    STARS LIMOUSINE SVC
    The service itself, was excellent;  a black Lincoln sedan.  Timely, early in fact; professional driver, courteous,, quiet and discrete (most appreciated at 4:30 AM). The vehicle was clean and luxurious.
    My only issue was the price.  I wasn't prepared to pay that much, after I'd taken personal transportation in other vehicles, albeit, not a Lincoln Continental, but for half that price. Part of the price was a surcharge for an early morning pick-up.  First time I'd ever encountered that in using a service like this in several cities. 
    If you're willing to pay that amount for an 18-mile ride in much comfort, to the airport, I very much recommend them.  But I can't afford it.

    Adventures In Sailing
    I originally had an October 27th sailing. I emailed on October 5th asking if he had a sailing time on October 11th. He replied yes and asked if I wanted to secure that spot. I emailed him back on October 5th stating I would like that sailing time. I never got an email confirmation that I was scheduled, so I emailed him later on October 5th asking for a confirmation. October 6th comes around and still no response. I have my husband leave a voicemail for the company. Still no response. I email the captain on October 7th stating if I did not get a confirmation, I will need to cancel and request a refund. Here is what Mike said:
    "I am Captain and owner of the boat.  I suggest you get a refund."
    He then goes on in his email how he asked for me to state if I wanted to confirm the switch from October 27th to October 11th. He never mentioned about my husband leaving voicemails or me saying we wanted the October 11th sailing. Apparently he missed that email and the calls.
    At the end of his email he states:
    "We try for a 100% guarantee with close to 100% review rating.  We prefer people sailing with us not frustrated and angry when they show up.  I am sad you are not satisfied.  There is no way for me to understand your needs.  Living Social is a marketing company.  Feel free to suggest to them a way for me to better understand your challenges.  Please in your complaint show them the email trail below and the text message you sent me.  I will when they contact me.  I don't know if you are not reading the emails or only get some of them.  Regardless, I suggest you try some of the other services in Charleston for your sailing needs.
    There is a beautiful sailboat named Fate (Charleston Sailing Charters) and another named Cyhthera (Classic Charleston Sailing).  They cost a great deal more than you are paying to sail with us.  Perhaps the extra money will get you better service."
    I then sent him a screenshot of our email conversations that clearly showed that on October 5th, I stated we wanted to go on the October 11th sailing and asked for a confirmation.
    This company had the nerve to question my frustration when they were not getting back to me. Then he tries to put me down as a customer just because I said I was getting frustrated that no one was contacting me back. I never take the time to write reviews like this because I have better things to do with my life but this man needs to learn how to interact with customers who are having issues with their reservations. You're in the customer service field. People will get mad. Don't suggest they get a refund just because you can't handle a customer that isn't 100% happy.

    Charleston Marine
    Charleston Marine is by far the worst experience with a boat repair company I have ever had over 30 years.  They had my boat for over a 2 year period in which time they failed to fix the engines properly over charged  for the service, were rude and disrespectful every time I tried to get a straight answer from them.  The first work they did took just under 12 months to complete. They returned my boat disgustingly dirty which cost  me $550 to get cleaned. On the initial trial sea run it was evident that something was not right. Charleston Marine then fought with me for 90 days blaming me for the problem. I then had to turn it into my insurance company which paid out 12K to make the repairs. This took another 12 months to get done. Unfortunately when the boat was taken for another trail run  it was evident that there were still engine problems. I then contacted another marine repair company and had them go over the work done by Charleston Marine. They found that Charleston Marine had left off parts and put the engine back together wrong. This cost me another 3K in order to get it corrected. DO  YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE. THEY HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND MUST  BE IN FINANCIAL TROUBLE. They always said that they were having trouble getting parts and that's what was taking so long. I found out through other sources that the owner did not do well at Yamaha repair school and it's evident with what he did with my boat that this is true! 
    Not only did I lose the use of my boat for 2 years but I had to file insurance claims in order to get the work they did corrected

    Sure Load Moving
    It went very well. After contracting with them on-line, I received repeated follow-ups confirming the dates and readiness. We rented a 16 ft. truck (same price as a 12 ft. one). It was ready, fully fueled and we completed the paperwork and left in about 45 minutes.
    The Sure Load office folks were very courteous and efficient.
    I will also say that the overall Penske experience was excellent. The returning office in Marysville WA were equally courteous and efficient. Other than the very long drive (3150 miles) the truck performed without any problems.

    I recently purchased a 27' sailboat sight unseen. Mickey, the owner of the company, came out and freed up the prop and checked out the condition of the hull for me. He cleaned the hull free of bio matter and cleaned the through-hulls. He made it look like a different boat! He consulted me about repairs and recommended appropriate solutions to save me lots of money. I found him to be very knowledgeable and experienced. I also found his prices to be very competitive with other divers in the area. He also told me I could call whenever if there was an emergency as he is available 24 hours which I thought was really nice to know and gave me peace of mind.

    loose wires on converter, caused microwave to burn up and electrical fire

    First John llc Remodeling/Repairs
    John did a thorough job from the very beginning. When he met me to do the estimate for the window and painting work, he arrived a few minutes before I did and took that time to look around to see what else might need to be done. He noticed that the railing on the dock wasn't tight and suggested that we add a second bolt to each upright so that they wouldn't be able to rotate and loosen. I wouldn't have thought to ask him about the dock repair, but it was great to be able to get that done at the same time without having to coordinate with another contractor. That suggestion got me thinking about other things that needed to be taken care of--like the foundation vents that had cracked and wouldn't open and close properly. John took measurements, tracked down a source for the replacement window, and got back in touch with me with prices. He warned me up front how long the window supplier estimated it would take to get the replacement window, and that, based on his experience, it might take a couple of weeks longer. We decided to do all four: the window, painting, dock and vent repairs. John hadn't included painting the inside of the screened porch in his proposal, so I asked him to add that. Once the window was scheduled to arrive, the work crew came out, headed by another John (who said that, yes, some people did call him "Second John"). The work on the dock and vents was scheduled so that the crew would be here when the window was delivered and would be able to check that everything was right with it. A couple of days after the window was installed, the painting crew came to wash the house, then prepared to paint We had found a note left by the builder in the utility room listing the paint colors used on the exterior, and I had checked samples from the paint store to be sure they were right. When the painter started, he realized that the color wasn't exactly right after all, and he called me to ask whether I wanted him to take a sample from an unweathered area and have the store re-tint the paint to get a better match with what we had had. It came out a perfect match the second time. That certainly helped me out, since I had already assured the HOA that we were repainting with the same color! The only addition to the original proposal as the work progressed was a small amount of repair to damaged wood trim around some of the second-story windows that showed up after the washing. When the job was done, everything was cleaned up, and they even stopped back by to adjust a floodlight that had been tilted down by the painters and hadn't been aimed back correctly the first time. John clearly pays attention to detail and gets things right. It was also convenient to have one person who could coordinate a variety of work so that we got all the exterior projects wrapped up at once. I'm sure we will be calling him again.

    A friend referred me and said she was the best with the best prices. I looked around a bit and it was a big hassle. She took all that stress away from me and did all the work. She gave me prices on several hotels, meal plans, tickets, options etc. She managed to book us into character meals that were sold out and worked some Disney Magic for us. Her ticket price was about $20 over our AAA discount price but we got so much more that it was worth using her instead. She has a great attitude and lots of knowledge and gave us all the tips and tricks for getting around the parks. All she does is Disney so she definitely has Ears of Experience.
