When we finally got to see someone it was not the doctor. It was his assistant. Not a problem but we had an appointment at 0815 and it was 0900. Also, this was a rescheduled appointment due to the previous one we had to walk out on due to being a hour behind again. Office opens at 0800 and appointment was 0815. Said something to staff at 0830 and received a less than helpful excuse. Inconveniencing people for time has happened each time we go here and it is getting worse. Like the doctor but hate the wait and staff

    Back, Dr. Jerry
He was very competent, punctual, knowledgeable, and personable. The staff was the same. The office environment is very friendly, very polite and the staff is knowledgeable. It was a most pleasing visit because I was concerned moving from one area of the country to another area.

The receptionist was rather unfriendly and condescending. I had several forms to fill out when I arrived at the office. One of the forms was a release to obtain my medical records from previous providers. I filled out the forms to the best of my ability then handed them back to the receptionist. She looked at the release I had filled out, grabbed a bottle of white-ou, covered what I had written, and told me I had to change the date I had written on the form. I was under the impression that the question was asking for what time period I was authorizing records to be released (the year I started treatment to when I ended treatment). Apparently I was mistaken. I was supposed to have put the date I was filling out the form and should have left the second space blank. So as I stood at the reception desk re-reading the question, she told me three times to write that day's date in one of the spaces (in a slow, precise manner, as if she thought I was a complete idiot, and quot;one...dash... twenty eight...dash... thirteenand quot;). She didn't understand how I had interpreted the question. I said to her that I was very well aware of what that day's date was and that it wasn't necessary to keep repeating it. Good grief!
When I was called in by the nurse to take my vitals, I was horrified that the area they take height, weight, blood pressure and go over medications is just on the other side of the door to the waiting room and wide open to anyone meandering the nurse's station and exam rooms (patients, doctors, staff). Then, I was told I needed to provide them with a urine sample . . . a requirement of all new patients. I have no idea what the urine sample was for as it was not explained. I do not know how it will be billed to my insurance provider. The whole purpose of my appointment was to get records transferred to a new primary and talk about continuation of care.
I was then placed in an exam room and waited to meet the doctor. I ended up going over my medications with her again as the nurse did not write down the dosage or frequency of dosages correctly. Before we talked about my medical history or my family history, the doctor jumped into giving me a lecture about being overweight. This lecture was also very condescending. I am a college-educated woman. I know that I need more exercise and to eat less. I may be fat, but I'm not stupid. I understand it is her job to educate patients about good health, nutrition and to encourage exercise. However, I wasn't even given the opportunity to talk to her about my severe depression, anxiety and narcolepsy (excessive daytime sleepiness) that all contribute to my inactivity. I came to this doctor's office to find a physician who would be compassionate and encouraging. Instead, I left feeling like I wanted to drive my car into a tree. For anyone who is overweight, it's never fun or easy to be told what you already know about yourself. It took me a lot of courage to pick up the phone to make an appointment to see this doctor. I had excellent doctors where I moved from. Re-establishing with new physicians and providers is a daunting task. I think I will look elsewhere for primary care. After this appointment, I will always remember my first impression and I will never forget how the staff and doctor made me feel. It has been 3 days since my appointment and I am still very upset by the whole experience. If I were extremely ill, I would hesitate to return here for care.
I had trusted in the ratings and reviews here on Angie's List and was disappointed I did not have a similar encounter at Dr. Mary Little's office.

He is so good. He sits down with me and he doesn't rush through the visit. He goes through all the medication with me and he actually converses with you instead of just rushing in and rushing out. He is extremely thorough with making sure about areas which you don't think about, he thinks about. He is just very thorough and very good. He has excellent communication skills. They take you right in when you have an appointment.

My experience with this daycare was generally ok until the last day that my children attended. I pulled my children out of this facility because my 12 month old daughter was neglected when she was ill. When I picked my daughter up on the afternoon of January 27th, 2011 she was lethargic and appeared to be ill the woman who had been caring for her informed me that she had been acting this way all day. My daughter had a 105.5 degree fever and was dehydrated. She had to be rushed to the ER because she was so ill, she had been in this state all day according to the daycare but yet they did not take her temperature, provide proper care for a sick child, or contact me to inform me that she was sick. If I had not arrived at the time I did my child could have died from dehydration from having a high fever for hours and the childcare providers at this facility never would have noticed. When I went to speak to the director about what had happened and that I was upset that they had neglected to properly and safely care for my child she informed me that she would not give me my reciepts of payment and also refused to return all of my children's belongings. She also told me that "this was why she hates poor people, because they are always trying to get out of paying for things". I said to her "excuse me!" and she responded "you heard me" and told me I was no longer allowed on the premises and she would not give me any reciepts and slammed the door to the front of the facility in my face I have yet to recieve my reciepts or the rest of my child's belongings.
