    Performance Heating & A/C
Performance was spot on! Tom is the owner. Tom did a great job! He put a zone system in there, in a two-story building. He figured it out, he solved the problem, where everybody else wanted to just slap the A/C in and be done. He put a zone in there, had one unit at the top the same temperature as the bottom. He did a fantastic job.

I put in a Ten Star unit and because Tommy had serviced it and put it in and did all the mathematician, I went from a 5-year warranty to a 10-year warranty by him installing that particular product. He gives a rep to them. That was a nice perk too.

No additional charge because their certified rep put it in, Performance Heating & Air put it in and then Tommy documented that. He submitted all of the documentation and then sent me a nice PDF from the company that shows me the warranty for 10 years. It?s all right there.

It was like $8,000. It might be a little extra, because I did the zoning on it and I could have slapped something in there, but he did it right. Lenard?s guy was pretty decent at this time too. Tommy did a great job.

He was competitive. He was funny, because he was fussing at the guys that did the sheetrock, saying ?you better now get any dust in my unit. He waited until all the work was done and then after the fact, when they were sanding stuff, he said, ?I don?t want any of that stuff in my unit, you guys need to sweep up!? He was tough, he definitely cared about his equipment, he may sure it was right, he double checked it. I was very impressed with Tom about it.

We have a contract with them for service and maintenance and we've had problems with our heat pump and had it replace and our electrical of the air conditioning and I had it replace, we're not use to heat pump so we came are from the north and now we are in the south so less than ten years only we had to replace twice, they contracted with the builder to do the original installation when the house was being built so we just stuck with them and they came out and they fixed everything and so far everything is good. They came out they had to asses the situation and had to order the part and that took a little while and then they came back out and replace the unit so the were reliable and they came back when they could after the part had to be ordered and so it was satisfactory. They came out timely and they didn't make the repair I guess it's the quality of the equipment. Their customer service is good when yuu call them they respond.

They were timely and again they had to come up and asses the problem and order the part and when the part came in and the called to schedule a day and time to come in and do the replacement. They tried to fix it and then it only lasted a short time so they came back and said it had to be replaced.

    Epperson Service Experts
terrible! they were late, had the wrong tools, then wanted to charge $1000 for a 7 minute repair. The part was $325. So a $700 service call?  Do not use.

They had had to call the manufacturer, because they didn't know what to do!  Very bad service.

    Lang's Heating & Air
Our heating unit had stopped working during the night. We called Lang's in the morning. The serviceman came promptly from Hilton Head. We were his first emergency call on a Saturday. He was professional and courteous, and most importantly, he had the correct replacement part in his truck. We were thankful for this since it was cold outside. The repair was accomplished in good time and we had heat again. We have used Lang's for the regular maintenance of our heating/cooling unit for quite a few years. They come twice a year to check the unit and service it. They are always courteous and professional. Because we have a regular contract we got a discount on this repair. We greatly appreciate that they are taking good care of our unit, keeping it running.

AIR TECH HEATING AIR & APPL
Sam Smith has been our HVAC guy since 2005. No complaints whatsoever. Timely, professional and reasonable prices. He's come out a couple of times to help me sort out the new programmable thermostats and didn't charge us. He's always giving us suggestions on how to keep our costs down and make our equipment last longer and perform better. We have two heat pump systems, one for upstairs one for down. I'd highly recommend him.

AIR TECH HEATING AIR & APPL
His name is Sammy Smith. He is excellent. It is a small two man operation. He arrives when he says he will. He is quick and efficient. He is clean. He is reasonably priced. He has never gotten it wrong and had to come back and redo it. I have used him over and over and he has never let me down. I have never been surprised by the price. His prices have been competitive. Every time the quality of the service has been excellent. He is very, very responsive. He is usually there the same day that I call him. He is very good.

Went great, like that they call when the service guy is on the way and call to schedule each visit ahead of time so I don't have to remember to.  Have been using them for 4 years now, they are a little bit more on price but the quality and level of service you get makes up for it. They definitely stand behind their work compared to the last company I had a maintenance contract with. They always bring up any issue and give me different options to resolve which is nice, that you know what the repair is going to cost before they do it. Got bad news on my last checkup that my compressor is on its last leg but hopefully it will make it through the summer and I plan to replace the entire system with them whenever it does go.

    KNIGHT AIR LLC
After at least two standard maintenance calls, the heat pump had problems within 1-2 months that possibly could have be prevented by better service performed at the 6 month mark, which I was faithful in following. In one instance, the drain line clogged. This could have been prevented. Another time, a piece of insulation had fallen onto the coils at the blower, and they had to make THREE service calls to discover the problem telling me that I wasn't changing the filter often enough and that this was the cause of the problem. I faithfully change my filters more often than required. NO, the problem was a piece of foam was being sucked against the coils by the blower. This also could have been prevented by more thorough preventive maintenance.
The whole time I was under service contract with this company, they never cleaned the outside coils of the unit, which finally had gone at least two years with no cleaning. Was impressed at first with timeliness of arrival, but technical aspects are lacking.
If a company makes their money on increased service calls based on less thorough preventive maintenance, I am not interested in using them.

This company charged me $735.00 to replace a defective HVAC part under warranty that they had installed. Their technician said it was a "big job that would take two men several hours to complete". Thus, the price seemed a bit high but in the ballpark. The company sent one person who completed the work in less than 1 hour. The owner was belligerent and argumentative when I called and questioned the charges. He said I had agreed to the price. Bottom line - I was charged $735.00 for one labor hour. They sent one person, clearly indicating that they knew the true scope of the job. This felt like a bait and switch scam.
