Appliance Repair reviews in Myrtle Beach

Appliance Medic of Myrtle Beach, LLC
Kevin Baldwin showed up to diagnose problem with R/F not cooling. He charged $80 and said he would research parts. He called back a few days later and needed money, up front, to order electronic board. After a week or so, he came out and installed part. It did not start up but he said to give it a day and unplug/plug back in. It might take a few times. It never did start. After multiple calls he said I could replace the thermostats (3). He said parts were hard to get for Samsung, even though, he advertises the brand as one that they repair. I spent over $500 and it has sat for 3 months not working. He refuses to answer phone calls. He is a rip off. Beware! There are a lot of reviews saying the same thing.

Kevin agreed to to pencil us in since he was in the area, but was unable to see us like he initially committed to. Not a big deal since we expected to wait a day or two. Kevin agreed to come the next day. He showed up within the promised window and verified what we already knew. He quoted us a price for a replacement part and requested a deposit--not a big deal. We received a call two days later saying he could not find the part--again, no big deal. We never received a refund that was promised for our deposit. We are/were willing to pay the service call charge, but the lack of communication is unacceptable. I have disputed my credit card charge so I am not out of the $200 we put down as a deposit on the non-existent part. I'd proceed with caution.

    30 Minute Appliance Repair
Our daughter gave up two days of vacation waiting for the service people to first arrive and then finally work on the alleged leak. In addition, she had to call them when they did not show up at the arranged time and had to badger them to return since they were due to leave SC. The only work completed while our daughter was still at the house was to open the wall and "fix" the leak and "clean" the mold in the wall area. We were not overly concerned since we were not expecting visitors for another two months. About one month before our next visitors were due to arrive, we made arrangements to mail a key so that the work could be completed. They received the key but still did not finish the repair. Our visitors arrived to find the water shut off and a mess still in the kitchen. One month later when we arrived, the work was still not done. We called first thing Monday morning to find out what was going on and got a song and dance about how busy they were. Remember, they have been paid in full and the work is not complete. After some yelling on both ends they said someone would be by on Wednesday. The repair person finally arrived about 12:30 and worked for about 1 hour to start the repair on the sheetrock. He said he would be back the next day (Thursday) to finish after the plaster dried and would call at 11:00 to tell us what time. At 3:30 he finally called to say that he would not be able to make it that day but would call at 10:00 the next day to say when he would return on Friday. We havent heard from him since. After realizing that he would not (ever) be back, we pulled out the refrigerator to clean up and survey what needed to be done to the wall. We wondered why the ice maker was not working and it was because they had not turned the water back on to the refrigerator on after the "repair". We turned the valve to turn on the water and guess what? It was still leaking. And the leak was coming from the ice maker hose. I doubt they tested their "repair". We fixed this in 5 minutes with a $17 replacement hose from Home Depot. We cleaned up the floor and molding, and the sheetrock repair remains unfinished. The bottom line is that being out of town, we were at the mercy of taking a contractors word and (over) paid for a job that was seemingly not necessary and left unfinished.

    Angela's Washers & Dryers
I called at about 9:30am and Gary came out that afternoon. He had the part in his truck and fixed it on the spot. Gary is a very pleasant man who was a pleasure to have in my home. The charge was very reasonable. I'm so happy I found Angela's! Thank you Angie's List!

    Sears Appliance Repair
I bought an exercise machine from them and had a lot of trouble with it. They eventually took it back, and I was happy with that. The process was pretty painful. They tried 3 times, but the parts had to come from China, so that took forever, and they were consistently bad when they got the parts in, so it never did work. It was a stationary bike. The parts that they needed to fix it were the parts that cause the tension in the wheel. The whole thing just never did work. The fella that came out to do the work was a little hard to get a hold of, but the store was okay.

    Sears Appliance Repair
The washer developed a problem. We called them to come out and they came out right away. It was a bad part and he was able to cover it under the warranty, which was helpful for us. It worked out quite well. He had the part on him, so it was quick and efficient. They were quick, they had the part, they cleaned up after themselves, they were very punctual and efficient. They did a good job and I was happy with it.

    Paradise Appliance
I had Paradise come under my Home Owners Warranty first and they repaired my dryer for over heating. They showed me the burned out part and explained everything to me. I told them my dryer was burning out every year and I had my vent cleaned out yearly. I hired them to clean out my vent and found out some businesses were only cleaning out surface area front and back. This company climbs up on roof and took pictures of vent and had me run dryer on air. They brush clean all the way through. They spent forty five minutes cleaning. They also showed me all they found. They are excellent! They are based in Georgetown but are in the Myrtle Beach area all the time.

    PCW Appliance Service Inc
You never know when you call a repairman if they will tell you that you need a new appliance.   I was really worried that since the dishwasher was 7 years old, it would be given an early death sentence.   Not so.    On time, professional service.  Would definitely use again, and will check them out when I need new appliances from now on, especially since Best Buy will never get any more business from me.

    Southern Appliance Service Co

They did a great job. They came and ordered the part. I think the part came the next day. They kept in touch with me. We live in a large area so when I contacted them they kind of had it divided up as to the days when they could come to us. They could not come out the first day I called them. They came, ordered the part and the next day they had the part so it was quick service. It is still working.
