Landscaping reviews in Daniel Island

Charleston Stump Stompers and Tree Service
I never write reviews because most people just give average service and I see no point in writing a review just to describe an average experience. These guys went above and beyond and did not ask me to write this, I'm writing this only because the great work they did made me happy. They removed 2 large trees and some small bushes. I had 4 companies give estimates for the job. Stump Stompers sent a professional estimator out the day after I called them. The other three services took a week to even give an estimate, if they even bothered. I called them several times before I finally agreed to the contract. Every time I either reached somebody or they called me back promptly, even if I didn't leave a message. Most contractors around here you have to call repeatedly and leave multiple messages. When I signed the contract, they told me 2 weeks and they were out here in two weeks. The other contractors were booking 6 weeks out and who knows when they will show up. And the cherry on top was they were the lowest bid. When they came out to do the work, I asked them to remove 3 large bushes that I hadn't included in the original contract. The owner, who actually does tree work himself along with his crew, gave me a great price for the additional work. I asked them to chop up some of the wood into firewood sized logs and they did it for free. They probably spent an hour cleaning up after the job and my driveway is cleaner then before they came. Do not hesitate to hire these guys!

    Mark Wenninger
Very well! Mark is very pleasant and professional, obviously knows what he is doing. He looked at my property and we talked about my plans and how to best deal with the stumps that were in place. There were 3 total to be dealt with and two were substantial in size. Definitely would hire again. Worked efficiently and carefully, arrived to job site a little early (good!). His secretary called the day before to confirm the appointment.

We purchased our home shortly before Hurricane Irma became a threat to the United States. I called Mark the week after. We were concerned about the many branches of the live oak tree that were too close to the house along with branches from other trees and palms around the house and garage. We never expected to find someone able to come before the hurricane might hit Charleston. Mark called me back shortly after I called and had me send him photos of the the trees we were concerned about. We were so surprised and pleased when he called back with a quote and said he could come and do the work that Friday or Saturday before the storm. He called Friday and said he could come early Saturday morning. Mark arrived a few minutes early. He did an amazing job of trimming the live oak branches away from the house, along with several other trees, He and his assistant cut up all the limbs into small pieces and put them all in from of the house for the city of Charleston to pick up. They put the largest limbs on the tops of the piles to keep the everything from blowing. While he was trimming the trees he discussed his vision for our yard. Without Mark's vision, we would not have the absolute eye-catching, stunning yard we do now! He worked very quickly and efficiently with such little notice to protect our new home before the storm. Words cannot adequately describe how much better our yard looks after Mark completed the work. We are thrilled and so pleased that Mark guided us in this project Our yard looks 1000 % better than when we purchased the house. We also discussed removing 3 additional large trees from the back yard close to the garage. Mark cut down these trees too, Again Mark did an amazing job of cutting down the trees, cutting the stumps to the ground, and cutting up the trees into small pieces and stacking them in front of the house. We felt Mark's quotes were extremely reasonable and could not be more pleased with everything that Mark did at our house. We very highly recommend Mark for any landscaping needs!!

This is the second time Mark has helped us with storm damage. This time he arrived early and, after a quick conversation with me about my concerns, immediately set to work. He did an excellent job trimming 2 trees and cleaning up a 3rd to keep it from dropping small, broken limbs on my car. Mark is responsive, easy to schedule with and cleans up thoroughly and neatly after he finishes. I also really appreciate that he will give me a "heads up" on any other issues he sees in our yard without any pressure to do the work immediately.

    Hardy Services Group LLC
They showed up, capped one sprinkler head, then left saying they'd give us an estimate to complete the job. One month later, we get a bill for $120 for capping ONE sprinkler head (and, apparently, a system check....thought that would be part of the free estimate). The estimated cost of completing the job....from $780 to $1020. Luckily, since we hadn't heard from them in over a month, we went with a different company (Walker Backhoe and Irrigation). Total cost with that company was $350.

    Tony SImmons Irrigation
I have had Tony Simmons do irrigation system work for me on three different occasions - the first was 2 years ago using one of the Special Offers. Tony is the consummate professional service provider and the most responsive contractor whom I have hired. He goes above and beyond the call of duty in providing exceptional customer service. Further, he is a delight to work with. I highly recommend you contact Tony for your irrigation system installation, repair or tune-up service.

    Scott's Lawn Care Services Inc.
Scott responded to my every question in a timely manner, showed up at the agreed-upon time, and did a great job installing 31 bales of pine straw. He went out of the way to get the quality of pine straw I wanted even though his usual supplier could not provide it.

    GreenSide Landscapes LLC
Mary is absolutely fabulous to work with! She is delightful to talk to, punctual, and professional. She was completely on board with my request to help me develop a phased plan that I can implement over time, as my budget allows. I selected a few bigger projects to start my "landscape makeover," and Mary answered all of my questions promptly and thoroughly. The work began right on schedule, and Mary has stayed in touch throughout the process to keep me updated. I am extremely pleased with the work so far and can't wait to see the final result.

    Outdoor Lighting Perspective of Charleston
Everything Outdoor Lighting did for us was exceptional. The initial test view of the lights was very helpful and allowed us to decide what we wanted and did not want. The quote was a bit high originally, but the company adjusted pricing lower to meet our needs. We asked for rapid installation as he wanted to have the lights in place before the holiday. OL came within two days of the initial visit and completed the work in a timely and quality manner. We were also very impressed with the internet based proposal approach and transparency of their information. I highly recommend Outdoor Lighting to others. Quality of product and service comes through.

    Tony SImmons Irrigation
After a bit of phone tag and scheduling issues, Tony and I were finally able to find a time that worked for both of us.  He is a cheerful, professional, and knowledgeable guy.  I'll definitely be using him in the spring to replace some old components we found which were broken and causing a large amount of water to be lost.
