Dr. Spicer is absolutely brilliant. You go in, you tell her what's the matter with you, she looks at you and she says, OK, this is what's wrong with you, this is what you need to do. I would say it would be very rare for her to not know what's wrong with you. She doesn't give a lot of unnecessary medication. She's like, this is what's the matter. I can give you this medication or you could just do this and it will get better on its own. So she's not, take a billion pills. The only thing that's with them, is it's sometimes difficult to get an appointment, because they're so busy. But they're so busy because they're so good. So it's a trade off. Sometimes if you have a cold you'll go see a nurse practitioner, you won't see one of the doctors. They can confer with the doctors.

I love her.  She is just very knowledgeable.  She is very caring.  She wants to make sure that she is getting to the roots of the problem and if she has to refer you somewhere else, she does that.  I just think that she is really a good doctor.

I was assigned to a nurse practitioner , without consultation, despite the fact that I had made my initial appointment with an MD. I was unhappy with the quality of care I received from her (and I am myself a health care professional.)I found the front office staff unhelpful (refused to send request for my medical records out, for example). They were also really bad about returning phone calls eg made me wait all day for biopsy results. While I had no problem with the GPs professionalism or clinical skills, I found the rest of the practice unprofessional, sloppy and unwelcoming. I have since found another GP, and am delighted to be cared for by a well run practice.

They are excellent. They are very practical and give good advice. They don't immediately give you pills. They listen and that is very important. They are nice. I've been going to them for several years. We don't have a problem getting in.

    Ewens, Dr. Joseph D.
Dr. Ewens is our family doctor. He goes the extra mile in taking care of us even when someone is sick on the weekend. His staff will squeeze us in when someone has an unexpected illness (we have 3 kids) and he is very down to earth and pleasant to be around. He also has a very calm demeanor and practical solutions to the many ailments he is accustomed to seeing.

Tracy Reeves is not a Doctor, she's only a physician's assistant. When I asked to speak to a "Doctor", she sent me a certified letter saying that I will no longer be her patient. I am banned from any and all "Lowcountry primary care physicians" just because I asked to see a "Doctor". Now, I can't find a Primary Care Physician.

This was a visit to check status of dental implant surgery preparation and to evaluate if additional bone grafts would be needed. Due to the Dental Clinic being a teaching clinic the schedules are slower than a normal dental clinic.  Overall the service and the staff have been outstanding but graduations do occur and you get your schedule set back somewhat. The overall costs for the implants will be in the $4,000. to $5000. range which would be much higher with a private dental clinic. We are very satisfied with  the Medical University Dental Clinic.

My children (ages 16 and 12) and I have seen the LIttle's( both Dr. Mark and Dr. Mary) for almost four years now and I cannot say enough kind things about them. At times, Dr. Mary is outspoken, however she is not condescending and I appreciate her honesty when it comes to issues with my or my children's health. Our son has mild cerebral palsy and Dr. Mark Little is the first doctor that my son has ever felt very comfortable with(and we have seen a LOT of physicians in the past) Last year, my daughter was very sick with the flu and Dr. Mary saw her. My daughter had lost weight rapidly and was very lethargic . Dr. Mary was very proactive and ordered blood work immediately. Even after the results came back okay, Dr. Mary called me to check in on our daughter. Dr. Mark has been more than willing to help me getting the necessary accommodations my son needs at school. Bottom linethese two doctors CARE. You're not just another patient to them. I gave a B grade for punctuality because sometimes it does take a little while there..but, it's because they are taking the time to LISTEN to their patients and because if you need an appointment immediately, they will fit you in that day. Melissa and the other nurse who takes your vitals are very nice, however I have to agree with a previous review that the medical receptionist is very rude at times. When I enter a professional office, I like to be greeted with a smile and a hello. To me, that front office person represents the office and should act accordingly. She doesn't even look at a person when they come in. Also, I had met my deductible for the year and she charged me a co-pay for the visit. I tried to explain to her that I shouldn't need to pay anything and she got snooty and told me that if I didn't owe it and she made an error ,the office would reimburse me. Other than the receptionist, there are no other issueshighly recommend.

    Brown, Dr. Sarah H.
My family moved to South Carolina from California in 1999, and the only concern I had was finding a good Dr. She is excellent. Calm, friendly manner and puts you at ease. She welcomes questions and will discuss various forms of treatment. She also recommends specialists if need be- and the office staff works with your insurance to ensure that the specialist they recommend will take your insurance, which is a big relief, since, in California this wasn't the case- at least not when we lived there.
We live in Summerville, SC, and it is a 45 minute drive from here to her office, which is in St. Stephen, but it is worth the trip.

    Summerville Family Practice
Dr. Christopher Wimberly is a young, very pleasant, friendly family practice physician. He listens attentively to what I say. He is very thorough in his examination and does not rush you at all. He is very conservative, does not order x-rays or tests he does not feel are necessary just to appease his patients. He prescribes generics when possible. Very open to questions. Recognizes me when he enters treatment room and always gives his regards to my husband, remembering him and that he is also a patient. I would highly recommend him. He often runs over the appointment time but I believe this is because he spends as much time as necessary with all his patients, not confined to 15 minutes/patient as some drs.
