The service worked fine. They did what they said they were going to do. It was a little expensive, but they did. The cost was over the $ 319 Big Deal. It seemed that they came out really quickly and took care of it straightaway. We would probably use them again in the future.

    Griffin Electric
I had paper on the floor because they were re-spraying the cabinets. I had ordered brand new cabinets. Buzz drilled through one of the new cabinets (that have never been used) while he was installing. That was okay because I figured we could fix it.  But I almost threw up when he gave us the bill. They charged us $1087 total; $135 per hour for each of his two electricians that came up for half a day.

My husband gave them the opportunity to cut the bill down. Buzz was very humble when my husband confronted him and he was willing to cut the bill but his father, Mr. Griffin, refused.  We paid the bill.

We looked at the last five years of what electricians had charged us on average. It was $45-55 per hour. We asked the guy who is installing appliances for our remodel and he said he would have only charged $400 for the job at the most. My cabinet guy said the most his electrician would have charged was $400-500. Buzz charged a lot of money, drilled a hole in the cabinet and there was electric debris left over. He said he would fix the hole, but we had our cabinet guy fix it, which he did for free. Buzz  left things a mess; I had to pick up all the papers and clean up after him. Even at the maximum, this is almost twice as much as it should have been for the job.  It?s not that the work is bad (it wasn't), it?s just that the price is outrageous and he left a mess.

We went to an attorney and were told that if we hadn't paid him, we were not obligated to pay him, since he had no license of any kind. When he was doing the work at the store, someone evidently reported him to the police and they came to the store looking for him. He is also a felon. That in itself is not a reason to complain about him, but the work he did for us and the way he overcharged us certainly is. We received no satisfaction from him about our complaints, and he walked out on us. We notified the Building Commissioner in Spartanburg, and they fined him, but he did show up for court. We had the building inspectors check our store, and there were several things wrong, including the pickets on the porch railing were too far apart by one inch, and the handicap ramp was pitched too high. Fortunately, we did not have to redo those items. Ed Lettelier is still advertising and working in the area. After talking with others in our area who he has done work for, their complaint is the same as ours. Doing shoddy work and grossly overcharging.

    BUZZ ELECTRIC
Overall this was a bad experience.  I would never use Buzz Electric or Griffin Electric again.  Nor would I recommend them.
