    Best Built Building Systems LLC
Mark Busbee provided a quote, specs & drawings for me to submit to my HOA for approval. After 2 weeks time, the HOA approved the work and I immediately tried to contact Mark for a go ahead to do the work, but he has not respond to either my emails or phone calls. Unprofessional, disappointing and a waste of my time.

    Palmetto Enclosure
David and his team were punctual from the job quote to finishing the install. They were great cleaning up and we were ready for our first weekend cookout for the summer. We had used Palmetto enclosure before at our old home in 2014. It was a larger project with the same great results. They covered a huge patio there and installed 3 ceiling fans. It was the first time in 6 years that we could use that patio during the summer.

    Palmetto Enclosure
We had Palmetto Enclosure build us a new deck, approximately 20x26, and screen in an existing covered patio. The deck was built over the concrete slab of the patio and extended into our backyard. After we agreed upon the details, it was about 3 weeks or so before they started work. It took a team of 2 only 4 days to build the entire deck and screen in the patio. The gentlemen that came out to do the work were EXTREMELY polite, courteous, and professional and did a fantastic job on our deck. They made sure to clean up every day after they left, and did a final walkthrough with us when they were finished with the work. I would highly recommend Palmetto Enclosure to anyone who is looking for a quality deck, sunroom, screened in porch, etc. David and his team were extremely helpful and professional the entire time.

Champion Windows and Home Exteriors of Columbia
It went great. They've done three different contracts for me and every single one of them was great. They got rid of all the screening and then closed it with glass, all the windows open like sliding patio doors, glass doors. There is two doors, one on either side. They did a beautiful job. I liked the whole thing, they were on time, they completed when they said they would, they cleaned up after themselves. The work itself was absolutely first rate, it was just a great experience, beginning to end. They were the only ones I called.

    Archadeck of Central South Carolina

The process was smooth and professional from estimate to punch out.  I got three estimates from different companies.  Archadeck was the highest estimate, but the detail provided in the estimate and the knowledge of the staff led me to have a much higher confidence that the job would be performed as described.  This turned out to be a good choice.  They handled the permitting, they expedited the approval from our HOA after I had submitted an application and didn't hear back, and they started when they said they would.

There were a couple of things that came up during the job.  I had painted my porch prior to the project in order to have new paint behind the new aluminum framing.  Some of the woodwork got marked up during construction and Archadeck went an purchased matching paint and touched up at no additional cost.  When the framing was complete, the transition between the new and old work was not pleasing to the eye.  Archadeck purchased, installed, and painted crown molding to make the transition appear as though it had been part of the original house design.  Again, at no additional cost to me.

I had a punch list inspection with our project manager, but I could find nothing to list that needed attention.  I work in the construction industry and enjoy working with contractors who take pride in the quality of their work, they are a joy to work with.  Archadeck is one of these contractors.  I am happy to have chosen them for our porch project.

    Palmetto Enclosure
On time, on budget, very professional and beautiful work. Dave Adams was on site all three days it took to complete. Very pleased with his crew's work and how they also cleaned up. Also helped repair some water damage/wood rot at the exterior door threshold.

We'll say this, since we worked with Cliff on this major project twice and we can still highly recommend him, I would say he's a rare find in a contractor.  Cliff is an architect as well, so he did everything from drawing the plans to the final punch list, and everything in between.  He is very detail oriented and stays on top of all of the sub-contractors.  If their work was not done in a satisfactory manner, Cliff would keep on them until we were happy.
On the planning side, Cliff is a problem-solver and thinks very creatively.  We had a lot of ideas and I felt like he really listened to us but helped us to edit them all down to come up with a very liveable solution.  He also helped us to design a few unexpected and highly custom details (for example, we put in a big barn door that opens to our playroom; Cliff had the barn door made from two salvaged wooden doors and it is one of my favorite things about the house)!
I can also say that Cliff is honest, which is not something you can always say about contractors.  He kept to his word, honored the price quotes he gave us, and we trusted him to give us a fair price for quality work.
He is also very good with his time estimation.  When the tree fell on our house, I was actually 7 months pregnant with our second child.  Cliff had everyone working around the clock to make sure we were back in our house before he was born.
All in all, I would *highly* recommend Cliff and Design and Remodeling Solutions.  We had a wonderful experience and love the final product of our house!

    Gage Construction LLC
Matt Gilpin was a marvelous general contractor and person to work with! He was very knowledgable about the best options to meet our needs, and counseled us on the pros and cons of each option so we could make a good decision. He kept on his sub-contractors to stay on schedule, and they were all extremely professional and responsive.
He provided us with a detailed proposal, and was able to easily provide us with a legal contract when asked.  As the initial construction went on we asked him to give us proposals for additional work - the roof, painting and drainage - and he always provided a detailed written proposal. He billed us electronically at regular intervals, and periodically provided a spreadsheet summary of all invoices with their associated constructions items. Whenever we had a question about an invoice item he always replied quickly with the details.
We felt so comfortable with the quality of his work and his professionalism that we added much additional work that needed to be done, but that we had been hesitant to do initially.
"Quality" is Matt's middle name! He was constantly on-site checking on the quality of his sub's work, and when necessary had them fixing things that we had not even noticed, no matter how minor. On one occasion he had a special repair technician come in to repair several minuscule scratches in a vinyl window frame that I doubt anyone would have noticed. However, Matt noticed and took the  extra steps to make the fixes.
We have already been recommending Gage Construction to friends and neighbors, and Matt got a re-roofing job for a neighbor from our recommendation.
Whenever you spend over $50,000 you are stressed out about whether or not you are spending your money wisely. With Matt Gilpin we had no concerns about that at all!

I have used Roddy many times over the years. I cannot list his prices because I do not remember; some jobs were done separately; others were done as a large total project . And each year prices go up, so please do not use my prices as a guide. First off, I want to say Roddy is very trustworthy. He has worked in my home while I have been out of town. He is honest and has integrity! He wants to make his client happy, and will do what it takes to find the right paint color, or hardware etc.
He did an excellent job with my shower. He has a fantastic ability to lay tile .

He does not push pricey tiles, and understands that his clients would like to save money also. Roddy was able to match the travertine tile we had on the floor in the bathroom almost exactly. The floor tiles were 18x18, so we chose 12x12 and the look was great. He even made suggestions to spark it up a bit by adding a smaller white tile across the middle of the walls (the same tile he used on the floor of the shower) I wanted a small shelf to place shampoo bottles and when Roddy found out how expensive the and quot;insertand quot; was, he made his own!

I knew I wanted thick glass sliding shower doors (not those ugly cheap ones you always see with tubs), and he found a perfect set for me and installed them for a very reasonable price. Roddy has made cabinets for me, window seats with storage, closets and enclosed our front porch. We are pleased with all his work, but he stays busy, so sometimes you have to wait before he can start your job. It is worth the wait.
