Medical Specialist reviews in Mauldin

    Holly Tree Family Practice
I don't want them to take him away from me. He is very knowledgeable. He also knows his limitations. He's not a specialist, he's a general practitioner. He understands me, which a lot of doctors don't to seem to. When I say I don't want treatment for something and I explain my reasons why, he gets it and he usually gets along with it or recommends an alternate treatment or different doctor. He understands my preference for not taking a lot of pills or medicine, that I'd rather keep myself healthy than recuperate.

    Daniel Jacques MD
Dr Jacques is easy to talk to, above all, he listened to me and asked questions, while he reviewed my prior CT scans. together we discussed options for treatment and possible causes for my abdominal pain - I trust him and that is important to me, as he gave me answers, and treatment options that made sense
His office staff made the scheduling easy for me, with several dates to choose from based on both my schedule and the doctor's.
I would recommend Dr Jacques to anyone seeking the services of a general surgeon.
My surgery is scheduled for the end of the month -

    Lucas III, Dr. S Emmett
He's got a really good personality and a good sense of humor. He's doing all he can do given the problems that I have with the bone fractures but I feel like I walk out of there and all I've gotten from it is that I've been told that I have the fractures which I already knew when I walked in and nothing's been done to correct them. All I get is if we do corrective surgery it might cause other vertebrae to collapse and we don't want that to happen and that's true. It's probably not his fault at all, it's probably just the fact that I'm frustrated with the situation. I just kind of feel like he kind of comes in and looks at the MRIs and x-rays and says it is what it is and there's not a whole lot you can do about it. and then I'd leave with nothing for pain, no suggestions for exercises or anything I can do for the pain or whatever but I don't feel like I get a whole lot out of the visit. He's a spinal surgeon and he's never even recommended taking a look or going in for exploratory purposes to see if there is anything that can be done so I feel kind of ambivalent about him because he's very likable and I'm sure he's very knowledgeable as well but on the other hand I don't feel like I get a lot of assistance I guess or a lot of help from him. It could be that there's nothing he can do and I just have to accept that but sometimes you just kind of wish that he would say "Well, we could try this and see how it works" or maybe he'd done surgery from my very first fracture then the other fractures wouldn't have occurred.

    Tollison, Dr. Michael E
He is very good. He's like one of the top foot specialist in the upstate area of North Carolina. He is very thorough and really knows what he's doing. He's not real talkative. He's very business-like but when you're dealing with your feet and your ability to walk, you kind of want somebody who is all business there and so I kind of appreciate that about him regarding getting down to business. You have to have a lot of MRIs and x-rays so you don't want to have to sit around and chit chat for 15 minutes and delay getting those x-rays done. You get hustled in and then you get down to x-ray and get that done and then by the time you come back practically they already have your x-rays ready for the doctor to come in and read it for you to tell you what's going on. He's very good about telling you what your options are. Unfortunately there has never been a lot he could do for me, in the future probably he will have to do some form of surgery on me unless they come up with a miracle cure in using cartilage. He's very honest and clear cut with giving your options and telling you what you need to do to minimize pain and to keep you on your feet as long as you can. He's a very good doctor, I wouldn't go around blowing whistles and throwing some story about him or anything, he's my favorite doctor in the world but he's good, he's very good on what he does and I wouldn't let anybody else touch my feet either. He is the best that there is in this area and I've had quite a few doctors tell me that so I trust the doctors who had sent me to him and told me that I trust them and their recommendations and I can tell that he is very intelligent and he knows what he's doing and so I trust that and I will continue going there and he will be in charge on my feet in like forever, he's good on what he does. He's very easy to get appointments with.

    Walter Batson MD
He's a fabulous doctor, Dr. Batson is like a rock star. It was last May and it was a really, really bad care, it was like the worst care that Dr. Batson had ever seen, he did the surgery, it's a really hard surgery to recover from, it takes like 8 to 12 weeks to really recover from it and then my husband tore it again so he had to go back in and repair the same shoulder again and when he opened it up, he said he almost just closed it back up because he didn't think he was not going to be able to fix it but he worked and he worked and finally got it back up and it's really, really tight and it was sewn up good but he told him "You better be careful because if you tear this thing again, it's going to be impossible, there's nothing there to operate with" but he's great, he's wonderful. He also did a rotator arm surgery on my dad too and everybody who ever has surgery done by hand was sent to them, and as for staff, if somebody who had surgery with him, being in the waiting room and then him coming out talking to me those 3 times, that time that I had with him, I'm also in love with him in taking my husband back for his first visit after the surgery, I really fell in love with him as like I almost wished that instead of my spine, I had shoulder problems 'cause he's such a good doctor and easy to get along with and so accommodating and everything. He's a great, great doctor. He saw him in May, he first saw him for his right shoulder in sometime around 2000 and that would have been in December and then the left shoulder, he saw him first in May of last year and then again in January of this year for the same shoulder.

    Jennings Jr, Dr. James E
He was great. He went in orthoscopically to see what the best course of treatment. He did some orthoscopic surgery to go in and see what the actual injury was, what was entailed and everything and what he thought would be the best course of treatment and so I had a few interaction with him with that and he did a really good job with the orthoscopic surgery. I don't feel like he gave me the best course of treatment because I had to do it all over again, I would have had the reconstruction that he advised me at that time, I was 35 and he said "For a 35-year old housewife, I wouldn't suggest that you would have the reconstructive surgery but if you were Michael Jordan or somebody who are still living with their knees then I would say have it but for a 35-year old housewife, I don't see where it would really give you that much of an edge," or whatever but it has really hampered my ability to do anything when I had my ACL there and I can twist my leg and fall, and I can't twist it at all, I haven't been able to do a lot of exercise that I used to be able to do like tennis, aerobic dancing, I can wear a brace and do it but it's a huge terminator looking braces. It's not worth putting that thing on to do these things and it doesn't really help much so if I had to do it all over again and really 35, when you're about to turn 57, 35 ain't that old and the way he was talking about it when he said that I'm 35 and being a housewife and didn't need that surgery, if I know now I would have said "You know what, 35 is still young, there is still a lot of living to do". After the age of 35, I would have insisted on the surgery to fix it. He's a good doctor though and a lot of people who have had reconstruction with him say that he did a marvelous job, he did it on my mother and she had a great experience with him and he's got a great personality and very easy to work with but I did feel like he gave me some bad advice. I feel like he could have done the reconstruction, I would have been better off in the long run.

Dr. Jerry Champ was always excellent in his care, treatment and concern for my dad. He always treated him like he was important and would take the time to address any concerns. He was very patient with him as well. The family appreciated his availability to address their concerns as well. We would highly recomment Dr. Champ to anyone for their heart care. We hated it when he left the Greenville office as it was closer to our home. My dad and I deeply appreciated all of the care that Dr. Champ gave to my father.

    Foot Clinic Of South Carolina
I arrived at the office and checked in. It was a very pleasant office with good parking. the employees at the desk were very sweet and said that i would see the doctor soon. I was called back in less than 5 minutes and the doctor looked at my foot asked some questions and did a quick xray right there in the exam room. It wa so easy and painless. I did not break the bone and the doctor assured me it would heal in time but may be sore for awhile. He did push any unnecessary procedures or medicines. He was very friendly and easy to work with.

    Alkema, Dr. Donald
I used to be athletic. I was a coach and a PE teacher. I was suffering from plantar fasciitis. I was in a lot of pain. He had a good bedside manner and table side manner. He seemed very understanding. He had a nurse who was very compassionate. He took care of my problem. I could walk again. I got in right away. He was on time. The staff was very friendly.

He cares about his business and he is a nice guy.  He has two girls working for him.  I am a morning guy and he takes me at 8.30 in the morning, which is great.  Every time I go, I make my next appointment which would be three months later.
