    M & T Home Maintenance Svc
After contacting M & T Home Maintenance Service through the email link provided by Angie's List I was able to schedule an free estimate for services. I had requested an estimate for each of the rooms listed above excluding the guest bedroom but have a separate estimate to include that room as well. $1245.00 was the total for all the rooms combined. I was very pleased with the estimate.
The work was delayed a couple weeks due to one of the primary painters being ill but once they were able to complete a prior job they were able to start and complete the job without any issues.
The painters began on Monday, 11/3, shortly before 11am (I was out of town that morning). We discussed each room getting serviced and a plan was formulated regarding which rooms were to be started and which was to be done last. It took slightly more than 2 days to scrape all the popcorn texture from the rooms. To start each day they took time to lay out drop cloths, hung plastic to protect my belongings, and moved furniture, At the end of the each day they discarded the popcorn ceiling covered plastic in large trash bags, vacuumed floors, and returned furniture back to normal. Only in those areas (i.e. my guest bedroom) where I gave my permission did they leave hanging plastic or tools such as ladders, paint buckets and the shop vac. By 11/6 all the rooms were nearing completion except for the living room. After the mud was applied and drying they took the opportunity to make any repairs in the other rooms and to paint the walls where the tape had removed some paint. David, the lead rep, had a small can of paint blended just for repair work. By the end of the day Thursday all painting was completed, furniture was replaced and the house was thoroughly vacuumed.
Over the course of the three days there were a total of three painters including the lead representative.  Each were soft spoken and very respectful gentleman. I felt very comfortable having them both in the house when I was there and when I had to leave to run errands. I am extremely please with their work and look forward to hiring them again in the near future to paint my kitchen (walls) and both bathrooms.

    Thompson Tree Climbers and Landscape
Thompson Tree Climbers was contracted to Cut down a 7-foot
tree, trim some branches, and remove remodeling debris from our yard. Initially
they were contacted to provide these services through living social, but they
failed to honor the advertised special. Since they were there, I asked them to proceed
with the work and I would pay them full price. They performed the tree work and
only some debris removal from the pile. They stated that they would come back
the next day to finish removing the rest of the debris. Some miscellaneous
debris was left in the pile for the next day including an appliance, a tire,
scrap wood, and plastic sheeting. I could not come out the next day so I paid
them the full balance prior to the last load being taken away. They never
returned to complete the clean up. I attempted to contact them every two days,
but have not gotten anyone to answer or reply (except once). They answered the
phone once and said that they would pick up the items the next day. It never
occurred and they have not answered since or responded to my calls. Yesterday,
I finally paid someone else to remove the rest of the debris for $100.00 since
it was obvious they were not going to finish or talk to me. While their website
and business cards say they take credit cards, I was told that they could not
accept them because he is having technical troubles in accessing his PayPal.

Good Ground Landscaping & Pressure Washing
Great Job!  Professional, Punctual and Neat!  He and his crew did what we wanted, and they were in and out in just a few hours.  They bagged up all of the waste materials and hauled them to the curb for pick-up.

Provider was professional, and acted as a great catalyst in starting us on the road to organization.   Later, she came in to help us stage our house, and made a real difference.  She was helpful, has good taste, and is respectful of our budget.  We would definitely use her services again, as needed, and have recommended her already to a friend.

    1.  Make certain you get a full contract in writing.
    2.  See their bonding documentation prior to them doing any work.
    3.  Inform them they will not be paid in full until ALL work is completed

     DO NOT!
    1.  Use Steve Miller and his associates for any tree work.  If you use Thompson Tree Service, insist Steve Miller and Associates not be the contractors.

Interactions over the phone were top notch: answered all my questions and were upbeat and helpful. They arrived within the 2 hour window. I would say the job was relatively easy for them. We had all the books and smaller items boxed and ready to go. We had the attic items brought down to 2nd floor landing, and the items in the room over the garage separated out and easy to get to. It took about 20 minutes. We had a very large pile of pine needles which they wouldn't/couldn't take because they and quot; only take items they can pick up by hand.and quot; They also wouldn't/couldn't take a set of weights and barbells. We were OK with that as we had pleny of other stuff to fill up the 1/2 truckload we had contracted for. The 2 men were friendly and professional. The job cost 99.00 which was more than fair. We used a groupon and according the receipt it would have cost 298.00. Full price would not have been a good value at all. However my understanding is that they give you a price after viewing the job, so it might have been less than that. All in all we were pleased and would definately give them an opportunity to give us an estimate for any future jobs.

They are great guys, very friendly, knowledgeable and easy to work with. They came in on a Monday morning and I took a couple of hours to walk around with them talking about the irrigation system problems and refining the statement of work. After that, I went to work and they worked through Thursday on their own. I would talk to them here and there after work if I had changed my mind about something or if they had run into something that they wanted to get my opinion about. The yard was always kept neat. They were doing such a good job that many people walking around in the neighborhood would stop and ask them questions. They finished the job on Thursday which was when they installed the sod. At that time, Mike made sure that all of the sprinkler heads were working properly and set up the automatic watering system to properly water the new sod daily. He gave me instructions on how to test the sod to see if it was taking root and what to set my irrigation schedule to after 10 days had passed. They were great to work with and, funds permitting, I hope to engage them again next year to fix up the other half of my yard. My yard looks amazing now!

    Mata Company Landscaping Service
Actual work went ok. Scheduling however was a nightmare. Switched from email to texting, then didn't respond to texts, nor reply when they said they would. Very very slapdash management.
