    Fletcher's Auto bod and Collision
in the last week I would give zero stars but that was not an option! Car towed to Fletcher's following an accident. Substantial damage to front end. Around two weeks in the owner told me of a slight bow in the frame that he assured, with 30 years experience, they could get it out. Days later I called them and was told that they were good to go, just waiting on a part. More days past, I called and was told the part kept being forgotten to be placed on the truck for delivery. They were frustrated as I and would look into it. Couple days later, I called again, mentioned that Christina was not returning my calls, so Chris offered to find out what was up and call me back. He DID call me back but the story of my part had changed. It was backordered and would not be in until Oct 17. On the 16th, Christina called me to inform me that there is another supplemental estimate being submitted to insurance, why, because they COULDN'T STRAIGHTEN THE FRAME!!! I thought it was a joke! This was a done deal, minus one part!!! The frame again?!? So I called my insurance, they looked into it and after a couple days got back to me that my car is going to be a total loss!! When I went to pick up my license plate, the owner apologized, told me the guy who was supposed to be able to straighten my frame was no longer with the company and that he should have been able to do a better job on it. They had my car for 32 days, strung me along with lies and did not return phone calls as promised!!! In short, they had my car for 32 days during which I was lied to and otherwise jerked around. I will tell anyone who will listen to my experience with Fletcher's Auto Body in Summerville, SC, 408 Old Trolley Rd. In the hope that they may avoid going through the same!!

Miles Road Paint & Body Service
They contacted us to make the arrangements. They arranged for the rental car company to pick us up at their shop. We received a text everyday with the status of our vehicle. Our car repair was finished a day ahead of schedule. We were able to leave the rental car there for pickup. Communication was great. Repair was excellent. It could not have gone smoother from estimate to completion. We would definitely use them again.

    Stokes Mazda
My wife and I each own a Mazda 3s. I had taken my car to Stokes several years ago for an oil change and was not impressed. The service writer tried to pressure me into agreeing to a valve cleaning that was not needed and they did not do the usual complimentary inspection. They also left a fastener off of the shroud under the car. I decided never to return.
Last year I received a mailer indicating that the service department was under new supervision so I thought I would try them again for another oil change. The service writer, Heather Strange, was very helpful, the work was performed in a timely manner, and I found no cause for complaint. Since that time I have taken both of our cars back for oil changes and have been very satisfied with the results. Each time I have dealt with Heather and she has been extremely helpful, courteous, and professional. I do most of the maintenance on our cars myself and I have found Ray in the parts department to be equally helpful.
I cannot comment on the quality of major repair work at Stokes but in my limited dealings with them they have turned my initial poor opinion of them around 180 degrees. I would be willing to take our cars to them for any work that I could not perform myself.

    NORTON & RICHARDSON BODY SHOP

I was rear-ended and went to Norton Richardson on recommendation of my dealer for repairs.  The other party's insurance company paid.

Alan and Todd were very personable and explained in detail the work that would be done. Scheduling had to be done about a month in advance as they are very busy but after I took the car in, I was able to pick it up in a matter of just a couple of days and they handled all correspondence with the insurance company.

The job they did was outstanding!  I would certainly use them in the future!

    HOELZ'S BODY SHOP
Made appointment for work to be done.  Had to delay 1 week due to other  vehicles damaged by February 2014 ice storm.  Took truck in on a Monday expecting in to be finished in 3-4 days.  Damages were relatively minor and vehicle could still be driven.  Two weeks later the vehicle was ready to be picked up.  Delay was said to be due to work load and "personal issues" with an employee.  Picked up vehicle on a rainy Monday.  A couple of days later when sun was back out, noitced paint finish was very poor and door trim strip had been damaged.  Took it back and they ordered new trim strip and they would call when part was in.  Waited about a week, called them and they said part was in.  In the meantime, my wife rode with me and tried to exit the truck.  Door would not open from the inside. Took my truck back and they were to paint and replace trim strip, fix the door and "buff" out the poor paint finish.  When I went to pick it up at the appointed time, they finally delivered my truck but the door handle was loose.  The service guy took it back to the shop and had the techs tighten it.  They next day, I noticed the paint on the trim strip was much lighter in colot than the adjacent door's strip and the door paint job was still very poor (you can feel the rough finish where they bumped it out.  I give up. Also they billed my insurance company more than the estimate.

    HOELZ'S BODY SHOP
At first all was well. Very clean facility. I was told I would receive text alerts on progress of repairs. This never happened. My wife wanted to deal with them since we were separated, and then she realized they were taking advantage of her. She felt that William was demeaning to her and was not attentive to her needs.
After I had gotten involved since it was my insurance that was fixing the damage, we went back on track.
I was not happy about the use of aftermarket parts, but that is an issue for GEICO. I wound up swapping out the strut that they replaced since the spring did not sit right in the cup of the strut.
I would not use then again unless I had no other choice.

    J T's Paint & Body Shop
They were absolutely GREAT !!. Repair was excellent, damage undetectable after repair, and delivered on time cleaned inside and out. Rubbed out the paint marks from previous bumbs at no added charge. They even billed at LESS than quoted even though they were my low cost estimate. Good honest people I would use again or recommend with no hesitation.

Maaco Collision Repair & Auto Painting
MAACO gets a bad rap a lot of times, maybe deservedly so.  However, if you just need some minor work done (small dents, etc.), and want to refresh that SC sunbaked paint in order to get a few more years of service out of an otherwise respectable vehicle, don't write them off.  I do suggest that you do NOT have the car's color changed, just repaint it factory original color (then you don't have to pay for door jambs, underside of the trunk lid and hood, etc.).  If it can wait, hold off until December/January to have your work done, they usually have half price specials then since their workload slows down as people postpone optional body work and painting during the Christmas season.  You don't need their top end paint job to just stretch out the life of your clunker, but I wouldn't get the lowest end paint job either.  Not that the work is bad, but the mid-range paint jobs have better warranties (which I have used once or twice, no problem getting any MAACO to honor the warranty).  Finally, plan on the car being gone a week, schedule it for a Monday, and thoroughly check it out when you pick it up.  They will cheerfully correct any overspray or drips.

    HOELZ'S BODY SHOP
I took my car to Hoelz.  William looked at it and gave me an estimate.  After agreeing to the price, he temporarily got my bumper together so I could drive it for a couple of days until I dropped it off.  The car was fixed promptly.  One great feature is that they text you to inform you of the cars progress though the repair procedure.  No need to call and check, you will know the status.

Miles Road Paint & Body Service
I was not impressed with reviews expressed on another site. However, after conferring with the insurance provider, Progressive, I was influenced to review Miles Road Paint and Body at Angies List. The reviews were much more favorable, and my concern was lessened. From the initial visit to the shop, I was impressed with the professionalism of all members of the team. The repair was completed within a reasonable time frame. The weather around the 'end' of the repair delayed the completion, but I was kept informed of the delay, and the 'new' delivery was adhered to. The resultant 'repair' is outstanding and the area of repair is not detectable from the original fit and finish. I am totally satisfied with the service provided by Miles Road Paint and Body.
