    Veterans Home Service
    Did not go well. First installer thought he was done, then when he let go it ripped off the wall and we caught the TV. He had not anchored to a stud. He could not do it. So they called in David Wayne from Atlanta. He mounted it to the stud. But it is crooked, half a bubble off, nice. He said they would pay for fixing the wall when I wanted. After a while I requested $50 to fix the wall. I have made at least 6 contacts over several months to get reimbursed. No reimbursement yet. Oh and also, whenever one can't get through by phone, by email, they ALWAYS tell me Mr Wayne is on drill. Perhaps he should be around once in awhile to take care of business. I'm a vet myself but it's no good service to the public if you are not around. The real test of a business is less on the front end but on the back end when things don't go right. Here, the clearly overpromised, under-delivered and will avoid you like the plague if you try to get them to make it right. Last $ they will EVER see from me!

    I took the TV to his shop (small house) in South Augusta, where he had been for 18 years since retiring from the military. He had already given me good information over the phone about prognosis and possible options. I left it on Thursday, he called on Friday and it was fixed by Saturday for me to pick up. So far everything has worked fine, and we were pleased with the interaction and promptness of the service. He was a pleasant person with whom to work, gave realistic expectations, and followed through on calling us for the approval to proceed and the final finished work. He has an additional pickup charge or home service charge if you cannot take it to his shop. He does not use credit cards, so you must use only cash or check. The shop is an old house cluttered with electronics, so not much to look at, but a good fair price for good service.

    He did fine in the repair and was a seemingly nice guy, but later got into trouble with the law due to not fixing people's TV that were brought into his shop. I think he is out of business now. That part has failed again in 2015. Here is the newpaper report of his conviction for theft.

    I would recommend them highly. It is a family-owned shop with a lot of experience people there. They don't sell me things I don't need and fit the bicycles to me by trying to fit my budget. They customize things and do repair work. They are a full service bike shop. They also have on-road and off road rides for both advanced and beginners three times a week,including mountain biking. This firm is just the kind of shop you can form a relationship with and grow in cycling. I have bought a bicycle from them. They have sales a few times a year and I say their prices are good in that industry. Sometimes I have bought things online and then looked there and they have it cheaper. They have done some repair work. They are very friendly in a family sort of way. They do a lot of follow up so I think that is professional.

    The ER staff made me comfortable and set up a CT scan with contrast which they did in a very timely fashion as far as ER's go. The Dr. verified the diverticulitus and wrote prescriptions for antibiotics which cleared the problem in a little over a week.

    Verizon Wireless
    We have been with Verizon for a long time. The North Augusta Verizon store really messed my phone up. I went in to ask them a simple question. They worked on my phone for over an hour and they lost all my notes. They were changing a lot of stuff around and I told them to stop the repair and I left with my phone. I took it to the other Augusta location and they repaired it within five minutes.

    We have two cell phone lines with AT&T.  We don't get service at our house so we can only use our phones when we are away from home; that would be my biggest complaint.  However, we will continue to use them.
