    Grand Strand Health and Wellness
I had been using a chiropractor in the Myrtle Beach area with fairly good results. Their office was about a 40-minute drive for me. So I attempted to try to find something closer to my home. I found Grand Strand Health and Wellness when I went to the barbecue festival and they were doing free assessments. After a week and a half of treatment I started feeling better than I had since my injury. Unfortunately there was several situations that sent me into a tailspin. I highly recommend Dr. Gardner and I feel he helped me more than anybody else has for a somewhat pain free life. Unfortunately I can't say the same about their newest addition Dr. Crilley. I had attended new patient orientation in which Dr. Crilley made some political statements. I disagreed with him and felt this should not have been addressed in a professional setting. Apparently my comment to that effect upset him as he responded back to me with an attitude. He was the one who did my next to adjustments. By the second adjustment I was in so much pain I couldn't stand it. It was during the time that we where to be evacuated for hurricane Matthew so I had to live with this intense pain for 7 days before I could get any help unless I took some fairly strong pain medications. As long as you can book yourself with Dr. Garner I think you'll be happy. I will definitely never use Dr. Crilley again.

I liked the attitude of everyone working there. Dr. John explained what was wrong and what ultimately was needing to be accomplished. I had called ahead to make sure I wasn't going to have to undergo xrays or sign up for months of treatments, like I had heard friends say they had to do. I was assured neither would happen.
The machine he uses is one I had used with another chiropractor in another state. I never understood what it was all about with that chiropractor. But, Dr. John explained it thoroughly and showed me on the computer where I was out of alignment. I had some immediate relief after my treatment. I have been back several times now and am on the mend. It might have been sooner, but I can be my own worst enemy when it comes to treating my body properly.
I highly recommend this place. And I love not being twisted and cracked. I've gone to chiropractors for about 40 years and I've never gotten used to having my neck snapped. None of this kind of treatment occurs here. It is totally painless -- so easy.

    Cohen, Dr. Craig
I would recommend Dr. Cohen without reservation. He has so many different types of therapies tohelp his patients, that I am feeling better already. Wonderful positive atmosphere in the office. I will return for my care and maintenance.

    Cohen, Dr. Craig
During our wellness treatments, my wife had an accident at work. She was in extreme pain in her back and legs. Dr. Cohen took x-rays and diagonsed the problem. He then went out of his way to coordinate with our general practice doctor in order to help my wife recover fronm her accident. We have continued seeing Dr. Cohen for general; adjustments even after my wife's recovery.

    Grand Strand Health and Wellness
I am very picky about chiropractors. Particularly because they are working with my neck. I liked Dr. Garner and was impressed with his credentials, but at the beginning I was put off by the way the wellness center works.

The first session was an x-ray, watching a video on chiropractic care, and meeting the doctor. I came back a few days later to find that if I wanted treatment, I would sign up for so many sessions, three days a week - and that it would cost $300 over the amount insurance would pay - because my insurance only covered adjustments and not the added therapy (heat, stimulation, time on the massage bed, etc)., In addition, I would be required to attend a class on wellness at some point during the treatment.

I was put off and said so to the office administrator. On the other hand, I had been looking for someone I trusted for over a year, so I signed up. When Dr. Chris called to see how I was doing (after the first treatment), I told him my feelings - and he said that it should have been dealt with differently, and that I had the option of not doing the added therapy. I was impressed he called - and I was impressed he give out his home number in case there is an emergency.

I kept the treatment schedule and went to the class - then realizing why he requires it. He wants to make sure people don't stop treatment when they begin feeling better....and his view of wellness in holistic. He gives out a lot of material, talks about diet, maintaining, etc. It may just be my personality that balks about being told what to do and when, but there is no mistaking that he is an excellent doc with a lot of good ideas.

I should also say that I have FM that is quite severe. During one session he realized that my entire shoulder was out of place - and he manually put it back in place. There was incredible relief. I have never had anyone do that - but it worked!

I gave them a B for staff friendliness because I did feel the administrator did not look at me as someone to work with or
that the patients concern is at least equal to and quot;the planand quot;. On the other hand, the people administering the additional therapy and the doctor are all friendly, capable and caring.

I began the treatment with lower back issues and my physician recommended that I see an orthopedic surgeon. I chose this route and I'm not sorry. I'm walking like a real person again, and my shoulders and neck have much more flexibility.
