    Addie Johnson helped us and she was absolutely amazing. As soon as she knew what I wanted she took over and planned everything. On a Saturday night she was securing Fast Passes for us and planned our days! Even when we were in the Magic Kingdom she was checking on FP availability. We got off one ride and when I opened my app she had obtained FP for our party of 6 for the next ride! She truly went above and beyond to make our trip special. She had all kinds of advice about rides, parking, where to dine, etc. She is a gem!

    Took the boat in' early in the week, got a call with the diagnosis and said parts needed, ordered.  Had a good idea going in about the boat's needs and Tom called and told me exactly what was wrong and nailed it.  The parts took some time to get for an older foreign-made motor, but his wife called and kept me up-to-date.   He is very direct and I have read where folks think he is rude and provides poor customer service.  I found him to be direct and professional.  His wife is the kinder gentle face of the business.   After the repairs, he went over the parts with me and showed me the broken and worn parts and made some maintenance suggestions.  The bill was big, but it appears he charged me mostly for the parts and gave a break on the labor.   Fair deal.  I am confident Tom can repair the most difficult problems.   My boat is running perfectly.    I will go to Tom Hughes Marine again.

    I take no pleasure in writing this report, but had a regretful experience Captains Choice Marine.  I was about to head out on vacation using the boat and motor.  I had concerns about the harmonic balancer on the engine and also wanted the water pump impeller replaced, trailer lights replaced, and fuel separator cartridge replaced.  I had 153 hours of use on the engine.

    From what I understand the harmonic balancer regulates engine oil dispersion in the engine.  It is well documented that Yamaha has had issues with their early models of F150 Fourstroke motors having failure of the harmonic balancer which could result in catastophic engine failure.  I asked Captains Choice to check mine to see if it was ok. They told me it needed to be replaced, so I went with it.  I am not confident that this repair needed to be done since the squeeling noise I was hearing turned out to be a "dry" drive shaft that runs from the lower unit into the motor, another negative characteristic of this engine.  Anyway, that is not my real issue. 

    During the same visit the impeller was changed in the water pump.  During my vacation and since that time the engine overheating alarm goes off while at low speed.  I should have noticed the water coming out of the engine was not at the volume it should have been at lower RPM.  So, I took the boat to another dealer who checked out the impeller and pump to find the o-ring in the water pump housing had been installed incorrectly which resulted in a loss of pressure and a lack of water cooling the engine at low speed.  The last dealer to service the impeller was Captains Choice, so it appears they installed the o-ring improperly.   

    Next Captains Choice told me the water separator housing was bad and needed to be replaced, so I went with it.  The techician removed the old fixture and lines and set up the new separator and filter inside the battery compartment.  I was fine with this change, but to cover up the holes left by the previous installation, the fitting holes were filled with what I believe is 3M #5200 caulk.  The caulk was sloppily applied which resulted in unsightly caulk smeared all around the old fitting holes. 

    Then, they replaced the trailer lights.  They changed the lights appropriately, but left the 4 marker clearance lights on the side of the trailer in an inoperable state.  This should have been addressed and a solution offered since it is illegal to tow a trailer over 80" without marker lights.

    I realize I should have given Captains Choice an opportunity to address these issues, but they are over 25 miles (one way) from my house and I did not want to take my boat and motor back to a dealer who I feel did questionable work to begin with.  Again, I take no pleasure in this report, but thought it should be shared with other consumers so they are advised.

    They basically sucked. It was a nightmare. It took them about 1 1/2 years to repair and it blew up right after I got it. They had to redo it and it took another year. They don't know what they are doing and they don't care if it works right. I don't know how they are still in business. It is probably the worst experience I've ever had with anything like that. They got the motor running but it took two years and I think it is running fine but I don't know because I got it back so late. He would leave the cover off when he was working on it so I have to replace the seats and carpet. He is a nightmare and you don't want to mess with him. They were pretty slow on responsiveness. He would call me back but then feed me a line of crap because he didn’t want to work on it. He was a nice enough guy. The service was okay but the service he gave sucked. I wasn’t happy with anything that he did. I would never recommend him and I would never use him again.

    We loved it! I had been dealing with a travel agency that was not so professional on the same trip. When I switched to The Travel Company I was immediately impressed by their professionalism and commitment to ensure we got what we needed. They helped us find a hotel that matched our tastes and we got an excellent room. We learned about a new area in Puerto Rico that we did not know about and it was wonderful. We received all the information and paperwork well in advance of the trip and when an adjustment was made, we got a reprint to ensure we didn't miss a flight. There were no problems with any of the reservations and we had a great time.

    The person I spoke with over the phone was unprofessional. At first I just thought she was young and learning the ropes so I tried to give her a chance, but the experience got worse and worse. First, I told her my husband wanted to know if there was an 800# we could call if anything went wrong during our vacation. The rep said there wasn't an 800#, but we could have her personal cell phone number. Then, she told me that we had to have passports to go to Puerto Rico. This differed from what we had heard so we called back and asked for a supervisor. The supervisor told us she "called the Department of Homeland Security" and confirmed that we needed passports. I rushed to the post office and paid $60 for an expedited passport only to find out this was not true. The last straw was that my contact told me a price for the vacation only to call back after I had said "book it" to tell me she had inadvertently quoted me a package without airfare.
