Fence Company reviews in Goose Creek

    Frontline Fencing LLC
Hired to build a privacy fence in West Ashley... took weeks to get approval (not builders fault) now he doesnt return calls. He took half the money up front, did deliver wood, which was put on grass which is now dead... we had to place wood in garage. I understand why contractors shouldnt be paid up front.. we are out this money... he never call back and set up a job time after dozens of calls and texts. Very disappointed in this!

I was not impressed with the workmanship or the company. Damaged boards were used and wrong gate posts installed. The fence was not connected to the neighbors fence which left large gaps. Bolts were missing from the gate handles and gate hinge. Cable box was broken. The original crew lead was disrespectful to both me and a neighbor. Crew came to job without hammers on one occasion; which I ended up supplying them with. Poor clean-up and tools, wood, and dirt thrown on plants and shrubs. The boards on the front gate were cut at a noticeable angle and too high at the bottom. The gate was never fixed to my satisfaction. The crew and operations mgr had to come out 3 times to fix fence. After the third time, I wanted a discount on the final payment due to the appearance of the front gate. According to the ops mgr, the owner agreed to the amount I wanted discounted. However, in a few days, I received a bill/invoice for the full amount. The one good thing about this company is the operations manager, Brandon, He was very helpful and he always did his best to fix the problems/issues.

It was horrible. The fence was done poorly. It had a 4-5 inch gap in the bottom. I pointed this out during construction and told them it would be an issue. Of course it didn't hold in my dog. They did not build it as I asked. Horrible attitude and won't fix it.

    Affordable Fences
Is there a higher rating than an "A"? If there was, I'd give it to Affordable Fences. The recent hurricane damaged my double fence gate. I called Mr. Stewart- he came out right away, gave me an estimate, replaced the whole gate, cleaned up the dunnage all in the same week. The workmanship is excellent! the gate looks great too. He is a true professional - and got the job done. He also fixed my mailbox post too. I will recommend Affordable Fences to everyone.

    Charleston Fence LLC
After calling Charleston Fence LLC, Matt promptly came to my property, listened to my ideas for installing a fence, answered all of my questions and wrote up a quote for the fence on site. After gaining approval through my HOA, I signed the contract and sent him a check for 50% of the cost. Once received, Matt was very easy to work with in scheduling installation and told me to feel free to text him with any questions or concerns.

Rather than having the materials delivered ahead of the job and dumped on my driveway or lawn, Matt brings all of his materials in on a trailer. I found that to be a much better method, and it was one of the reasons I chose Charleston Fence LLC to do the job rather than the other 4 companies that gave me quotes.

The first day of installation, Matt arrived, we went over the plans again and he explained the installation process. He quickly located my property pins (something no other company had offered to do). I'm so glad he did because my neighbor's fence was built about 4 feet INSIDE his property line so the placement of my fence line had to be adjusted from what we had originally planned. Matt was so good about advising me on the issue and calming my fears about this little glitch.

Matt, his partner - Nava - and 3 additional crew members spent about 4-5 hours setting the posts for the fence on the first day of installation. The ground was very wet from a heavy rain so they had to use a pump to remove water from some of the holes before the cement could be added. They were very careful to make sure the posts were set correctly and that the fence line was straight on the top.

The second day of installation, the entire crew returned to begin building the fence. They worked great as a team with Nava supervising the crew. Whenever I had a question or suggestion, they were very respectful and courteous with their answers or explanations.

The 6 foot fence installation was completed in about 5 hours. Then Matt and Nava spent about an hour and a half installing the 4 foot aluminum fence and gate between my house and garage. This involved drilling 16 holes through 4 inches of concrete to set the posts. They were very diligent and accurate as they completed the project.

When the job was done, they removed any lumber and trash that was in my yard, leaving it in pristine condition. I'm so glad I chose Charleston Fence LLC for my installation I highly recommend them for your fencing needs!

    Frontline Fencing LLC

We had a number of Fence Companies submit estimates. Frontline was about in the middle and we decided to use them due to reviews. Scheduling was difficult due to recent rain events and I had to insist they wait until the ground wasn't overly saturated in order to not damage the yard. It took 24 days to complete the fence from the day construction began. This was due to having them come back out twice to adjust gates and replace slats on one side of the house where they had left a 6-8 inch gap from the ground to the bottom of the fence.

The workers hit our water line when setting posts although I don't fault them for this as the line was not mark by the utility company correctly. However, one of the workers attempted to fix the break (incorrectly) and after three hours I had to call in a plumber.

The workers left the house without having us look at the fence to ensure it was to our satisfaction. At this point the gates were hard to open/close, and the above mentioned gap was left on one side which would have let our dogs get out easily. They also tracked mud and clay onto our patio and screen porch and did not leave it clean as they had found it. We also noticed they had damaged the concrete on the screen porch where their air compressor had been plugged in. They left 3 large gouges in our newly stained and sealed patio directly in front of the sliding glass door.

I called Jake and he agreed to meet me to look over the items I wanted to discuss. When he arrived I showed him the gaps and he agreed to fix. I also asked him to have the large piles of dirt and clay left from the post holes removed that were left behind in the yard. He said he would speak with his crew about the concrete damage.

Bottom line the gates and gaps were repaired to our satisfaction. He told me his crew denied damaging the concrete and offered no solution. His comment via email was " not really much I can do for any patio damage as these thing's happen during construction".

My review would be: The fence is of good quality. It took what I consider a very long time from start to finish . I was unhappy with the customer service regarding clean up (still dirt and clay in my yard), and the damage done by the crew. I would not recommend them or use them again. There are too many options to get this type of service.

    Barney's Home Repairs
Contacted Barney through Angie's List where he had a significant number of very positive reviews.  He was very quick to respond to our request and scheduled an appointment to review the work to be performed.  Barney prepared an estimate and e-mailed it to us over the weekend.  His pricing seemed fair so we signed the estimate for him to perform the work.  All the work was done in a very professional manner and when he said it would be done.  He and his assistant were very pleasant to work with.  We would not hesitate to use Barney's Home Service again and would highly recommend him for anyone's need for handyman services.

Verne came out shortly after I contacted him and requested an estimate.  He was 1 of 3 companies I contacted.  Vern's was the best price and my husband was impressed by the initiative shown by the young member of his crew who was with him.  It's rare that you see young people eager to do jobs that require hard labor, but this kid was anxious to start the job and show us what he could do.  Even before we gave Vern the "go ahead", he called to have the phone and electric lines marked so we didn't have to do it.  Once we gave him the "go ahead"  his crew was out there the next day tearing down the old fence and cementing in the posts for the new fence.  They were done in half a day!  Unbelievable!   Vern said they needed to wait 48-hours for the cement to set, and sure enough, 2-days later they arrived promptly and started to assemble the fence.  It took about 2/3 of the day to complete the fence (and I have a large back yard!) as Vern had promised.  During the work, I watched for a little while out of my kitchen window and I noticed one of the crew members checking the level on the fence and I guess it wasn't quite right so he took off the board, re-leveled it and nailed it back on.  That's the kind of attention to detail that makes a difference. When the job was done, Vern took me out to inspect every detail and I was very impressed at the quality of work done as well as the quality of materials used.  Vern and his crew are professional, prompt, courteous, and true Masters of their Craft!   My husband liked his work so much that we asked Vern to get us an estimate for a new deck.  I can't wait!!!!!

The company was awesome.  Matter of fact I recommend them to anyone, and if you want it done right and quickly they are the company for you.  The communication with the workers is very customer service friendly, they will treat you as if you are the most important person to them.  They are very friendly.   They are very patriotic and acknowledge great respect to veterans.

Overall good job.  New fence looks good with some issues.  During teardown and construction I would have preferred they were a little neater and cleaned up better once done (I found nails and plastic corner brackets from fence packaging in yard).  What they could have done better:  One board installed is split and will need to be replaced,  several boards have pulled away from cross member and will need to be retailed/screwed,  vertical boards should have been cut 1 to 2 inches above ground to prevent early rot instead of touching ground.  Wood not rated for ground contact so clearance is necessary to prevent rot.  I have not contacted the company since these issues were noticed and based on my experience with the company I am confident they will fix any problems once contacted.
