It is still not done. We first want to point out that David Chernow and staff/partners have all been pleasant to speak with when we have had to contact them, but it has taken a very long time to get the work done. He is not to be held responsible for the horrific weather we've experienced lately, but it seems that other jobs have jumped in front of our job after we were promised to be first in line after the rains passed etc. If it rained on Monday, they'd be at our house on Tuesday...or Wednesday or the first non-rain day on the calendar. We've waited patiently for "need 24 hours" and "family emergencies" and "someone will be there at 6 pm" several times now. On Monday, April 3 David finally showed up and bleached the deck. He had visited a week prior to assess the work (we were told he would be there to begin work) and as it turned out, he didn't have bleach on his truck or the appropriate pressure washer. Hmmmmmm. I offered a gallon of bleach we had just purchased for other house maintenance projects, but he had more important things to do. There are 3-4 grocery stores in a 3 mile radius from our neighborhood if my bleach wasn't the right kind...A promise to be there the next day was made. Well, it rained. He gets a pass. Then the promise to keep us first on the calendar etc. Finally on April 3, David and another staff member showed up to bleach the first layer of grime off of our deck. He noted that we needed to replace 4 boards and for a very reasonable price and an agreement to take a check, he would return after the tornadoes passed the next day. No show on Tuesday and Wednesday brought more horrendous storms. Thursday was Carolina blue sky clear. no show. Friday we were promised a 6 pm visit for the second pressure washing and the sealant to be applied. No show, no text, no email. No dinner plans either. After we emailed Monday, April 10 to see if we would ever get on the calendar and get to use our deck and get our money's worth, we were promised someone would be at our deck, pressure washer in hand with sealant and (we thought replacement boards as discussed Tornado Monday) at 5:45 pm I was wondering just how scathing I should be or not be. The UPS delivery guy arrived the same time Quality Services guys arrived. Not sure if UPS didn't deliver them to us. No boards to replace, no bleach, no notes in our file that these things were discussed, only a "it wasn't part of their original plan offer." This crew agreed to use our bleach, were honest enough to tell us that if it wasn't clear this time, it wasn't going to get any clearer looking and more bleach would indeed damage the wood. God Bless them, they worked for an hour to make it shine. However, it was then too late for the sun to dry the deck and we were promised that they would be back "tomorrow after the last client" to apply the sealant. We will be sealing over boards that will most likely survive another couple of years, but wouldn't it be grand to have it done right? I think Quality Services has the right idea and price point. In general, I would restate that they are very nice, just overwhelmed with the work load they've taken on and unable to manage their own up-sales and calendars.

I contacted Mike Edwards and two other companies by leaving a messages on Angie's List. He called me the following morning and came out at my earliest convenience to walk around my house. Our house is a challenge because the yard slopes down steeply in the back, making the eaves at the side and top gutter at the rear of the house equivalent to a 3 story house. The back of the house is also faces north, and it was pretty dirty.
We had stained our deck three times over the last 10 years and had already decided we were going to have a pro do it.
He told me what he would do and we parted with his promise of a written quote, which he provided via email less than 48 hours later.  He followed up with a call to make sure I had received it.  I was in the process of receiving 2 other bids.  I chose Mike because his quote was comparable to the others, I was impressed with his professionalism and I felt we developed a good rapport.
He was able to get started on the earliest day I could schedule him.  He and his crew were prompt, he introduced me to them, I showed them the faucets, and they went right to work.  They worked steadily with great attention to detail, and when they stopped for lunch his employee asked me to look at their progress and see if it met with my approval.  He showed me a couple of areas he said he wanted to go over again.  One area I had noticed; the other area he had to point out.
After a short break for lunch, they returned to their steady and careful work. My shrubs and plants, even those surrounding the faucets were undamaged. When they were done, I was extremely surprised at how good the house looked.  I think it never looked that good--our house was one of the first built in the neighborhood and obviously was covered in construction dust when we bought it.
Mike returned to our house when the guys were finishing up to make sure I was satisfied with their work and to discuss what stain or paint I wanted to use and to schedule his guys to return and paint when the deck was dry.  He provided some input and after we talked about the pros and cons of paint vs. semi-transparent stain, we agreed that paint was the appropriate solution.
I'd already researched stain and paint reviews, and he recommended the brand that was favorably reviewed by the consumer groups. I'd picked a few colors I thought would work with the siding and brick colors, and we reviewed them together.
His folks had to wait an extra day to return when the cloudy weather prevented the deck from drying as quickly as anticipated.
Again, they were prompt, professional, got right to work and worked steadily until they were finished, again asking me to review their progress.  Again, Mike came and walked around the deck with me.  Again, they paid great attention to detail and obviously take pride in their work.
I am glad to recommend his company  to you readers. Great job, Mike.  It was a pleasure working with him and his folks.
I have a couple of interior painting projects in mind, one of which will require some drywall repair.  I intend to call Mike when I'm ready to start the projects.

    Budget Pressure Washing
I did not use the provider because I wound up using a company that also did interior painting and drywall repair, which is a service I need with a different home improvement project.  I used the other company because they also responded promptly in a professional manner.  I used them because if I was satisfied I would consider using them for the other household project.
Please consider using these folks. I was impressed with them.

    Budget Pressure Washing
During his on-site visit to give us an estimate, Mike Padgett took the time to provide a very thorough description of what his firm would do in washing the vinyl-clad house and various horizontal surfaces, including how they would protect relatively new shrubbery.  He spent quite some time discussing the best stain to use for redoing the treated wood porches, deck, and stoops.  He asked us to remove all screens so his crew could clean all exposed portions of the windows.  When the crew arrived on the scheduled date, they worked continuously with very few breaks and completed the work in 8.5 hours.  The crew displayed the care and attention to detail as Mike had said they would.  We are very pleased with the finished job, the best we've had in the seven years we've owned the house.  In many cases salesmen say one thing, and workers do something different.  In Budget Pressure Washing's case, they did exactly as stated during the estimating phase.  We highly recommend them.

A+ Pressure Washing & Home Repairs
We had a wonderful experience. Scott and his co-worker were punctual, professional, and provided quality pressure washing services and gutter cleaning. When the job turned out to be bigger than he thought, he told my husband up front rather than waiting until afterwards to tack on extra charges like some contractors. Even when they realized we only had one external faucet, they didn't miss a beat and adapted to the situation. The house, porch, and concrete all look amazing and we will likely have him paint the porch for us! We highly recommend!

    • Mark and crew (M&M Painting & Homee Improvements and Del's Plumbing) did an excellent job all on all repairs and improvement. Made every effort to ensure things were done to my satisfaction. They were thorough and dependable. I will definitely use them again as soon as I start my next improvement project.
