Fireplace Repair reviews in Hanahan

  • I purchased the voucher from Angies List for the service provided.  Waited a couple of weeks for the chimney to be swept.
John did a nice job.  We  had  purchased the stove, (fireplace insert) from John at Ashbusters a couple of years before.
This was an expensive insert.  John also repaired our chimney which had water damage.  He did a good job on all of that too.
We have had him out 2 years in a row to service the stove.
    Here is the problem:
When I purchased the voucher from Angies List, it was very overpriced
When I got the invoice e- mailed to me from Ashbusters it was for $99.00 not $170.00.
When I called Ashbusters I spoke with Kimberli.  I asked her about the difference.  She became very unhelpfuland unplesant at that point.
As the coversation progressed, and she said "I don't know what to do about it. You bought it from Angies List., call them".
Oh my.  There is nothing that you can do to asist me?  At that point, she blamed a co-worker in Tennessee for any
misunderstanding that occured. She is the Office Manager.  I suggested that if she wanted repeat business from her customers, the way to get them to come back is to be professional and helpful.  Her response; "whatever".
When I suggested that I would not be able  to do business with them anyone.  Her response was "fine".
This doesn't have everything to do with money,  but just treat your customer like the important entity they are; your customer.
John can bust his hump all day, doing an awesome job, but if Kimberli is going to be rude and unprofessional, it is for naught..

  • The problem that we have is we in contact with him to put in a fire pit and that we had to have it done because we are having a big party.  In the contract, he said we will have this done by September 12th and the party was September 14th and they didn’t show up and they show up.  There was a crew that shows up and they would do something and then they will leave and we could communicate with them sometimes and sometimes they will ignore my husband's phone calls and text messages.  He assured us that all of his workers were verified and they didn’t show up for couple of days and it turned out that his master mason was in jail for being an illegal alien and then finally it comes 12th day and it’s not done.  They showed up the morning of the 14th to finish the fire pit and they had removed some of the landscaping and so we had this crew working in the backyard doing the fire pit and then the rental company shows up with the tent and the table and the chairs.  When he did do it he didn’t do it correctly.  I given him a picture of what I wanted and I want these rocks around the fire pit and I wanted it to look natural and they put them in with slight inch of cement underneath them and an inch of cement in between the rocks and it just look horrible and I given them two pictures, the same picture twice and I ended up having to text him and I said “this is not acceptable” I send out pictures and this is not what I ask for and you agreed and he came back out and he sent someone out to get them to fix it and is still wasn’t right and so I took another time for him to come out and personally do it but then after all the said and done we received a letter from a lawyer saying that they are going to lien on our house because he didn’t pay one of his subcontractors.  We were not happy with that even to say the screen porch that he designed for us we did have him put in which we have not done anyway. I’m not sure how he was on price because we didn’t really get a different other bids.

  • Our gas fireplace had not worked in over a year, and after trying to get it working ourselves, decided to get help.  Rick was polite and prompt and put down a tarp to keep our rug and hearth clean (nice).  He checked the gas lines, the electrical switch -- everything.  The problem was a clogged line and was fixed fairly quickly.  A few days later, we noticed a gas smell.  We asked him to come back and he did so, although it took a few days (we totally understood, it's a busy time of year for fireplaces).  He did find a small, but fixable gas leak which he corrected.  No additional charge, as is correct, I believe!  Job well done.  Would definitely recommend

  • After doing some research, I called Fireplaces Plus because they are a local company. I was able to get an appointment within 3 days. Ronnie arrived on time. After covering the surrounding area, Ronnie cleaned the fireplace and replaced the ash catcher. He allso answered several questions for me. The experience was pleasant and I would recommend this company.
