Measurements were taken for the shades in January.  We were having our great room painted and they were very accommodating in scheduling the installation around that process.  They also allowed us to take one of the shades home early to match wall paint.  We also have a 20 foot ceiling which included four of the windows at second floor height.  Not a problem.  All of that was handled very professionally by the young woman who measured and by the installers.

We love the shades, measurements were very accurate and the installation was extremely well done!  We couldn't be happier. Nice folks to work with!

Mr. David Anderson did an excellent job building a detached garage. He provided a free estimate and showed up on time to discuss the job. He gave an estimate and did not go over the estimate on the price. He went above and beyond the job, wiring some old antique lights to the exterior that took extra time and patience. He even provided extra wiring for future projects without charging extra on the price.. I was very happy with the Garage, I would hire David again with no hesitation. Its nice to find someone that is hardworking and honest.

Provider was to paint ceiling.  I told the provider over the phone the size of the area and that the ceiling had popcorn ceiling and beams.  I wanted to know if they felt they could finish the job in the 6 hours of work I purchased.  Over the phone, they seemed to think it was no problem to finish.  When the workmen arrived, they agreed that it would be no problem to finish.  I asked for advice on painting or leaving the wood beams as is, and they advised lightly sanding and then painting them, which they said they could also do in the time frame.
They did not sand the beams but just painted right over the stain and varnish.  Also, they only finished about 1/3 of the job even with my purchase of an additional hour.  I would have paid to have them finish that day, but they had another job to do.  The second worker wasted most of the last hour I paid for outside - either smoking or maybe cleaning up, I don't know.
They offered to come back in a few days to finish, but I couldn't put more money into the project so I am finishing it myself.
They were pleasant but did not do a good job estimating the amount of time needed for this job, which was disappointing.  Also having the beams painted but not sanded is a problem.

I found David to be personable, knowledgeable, and reliable.   The breadth of his expertise and resourcefulness is impressive.  He was able to offer solutions, either by his own work or through subcontracting, for each of the variety of problems I mentioned.   David showed up when he said he would, and he kept me informed of progress on the projects.  When he encountered unexpected obstacles (which happens in OLD houses!), he would explain several options and give rationale for his thoughts on the best choice.  I never felt pressured into pursuing more than what really needed to be done.   As for pricing, David's total for all three projects (chimneys/roofing, plumbing/carpentry, and electrical) was less than half of the quotes that I had previously received from two different chimney companies for that work alone.  (David offered the removal solution for the chimneys, which had not been suggested by the other companies, but was definitely the best option in this case, partially because it was much more cost-effective.)  The original driveway project for which I called David will be completed in the months to come, and I look forward to continued work with Anderson Building and Remodeling.

After taking out everything (tub, cabinet, counter top, sinks, fixtures, flooring, window, door, and toilet) Anderson Building then tackled several of the code issues.  The 500 pound tub was on a weak floor joist; he replaced the joist.  He ran all new electrical and plumbing (code issue with the size of the plumbing for the bathtub also corrected).  Due to the weight of the tub, Anderson Building had to even out the floor, as it had dropped a good inch and the floor had become uneven and dipping into the first floor family room.
After correcting the floor, managed and orchestrated a new tile floor as well as tile surrounding the new tub.
Anderson Building orchestrated the manufacture and installation of the new cabinet as well as the granite counter top.  Installed all new light fixtures using the new wiring.  Installed a new bathtub and connected all plumbing / fixtures.  Was able to use the old toilet, as it was only 3 years old.
He took a length of 10 feet and broke up one side of the bath with a dressing area, while keeping the dual sinks and a beautiful upright cabinet separating the sinks to break up the space even further.  On the other 10 foot wall, he used the remaining 4 feet (the tub is 6 feet) and enclosed the toilet with its own door for privacy.
New doors (solid wood) and new window put in, with all new molding.

    Dark Corner Recovery & Towing
We would highly recommend Dark Corner Recovery to anyone that needs a shed moved. We tried to find someone to move our shed on
Angie's List but couldn't find one. We saw a sign on our way to Landrum and decided to call. We are so glad we did! They came out and gave us an estimate. Thomas and Kelly were professional and polite. We wanted to put it next to our house and Kelly noticed that the side door wouldn't have enough clearance. We hadn't even noticed that issue. They came on the promised date, on time and got right down to business. They made sure the building was level and safe. We would definitely use them in the future. (They also do towing and repossession)

The job they did was so lousy that we did not want him to work on the main house. The work was very difficult. There was a crew coming out and one guy did the work. The work took longer than it should have. They did not finish up what they said they were going to do. They did things differently than what we had agreed upon. In the end they said they were running out of money and were going to finish a bit. We were pretty dissatisfied with the work they did. They left a mess everywhere and I had to go and clean it up. We are having problems with the building now because of the construction they did. When the pipes froze in the winter it was a mess and we found all the insulation covers for the water pipe that were never put on. We had to shut all the pipes. They did not seal the corners in the exterior and they leak when it rains. Some of their subcontractors were good and the others were lousy. One of the subcontractors was coming in the late at night to do the work so the floor in the workout room is wavy so the refrigerator does not sit properly. Their punctuality in the beginning was great but as the job went on it worsened.

Our house looks really good from the street but when you get up close, the detail is terrible. The sewer system was all wrong and we have basically just had a lot of problems with everything. This has cost us a lot of extra money to fix. We would not recommend them to anyone.
