Hardwood Flooring reviews in Hilton Head Island

  • NHance was excellent from estimate to finished product. Very professional. When they scheduled us, they told us it would take 3 days. Due to a schedule change, they were able to move us up and it only took 2 days. They sent me picures during the entire process; including how they covered my doorways, appliances, and ceiling before they sanded or painted. My kitchen was spotless when they finished. They even called before purchasing the paint to make sure I realized it had a yellow tint and worked with me 250 miles away to get the perfect color. My cabinets look brand new and I couldn't be happier with my cabinets or their service.

  • Andrew and his helper did a great job.  We did not have to do the whole floor and they blended the match so good that without knowing, you could not see the difference between the refinished part and the original part. Work was prompt and clean as promised.  Would recommend N-Hance to anyone looking to refinish a floor without the whole sanding process

  • Our four dogs destroyed the carpet in there by insisting the living room carpet was an acceptable alternative to going outside in a heavy rain. We needed a good flooring that the dogs couldn't destroy. After exploring wood flooring, engineered flooring and tile, we settled on tile. They installed the floor excellently, centering the room perfectly. The work was professionally done by men with a positive attitude. The sales person checked on the progress and repairs needed. We felt well-tended and love the floor.

  • Kenny and Brian were here for several days stripping the floors, sanding, staining and polishing.  They were so professional and detailed oriented.  Ken, Sr.  followed the job from beginning to end and put the finishing touches.  All the furniture was removed and replaced by them.  They did a beautiful job and now our floors and our home have a new look.  During the course of the job, they were punctual, started early in the morning and worked tirelessly until around dinner time.  I would recommend them highly.

  • Owner , Jim, has been in flooring business for many years. He has a small office/sample area. We showed Jim the style carpet we wanted from pictures, he contacted his supplier (Shaw), brought samples to the house and we picked the style and colors. Because some of the color samples were small, he had the supplier mail us larger samples. This was especially helpful, as one of the colors we picked was not what we wanted after we saw the larger sample. Jim always responded to phone calls and provided follow up information on a very timely basis. Carpet was installed on time and in a timely manor. The refinished floors look like new. Again, we had to match an existing wood color. After the wood was sanded, Jim applied 4 different stains in a small area on the floor, so we could pick the correct stain color. We picked the stain color, and his help proceeded to finish the floors. We had to coordinate time to do this. He was always on time, and did work as promised. We are very pleased with the final results of both the carpet and wood floors.

  • Andy came the night before to epoxy, repair and fill gaps in the wood.  The next day, Andy and the workers showed up as scheduled at 7:45 a.m., and continued preparing the floor for refinishing.  They moved the furniture, and since we didn't really need sanding, we didn't have to cover anything.  They finished the floor by evening.  Andy, the owner came back himself the next day and did the doors, columns and a wooden porch step.

  • Randy Vigh, the owner of Hardwood Floors and More, Inc., supervised the installation from its beginning to its end. He had a job site supervisor, but Randy was there to review all the work at the critical times as well as dropping in on the job from time to time. In order to meet our time table, he brought in two crews on a Friday to accomplish the demolition (carpet removal and old hardwood floor) and to prepare the surface for installation beginning on Monday.
The crews arrived on time and went to work. The job site was always neat and orderly and the attention to detail of the installation was impressive. We installed approximately 1.200 square feet of hardwood, and the job was completed in three days. The installation was efficient and not rushed.
When selecting an engineered hardwood floor, there are a lot of dealers that carry the same product. None actually carry the inventory. Because of the lack of need to carry inventory and because the product is the same no matter who the dealer is, your chosen product becomes a commodity and price and delivery are the only considerations. If something is wrong with the product, the buyer deals with the manufacturer representative to resolve issues.
The and quot;heart of the watermelonand quot; decision is the installer. If you make the wrong choice, the problems never end. That is why I would recommend without reservation Hardwood Floors and More, Inc. They perform quality work, are easy to work with, and they finish the job on time.

  • I contacted Warren about having wood floors installed. I informed him that I purchased the flooring and adhesive at Lumber Liquadators; as such, only required to have them installed. He became very rude and told me I should have Lumber Liquadators install the product. When I informed him that I plan to write a review on Angie's list, he became irate and verbally abusive. As a result, I abruptly disengaged by terminating my call. I understand he wants to sell product, as well as avoid any liability associated with flooring that may not be up to his standards. However, he needs to polish his communications skills by articulating his installation policy. Simply by saying something like, and quot;...naturally I appreciate you call, but I regret to say that we don't install products that we don't selland quot;.

  • Everything went well with the exception of two areas. We were sent 3 samples of hardwood. We chose one but then I asked to see more samples of the same wood. Turns out one of the samples was mislabeled. We chose Brazilian Cherry but the sample Brazilian Cherry was really something else. This was not Exact Flooring's fault since the manufacturer sent the samples to us directly. Still, it would have been a major problem if we'd ordered from the samples and then got the wrong wood installed. The second thing that happened was that when everything was done, they did not reinstall the toilet. They removed it to get the old hardwood up. They also removed the refrigerator and the stove. They reinstalled the refrigerator and stove but said I needed a plumber for the toilet. Since we were working with insurance and they needed estimates on everything, I was surprised that a plumber wasn't included in the estimate. Also, knowing we were leaving town the next day, I was disappointed that no one mentioned needing a plumber earlier. I asked if they reinstalled the toilet and was told no. The bathroom door was locked and it had not been locked during any of their previous work. Eric said he could run to Walmart and get a new wax seal but he said it in such a way I could not ask him to do it. They were behind on time and I think he really didn't want to do it. I would have given them A's on everything but with these two issues I felt I had to bring it down to a B overall and in professionalism. You can read my comments and decide for yourself if you think I was right about this. The wood is beautiful, they rearranged at least some of their schedule to install while we were in town. The pricing was good. We got a few estimates and they were pretty comparable to others. Overall, not cheaper and not more expensive. With the exception of the two areas mentioned, one of which was not their fault, the communication was good throughout.

  • I've found them to be very affordable, prompt, and they were upfront with the costs. They've been able to hand me a written estimate right after looking at the job initially. I believe they're a third generation company.
