Auto Service reviews in Johns Island

I go there because my car is under warranty. I had to pay a little bit for some of the materials. It was great. We scheduled a time and I brought the car and they took it right away. They gave me a mileage checkpoint for the next service point. They were super.

We take them there for everything. They are honest, and they have been great. They are professional and knowledgeable. They are fast and friendly. We have took our cars to many different places, and they are the first to be honest with us, and they give us great service. We love them. They are super friendly and nice. They offer you water and coffee. They are real friendly to talk to. They try to work with you when you need to get back to work. We love them in there.

It was great. Price was fantastic. Everything was running smooth since then. They were good abut the scheduling. Since we run our own housecleaning business, we needed to use the vehicle quite a bit to transport all our supplies around. They were able to get us a nice time slot when we didn't have any cleaning to do. Got the parts right in and ready for us. We are happy we got their name from someone else. We used other places, and we are really happy.

    Steve Ellis Automotive Services
I visited the shop twice. When my car was up on the lift, Steve let me look at its undercarriage and verify the damage to its muffler section. This is an important allowance, as I need to see for myself whatever a technician claims is wrong. Then I told him that vandals had broken off one of my windshield wiper arms, and when Steve went over the estimate with me, he said he'd replace the wiper arm for free and charge me just for two wiper blades, which also needed replacing. I thought, "how nice; he's probably being generous because of the vandalism." So I committed to his doing the muffler work then and also to a return visit for the wiper work.
However, when I returned and asked Steve and his assistant to review the cost of the wiper work (for verification), this time they added in the cost of the wiper arm. When I balked, recalling the free quote I received on my last visit, only two days before, they ganged up on me and vehemently denied having made such an offer. I was quite insulted, as I have a very good memory. I let him do the work with the added charge, but I felt I had been duped into making the return visit.
Also, during both visits, his assistant (who may be named Susan; she never introduced herself to me) was markedly curt and downright unfriendly. True, we initially tussled over a couple of minor things: she asking for my car keys while I was busy filling out a contact info sheet, and her telling me not to walk into the shop area without permission. However, I tried to lighten the mood with conciliatory words, to no avail. While I sat in the waiting room, there was no small talk, and when I was leaving, there was no "thank you for your business" type of remark. She is way too bitchy to work with customers!

    Blanton & Sons
The short version is that the tech showed up right on time while being extremely courteous and professional.  This is a second home that we recently purchased, so we wanted to get an idea of how the HVAC systems were really looking and what we should be expecting in the way of future repairs.  The tech took his time in inspecting everything and gave us a detailed report.  He said the systems were in good shape except for one part that might go in the future.  He did not try to get me to do any repairs at that time.
Update:  While we spending some time at the house again in the month of June (all those days of temps above 100 degrees) that part the tech warned us about blew out and the AC unit on the main floor stopped working.  I made a call out to Blanton's and instead of putting me off for days, they actually were able to get the same tech back out to our property that day.  He replaced the old part (which he gave to me) and the AC fired right back up.  Total charge for everything was right around $200 which I thought was extremely fair.

    Hudson's Import Service
We dropped the car off on a Thursday afternoon and the car was ready by Friday afternoon. They completed all services that they provided an emailed estimate for. Our car is running terrific now and we hope to get another 100K out of it. All questions were answered honestly and compared to the dealer there were no surprises! We will definitely take our car there again.

This is the best place to go for honest, top knotch service on your car! As a woman I used to be worried I was being ripped off by autoshops. But finally we found John at Eagle and now our family and friends all go to him. I appreciate that peace of mind for sure!

    Re-Nu Batteries, Llc
I had battery failure in my boat!  Two large size 8's.  I checked prices and best price I could find was over $300. each.  I took them to Re-Nu Batteries and the owner checked them, topped up the water,  and put them on his renewal machines and charged them for several days.  They are now good as new.  He also said if it didn't last, he would apply the $35. per battery charge to new Deka batteries at $180. each (minus $35 or $145.)  Great price, nice people.

VW Jetta's alternator went out in James Island. Had the car towed to Tuppers automotive where they changed out the alternator. Had the car for 1 day. Did a great job and wasn't able to find a cheaper price on JI.

    European Road & Racing
Anyone who owes a diesel car will atest to how hard it is to find a good mechanic. These cars are very fragile. After numerous inquiries from colleges and friends European Road and racing was the auto mechanic that everyone recommended. The whole team was great. Had full 200,000 mile service with water pump and timing belt. Price was very resonable at $1700. They treated me like I had a BMW/mercedes even though it was an outdated jetta. You will see tons of BMWs, lamburginis etc on their lot. There is no European car that they cannot fix. Highly recommend to anyone who owes a diesel european car!
