    Gentlemen Movers Inc
Did not abide by the firm price of $2500 we agreed to during our initial conversation; Final invoice did not have a balance due, but Robert Marye (or someone else on his staff) added a charge of $872 to my Discover card without my authority (disputed this charge on 20 Jan 15 and Discover withdrew the $872 from Robert Marye and put it back on my Discover card); Did not do a pre-inspection of the property and or goods thus failing to properly evaluate the amount of furniture that needed to be moved prior to moving me on 16 Jan 15; Did not provide enough manpower to accomplish my move; Said move would only take 2 days, but instead it took 3 days which cost me additional monies out of my pocket;  I offered assistance by reserving more trucks for Robert Marye to use, but he declined; Left numerous oil stains on my new driveway and did not offer to remove them; Charged me for his workers lunch hours;  Additionally, on 4 Feb 15, I reviewed my Discover credit card statement and noticed that Robert Marye (or someone else on his staff) charged my credit card again on two separate occasions and again without my authority.  On 31 Jan 15, a charge was placed my card for another $872 and on 1 Feb 15, a charge was placed on my card $200.00.  I have disputed these two bogus charges and asked that Gentlemen Movers be blocked from putting any additional charges on my Discover card and they concurred.  In my opinion, Robert Marye is an inept and unprofessional business owner who does things out of greed, lack of integrity, and dishonesty. He used the bait and switch technique to get my credit card information by stating that it was just a formality to give him said information since we had already agreed to a firm price of $2500.  Hire a reputable mover if you need one. TO ALL VETERANS, PLEASE BEWARE!

This follow up is to the response (see below) that the provider gave on 4 Mar 15:

Since I  have my own proof of what transpired, Robert Marye should know that I more than WELCOME his
legal action against me because slander is wrong, but only if it is not the truth! After reading his response, I
now understand why he has bad reviews. I will not go back and forth with Robert Marye via this channel
as this will be done in another venue, but let me say this though about this integrity deficient business
owner. The part of his response that I find the most amusing is the statement about me not mentioning the
oil spots. If I did not mention the oils pots, then why was he willing to use one of the blankets he uses to
wrap furniture to put under the truck to stop the oil from staining the driveway? eventually, we agreed that
a piece of cardboard would suffice and should be placed under the truck. I think it is crystal clear who the
liar is because he is well aware of what we did and did not discuss. If he is offended by the "veterans
beware" comment, then this will probably offend him also.....he is not a retired (20 + year) veteran and
there is a HUGE difference....so he should not use the word "veteran" too loosely. And by the way, if he is such an honest man, then why did he or his movers not return our two bed posts that were left on his truck. Although I did not previously mention the bed posts, he should have, as an honest man, returned the items that don't belong to him. But, of course, we know what his answer will be. Finally, I will be filing my own lawsuit for fraud, among other things, and if I am not mistaken, this will be the second time (and there could be more) that Robert Marye will have a lawsuit filed against him in the Pontiac Magistrates Court, or other courts, for moving related issues.

    Carolina Pool Tables Plus
After the sale there was a delay in delivery and we called to cancel the order initially.. However, after speaking to a manager in Charlotte, NC he convinced us to proceed and offered us a store credit for merchandise. The table was delivered in October 2014.. We moved back to house #1 in January 2015 and needed to move the pool table to house #2--- The guys that took the pool table down were extremely sloppy and had very little regard for my home.. The first thing I noticed when my puppies were playing with a strange object was they had left a couple of box cutter blades laying on the floor in the den.. This could have been a disaster. The next thing was in House #1 where they took down the pool table there were staples all in the carpet from where they pulled up the felt.. and wood shims all over the floor.. My family is frequently playing with the dogs on the floor and are barefooted in their own home so this could have caused serious injuries.. and one family member has diabetes so stepping on one of these could result in a severe infection..  Thus far I have picked up over 25 plus staples that were popped out of the felt and 15 plus wood shims..

    Gentlemen Movers Inc
I sold my home in Columbia. Gentlemen Movers were hired to pack and move my property to a storage facility, one they use for all their customers, for a period of three months while my new home was being built. At the end of three months they moved my things from the storage facility to my new home. While my property was stored in this facility it became infested with mice. Everything I owned was urinated on, chewed up or had feces everywhere from the mice. Every box I opened reeked of this. I also incurred damage to nearly every piece of furniture they stored. I also had several broken dishes and silverware that had been urinated on and feces on. Several things were just thrown into a box without being wrapped in paper as a professional would have done. Mr. Marye made a visit to my home in the early stage of unpacking and witnessed some of the broken items and the damage that occurred. I might add I am still missing items in my garage and items from my closet which they have no clue where it us since they put some of my things in another location because they ran out of room in my storage unit. I was not aware of this until they unloaded. I am certainly at a loss for words as to how they handled my personal property. It was in no way a professional job and Mr. Marye has in no way excepted responsibility nor have I heard from him in about three weeks. I feel this is a disturbing situation and for him to not initiate any follow-up to resolve the situation is not only unprofessional but a bad business technique. His company created such a stressful time for me when I should have been enjoying the move into my BRAND NEW home. Instead I spent the first two weeks cleaning up from the mouse issue. What a disgusting mess!

    Palmetto Specialty Transfer Inc
We used Palmetto Specialty Transfer for our move from Wildewood to WoodCreek Farms in July 2011. The whole operation was outstanding. We got a prompt and comprehensive estimate with everything spelled out clearly. We even had complimentary wardrobe boxes dropped a couple of days ahead. The guys arrived for the move on time - and the crew was very clean, professional and considerate of the property. Move-out and move-in were equally awesome experiences.

We actually had a delay in our closing that postponed the move-in +1 day...and the guys held our belongings on the truck while we got the paperwork sorted. Given the last-minute stress that an issue at closing presented it was a huge relief to not have to worry about re-scheduling the movers and paying some overage for the extra day of storage - Palmetto Transfer took care of it no worries.

When you are going to pay for movers you want to get professional service and peace of mind. We got it! Highly, highly recommend.

(Review is delayed as we just recently became Angie's List members...but I have been wanting to post this for two years.)

    Gentlemen Movers Inc
We are a VERY Type A family.  To make a long story short, 4 truckloads over a 2 day period with zero damage.  Would use again and definitely recommend.  All employees were very nice and the owner personally supervised the entire process.  Honestly, the entire move could not have been any better.

From A To B Moving Service
They arrived promptly and worked very hard. Very professional and respectful. There were a few items with minor damage (pressed board furniture), but they wrapped all furniture and avoided any damage to the houses. They finished in the time quoted and were efficient and did good work.

    Muscle Movers Inc.
This is the third time we have chosen Muscle Movers. That's unprecedented in our long history of many moves. We never used any mover twice. We were never satisfied enough.  Lionel Waterman says he will take care of everything - and he and his wonderful crew of professional movers do exactly that.  Lionel and Curtis' last words to us were "Are you satisfied with the move?" Indeed, yes!  A thousand times over. Professional, punctual, honest, and patient best describes their business ethic. We're proud to know these good folks.

    Gentlemen Movers Inc
It went extremely well. We were very pleased with their services. The crew arrived and went straight to work...didn't stop until everything was loaded and ready to return to Columbia. They were polite, respectful and professional in every way. We will always use this company for moves. The price was fair and the final amount was right on the estimate.
