders- were very professional, talented, fair priced and over all one of the best builders I have ever worked with on my project. Gary, James and the crew were so polite, nice to work with and did what I wanted in a short time. They came to work every morning at 7AM ( not 9 or 10) and ready to work. No cell phone activity while working by the workman.

    Southern Coast Improvements

Our home is one that we converted from a single story ranch into a two-story Cape Cod/Craftsman home.  We added a sun room, guest house, and golf cart shed.  I say this because over the past 14 years since we bought the house, we have dealt with nearly a dozen contractors for the work.  We were usually dissatisfied with those contractors for either failing to show up on time for work, inferior work, unfinished work, poor quality of some of the work, and generally an unreliable arrangement for getting the work done.

Our experience this time, with John Henson and Southern Coast Improvements could not have been any different from the others.  The difference started immediately after contacting John through Angie's List.  He arrived exactly at the time he said he would to do the estimate.  He was personable, informative, and easy to talk to.  He provided the estimate within a few days and we accepted his proposal.  The work began on the exact date and time we set up with him.

Members of his team arrived on time and we met Norman and "Little" Kevin who both turned out to be not only friendly and personable, but extremely talented in workmanship.  Norman takes incredible pride in his work and worked well with us as we discussed various adjustments to the work as we went along.  Norman is such a nice man and so talented in his job.  The laundry enclosure that he built is of the finest quality you could hope for and even though it is an addition to our home, it looks like it belonged there all along.  Little Kevin worked well with Norman and the two of them almost felt like family members at the end of the project.

The shower remodel was also done extremely well and a third member of John's team, David, appeared on time to tile the shower exactly at the time set up.  After Norman completed installing the backer board and laid the shower floor and sealed the walls, David did the tile work.  We never saw David take a break over two full days, the first day working til 8:30 pm.  So efficient and he did beautiful tile work.  The shower looks amazing!

I could go on and on talking about what an enjoyable experience working with John and his team was, but suffice to say that I wholeheartedly recommend Southern Coast Improvements for your next project.   After so many disappointing experiences with past contractors, we could not be any happier with John's work with us.  We have already talked with John about our next projects and hope to have that scheduled before long.  Don't delay - call John today - you will not be disappointed with any aspect of the experience.

A few years ago, Louie Barnaba did a wonderful job remodeling our old family beach house in North Myrtle Beach.  Louie was very knowledgeable, gave great advice, paid attention to detail and worked well with us during construction; he simply helped transform a fading beach house to a new and improved, revised gem on the oceanfront. We love it!
Recently,  there was a plumbing issue in the house and we called Louie. He was on it within 24 hours! We were so appreciative  of his responsiveness and customer service! We highly recommend Louie Barnaba, and will continue to call him again for our ongoing construction projects at the beach! Thanks again Louie!

    Tidewater Builders
I wish everyone could build a new home in NMB/SC so they could share our experience with Tidewater Builders, Inc. Our mission was to find an architect, and a home builder to redesign the house plans we purchased for our home in North Myrlte Beach, SC.We live in NJ and planned on interviewing at least 3 architects and builders. After we met Bret Broadwater, Pres.of Tidewater Builders, Inc. we looked no further. He was very professional with a great sense of humor. He actually cared about us. He made suggestions that we would never have thought of to save us money. One of the many things he suggested was going with 12' ceilings instead of the 13' He had many more suggestions as well. He loves what he does and it shows. Mary-Patricia Broadwater was our interior designer She drove us all over making selections for the new home, and at the same time keeping us with in our budget, with beautiful choices. TBI was a pleasure to do business with and they have our blessing to show our home to any future clients. We are very fortunate to have found them. They made the process stress free from 600+miles away.

    Structure Home Builders LLC
In the beginning, everything seemed to be going well and on schedule. Then the house was built too high on the foundation and the troubles began. There were constant over runs in costs and time. It turned out that subcontractors that he used previously would not return as they hadn't been paid and the ones that he was able to convince to work on my house soon found out that that they may or may not be paid. I had subcontractors taping notes to my house asking for payment from me - although Ricky Thomas had already taken the draw from the bank. For example, it took almost two months to get the roof on the house. The roofer that he hired came and sent two laborers to start the roof and left after two days , never to return.. It turned out that Ricky Thomas had not paid the roofer for another job and the roofer came and took materials that I had paid for as payment. This continued with the plumber, cabinetmaker, etc. who took pieces off the house to hold "hostage" for payment. As every promised completion date came and went, it became apparent that I was over my head with this disaster. Ricky Thams took to ignoring my phone calls, missing appointments with me to discuss the hosue, and vacating the premise before I could get to the house. I had to take off work and drive to the other house that he was working on and "catch" him. He blamed everything on the subcontractors. Eventually, I fired him and had to complete the house myself over a period of a year and a half. I was not able to get the subcontractors back into the house to fix their poor workmanship as they had not been fully paid and would put a lien on my house - as if it were my fault that they hadn't been paid. Ricky Thomas comes off as a likeable and trustworthy person, but he is a terrible builder.

In the beginning when money was flowing and I gave Mr. Eisenlohr what he wanted thinking that he would do a good job, things were fine. When it came to the inside of the house, disaster struck. I arrived on the construction site and no one was there. Sub- contractors had lost or stolen lights, screws which all had to be replaced. Doors were installed improperly (door hit the toilet in master bath for instance). Painting was not done properly and I had to call the painter to finish the touch ups. Sub contractors complained that no one was on site when they would arrive. I think they all had access to keys to go in and out of the house. He installed locks improperly. Overall, it was a frustrating, costly and disappointing experience. Mr. Eisenlohr put cheap items in the house, didn't properly insulate the attic and home. Windows were sheetrocked and wires were left hanging from the ceiling. Mr. Eisenlohr should not build houses. He has such a bad reputation with sub constractors that the good ones won't work with him anymore. They all asked me for payment. Mr. Eisenlohr comes off as a very likable nice person, but he is a terrible builder.

100% perfect, I have no complaints!  Everything that Kay Evans promised was done. It was completed ahead of schedule. Building a house is complete torture, but she did a fantastic job!
