After Greene's was hired for the job, they were quick and professional with the work. The job was done on time and they did a great job of maintaining the other areas around where the wall and fire pit were installed. They were very easy to work with and talk to. They were extremely open to my concerns and made me feel comfortable throughout the experience.

The fire place came out Much better than we hoped for. My wife was so happy that the driveway paver project got finished and Clay blended in my work so you dont notice my novice attempt on the pavers. We are also so pleased with our beautiful fire place.

I was completely disappointed with his service. He brought out dead sod and admitted he got it at a discount. He told me he'd change it out when sod became available. Then he asked if he could be paid when the job was about 60% complete and I was dumb enough to trust him based on the last job he did for me. Well, he has not been back since. I'd call and text and he would tell me he'd be out that week - didn't happen over and over. Weeks later, I finally had to take care of the empty spots myself. If you've got a landscaping job - try someone else. It can't be any worse than this.

David was wonderful to work with. He was able to squeeze us in pretty quickly, especially considering that it is the start of their busy season. His crew was very professional and very hard working. They came on a Friday and worked 3.5 consecutive ten hour days (except Sunday) until completion. The finished project looks wonderful and we are really enjoying it. His pricing was very competitive and his responsiveness was unmatched by his competitors.

Everything worked reasonably well but, we never really used the fireplace until November (9 months after service).  Each time we left it on for more than 1 hour, the flame would just go out.
I called them today (january 26) and they explained that it requires a standard service call which will cost another $125!
I've owned several gas fireplaces over the years and never had such a problem, even after years of use.  The current logs are relatively new (maybe 4-5 years and were top-of-the-line when we bought them.
I don't know if I'm being unreasonable (which is why I'm giving them a C rather than D or F) but this just didn't feel fair to me.  I guess I'll get someone else to service it.

I now have the best looking driveway in all of Greenville County - hands down!

David and his full-time dedicated and experienced crew were completely professional and obviously very experienced in what they do. Viewing them removing the old concrete while using an excavator, a bobcat, and dump truck looked like their moves had been choreographed. They were so fast and efficient and never ran into each other.

This was a good-sized project and took their crew of six 5 full days. They arrived and started working around 7AM and did not stop daily until about 6PM.

David Byrnes, Owner of Hardscapes, Unlimited, drove to Salisbury, North Carolina to meet with me and the owner of Taylor Clay Products and make sure what was being offered would work well for us and he determined the correct amount of material at that time to make sure we did not have too little or too much.

The finished product is beautiful. They did a great job of preparing and compacting the base with proper grading, then gravel, and then sand before installing the pavers. They then filled in the cracks with the polymeric sand which helps lower water absorption and weed growth. They finished by spreading mulch on an adjoining bank, making sure my sprinkler system functioned properly where they had to side up to, and finally doing a great job of clean up.

Our cul-de-sac had to be the place to deposit some gravel and some sand. I made it clear that we did not want any damage to the surface of our road. David communicated this very well to his crew. They placed a worker in the cul-de-sac with a pressure washer, a hose and spent hours making sure it was left in perfect condition before they left.

You will enjoy and respect David Byrnes professionalism.

They did a pretty good job. I was able to use the basic decking instead of more expensive materials by filling in knots and screw holes with plastic wood before they put down 3 coats of Deck Over paint. That saved quite a bit of money. David was not on the job every day to oversee the work done by his crew. His workers came fairly regularly. The completion time expanded due to my requests to add things once they got going. I became anxious for the project to be completed so I volunteered to paint in between the cracks of the deck boards and to paint the storage room door which they had not done which they should have done.

A few months after completion, 2 boards became warped and needed replacing. One was on the large gate/door going under the house and one was on the steps going from the deck to the back yard. I called David twice and he said that he would come out to replace them. He never showed up. That was a disappointment. That would have cost him maybe 10 dollars in materials and one hour to complete. I had considered using him to replace my driveway. As a result of him not holding to his word about this tiny issue, I chose another company to replace my concrete driveway with beautiful clay pavers. This caused/causes me to question using him again. I want someone who absolutely will do what they say they will do and do it promptly without complaining.

    Accu-Brick Paving Systems
Our property, a small four-acre farm, had previously shared a driveway with our neighbors, which was on their property.  They informed us that they wanted to discontinue that arrangement forcing us to install a new driveway wholly on our property.  We had previously had a mostly gravel drive terminating in cement at that house.  The new route went in front of our home and necessitated the removal of our existing sidewalk leading to the front door.  The total length of the new driveway was in excess of a 1000' from the existing concrete at our garage to our road frontage.  We solicited several bids and looked at several different types of drives including concrete, asphalt, and pavers.  In the end we decided against concrete due to the way it weathers and can crack and against asphalt due to the regular need for maintenance.  We chose pavers for the portion in front of our home based on appearance and to add value to the home.  We opted to use gravel to run out to the road due to cost.
The team worked very quickly.  The whole job, which was extensive and required substantial excavation was complete within one week.  We were able to take advantage of some price breaks from the manufacturer to lower our cost.  Our flexibility in being able to begin work immediately and to allow them to dump excess dirt on our property further reduced cost.
We have been very pleased with the final product.
We did want to have a small paver apron installed at the road before transitioning to gravel, but they essentially balked at that primarily because there were two natural gas access valves in the path.  However, Accubrick sold us enough extra bricks that I was able to complete that work myself.  That would be my only issue, but I think they were within their right to refuse work they were uncomfortable with.

David Byrnes was one of the best service providers I've ever worked with. The project took one full week. A full crew of 6 to 7 men worked from seven in the morning until dark each day. And excavator, two bobcats, and a large dump truck provided sufficient equipment to handle the job easily. Their movements appeared to have been choreographed they were so efficient. The finished job is beautiful. I've had nothing but raves from neighbors friends and family.

    Imperial Landscapes
Our contractor was everything you could possibly want. Our project was everything you wouldn't want to take on as a contractor. Imperial gave us an estimate that was lower (10%-20%) than several other contractors we received estimates from. They were good companies with good track records, but Michael Dodson and Imperial seemed more in tune with what we were after. He had a helpful way of showing us possibilities within our budget and preferences. After a few meetings we were confident that we could get out of his way and we would be happy with the results.
Before we began were concerned about some physical features of our yard and problems that he might run into. He told us that once he we had a contract, what happened next was up to him. Our worst fears were realized and the substrate was full of granite (not the good kind either).  It cost his company time and money and equipment to work through it. Imperial refused to pass costs on to us even as we watched them chisel away at rock in freezing temperature to get us what we were after. Because his integrity and customer confidence were more important to him than recouping costs, his price never changed!
When some aspects of the project would have required work our Homeowners Association and neighbors would not have appreciated (blasting through the granite), Michael helped us rethink the possibilities and created something more beautiful than we could have imagined. The hardscapes and architectural aspects were so well done, and then they came through again with the landscaping. They were able to walk us through seasonal color changes in plant materials, growth rates, specimen and ornamental trees, bushes, flowers, ferns, ornamental and lawn grasses and more. At then end of it we had a great plan, which went in beautifully even in the winter. He was able to help us shave costs and get more bang for our buck. He also helped us (as people in the age of pinterest) to realize what climactically what would thrive and be maintainable. Don't miss the value of that kind of wisdom.
We and our neighbors are in awe that it's the same backyard and requests for contact info have been pouring in for the name of our contractor.
Finally, it's worth mentioning that the Imperial Crew (Michael, Josh and Hugo) were a delight to have around. They were always right on time, cleaned up daily, went beyond the contract, and even helped with some of my own home care (uncollected fall leaves). They worked hard and efficiently, and asked for nothing.  The crew members were gentlemen, well informed, and happy to dialogue with us when we had questions. These are guys you be happy to have back for a BBQ when the work is done.
When everything was finally done, and the crew was surveying their work with us and everyone was reveling in the moment, one of the crew said we have something for your wife. It was a piece of the granite they had spent an extra week chiseling through. He had polished it and clear coated as a token of what was underneath. Pretty cool stuff and it's now proudly on display.
We can't guarantee you that you're experience will be just like ours, but Imperial is a company that you would not regret doing business with. The price, experience, combination of professional and yet family feel, technical expertise, aesthetics, quality, and enthusiasm are what I would think would satisfy every customer. The main issue for you will be how quickly you could contract with them.
