FFirst, Remington makes some fine products. I have a Remington shot gun that I love. I use a Remington electric shaver, which easily competes with similarly priced Norelcos. And last summer I purchased a Remington 4 stroke leaf blower that worked better than any I’ve owned… until it didn’t. Primer bulb stopped pulling fuel into it and wouldn’t draw gas into the carburetor. The blower has a 2 year warranty, and that’s where everything goes south. While attempting to get it fixed, Remington and their warranty service provider, Mower Medic in South Jordan, Utah have managed to provide me the worst customer service I’ve ever received on any product I’ve ever owned! When I called Remington to find out who does there warrant work I waited on hold for more than an hour. They referred me to Mower Medic for warranty service so I took it in and told them the problem with the carburetor. Even though it’s under warranty they wouldn’t take it unless I gave them a $30 deposit. They informed me they were 10 days to 2 weeks out on getting to it. Well, okay. They called me back 2 weeks later and said it needed a new carburetor and it would be $126… which is about what I paid for the blower. I said no problem I have the warranty information. They said Remington doesn’t warrant the carburetor. Well, not okay. Another call to Remington…another hour plus on hold, and sure enough Remington said they don’t warranty the carburetor. The point is if they would have told me that when I took it in, I wouldn’t have left it. I only took it to them in the first place because of the warranty. So I went back to Mower Medic to pick it up. You guessed it…they wouldn’t refund my $30 (said it’s not refundable because they had to diagnose the problem.) This is NICOLE KAY, by the way, the manager of no customer service. I said I knew, and they knew what the problem was when I brought it in, but I thought it would be a repair and not a replace. She said Remington doesn’t allow them to do carburetor repairs, only replacements. I said What?! They’re not covering it under the warranty, what do you or they care what you do to fix it. Obviously, a rebuild requires some time and effort and the replace is a five minute job on a bad day. (4 screws and connect the fuel lines). The carburetor costs them $45 or so NICOLE KAY says, so $126 is a pretty great deal…for them! Like they couldn’t do the right thing for a customer, because…Remington! Right! Again, they didn’t tell me the carburetor wasn’t covered under warranty, and they didn’t tell me they only replace carburetors, not fix them, and they didn’t tell me my deposit wasn’t refundable. And when I expressed my dissatisfaction, NICOLE KAY became very defensive and rude…accused me of being unreasonable! Now I know…Remington products seem to be good, as long as you don’t need their VERY limited warranty service. If you do need to call them, plan on a morning or afternoon on hold and recognize that they couldn’t care less about your satisfaction with their service. Once again, that’s MOWER MEDIC in South Jordan, Utah. Ask specifically for NICOLE KAY if you want to throw away your money and be thoroughly abused!

FI signed a contract with Tyshon Cohen the owner of the business in January to build an walk in closet onto my house. The contract stated the work out be complete by 2/28/20. I gave him payment of 5733.00 which was over 75% of the total cost. He came out 2 weeks later and poured the concrete slab on 2/14/20. He did NOT obtain a permit that was required to build so I called him 2/18/20 to let him know that he had to get one before he did anything else. I provided him with the contact and the phone number to obtain the permit. After that I have not hear from Tyshon at all. He avoids all calls, text and messages. I even reached out the man that issues the permits and he was never contacted by Tyshon to get a permit. DO NOT HIRE him if you want the work complete and you money not taken.

FAppointment scheduled from 1:00 to 5:00, so I took the afternoon off work and stayed home. At about 2:00 I received text message that schedule updated to 2:00 to 4:00. At about 4:00 I received text message that repair tech had arrived. I went outside to greet him and he was driving away in his panel van. I called Sears customer service, they then called the tech and he told them nobody was home and that he had left a hanger on the door advising me to reschedule, all of which was pure bs. Then customer service wanted to know if I would like to reschedule. I told him "Not in this lifetime, and that I had a house full of 18 year old Kenmore appliances that would probably need some repairs, and it certainly would not be by them". With service like that it's no wonder they are experiencing profitability issues.

FI contacted this company on June 7 to service my Honda lawnmower that would not start - I received email response very quickly and arranged to drop off the lawnmower. I was told it would be 6 weeks to repair and I would be contacted when repaired. After 8 weeks went by with no contact, my wife tried to contact the company several times with no response. Finally after 10 weeks, we heard back that lawnmower would be ready later that week. We picked up the lawnmower and brought it home and to our surprise - it would not start - same as when we dropped it off. My wife brought it back and Mr Nelson looked at it the same day - he used some quick start spray and the lawnmower started. He said their was probably some debris in the line. We took it home and it started okay. Since this is now our spare lawnmower (we had to but a new one because we could not wait 10 weeks to cut the grass!) - we used it sparingly over the last 2 months. Two weeks ago - about 8 weeks after service was completed - it once again will not start. We feel we wasted our money with this service and will now have to bring it somewhere else to be repaired. Based on other reviews, it seems people have had good experiences with this company but we will never be back and would strongly recommend finding a more reliable and professional service for your lawnmower repairs.

ASears Appliance RepairMy lawn tractor had lost motive power. The service technician, before the service call, thought that the transmission may be bad, based on my problem description. He checked to see if the transmission was under warranty (it wasn't) before coming to my house. This enable me do decide if I wanted to have him make the service call before incurring the service charge. I decided to have him come anyway. When the technician arrived, he quickly diagnosed a loose belt. He had the correct belt on the truck, even though it was a Husqvarna tractor, not Craftsman, and quickly made the repair for a reasonable price. I am very satisfied with the service. The only problem was that Sears could only give me an 8AM - 5PM service window which meant that the whole day was blown. The service technician arrived at about 3PM.- James G.

ANORTHERN TOOL & EQUIPMENTThey did a very good job at a reasonable price, but all of a sudden they got backlogged and it took a month or 2 and you couldn't wait that long to leave my mower in with them. They used to be very reasonable but now they've gone up on their price. It used to be a tune up and a blade change and all that for $15/hr. They used to be pretty good but the more people using them and now they have a backlog and you just have to work around that. In the meantime they have gone up in price quite a bit.- Timothy C.

AMower Medic LLCMy mower would not start. The dealership was 2-3 weeks out on service. In checking Angie's List I found Mower Medic. They had some very good reports on MM. I called Carl and he came out in about 4 working days. He was prompt and professional. In less than 30 minutes he had made the repair and was on his way. The cost was only $63.00. Now my wife is happy again. And so am I. MM did a great job. Glad I found him.- David W.

ANCT Small Engine Repair LLCWe had two riding lawnmowers sitting in our garage, neither of which worked. After contacting the company, they gave us a price to come out to our property and pick up both mowers for repair. Once they arrived at our home, they reviewed the issues with each mower and gave us an idea of what was probably wrong and an estimated cost of repair. Sooner than expected, he called and gave us detailed quotes for both mowers along with letting us know what repairs absolutely needed to be done and what could be done but was more of a nice to have option than a necessity. He had no issue with us picking and choosing what actions we wanted performed on each mower. The following week, he brought both mowers out to our property and showed us they were working. He also provided some helpful tips as far as operating them and some information about the quirks of one of the brands.- Sherry M.
