Sansbury Eye Center Inc - Northeast
Went well. They were very professional. My wait was almost non-existent. Their prices were very reasonable. I would recommend to others needing an optometrist. The cost below included my exam, new frames and lenses with premium upgrades to the lenses.

    Stanton Optical
I had my original appointment about a year ago. Bought 3 pairs of glasses at the sum of over $500.00. I had the anti-glare and scratch resistant coatings added to the lenses. At the time of purchase, I was told it there were any problems, my glasses were under warranty for 1 year. After less than 6 months of ware, the ant-glare and scratch resistant coating began to shrink away from the edges of the lenses. When I went back to the store to show them the problem...after all, they were under warranty, right? THINK AGAIN! Even under warranty, Stanton expects you to pay, even under warranty. My repair cost was going to be almost $300.00...What a warranty. Stay away from this Company, they are sham

    The Eye Center
The overall professionalism of The Eye Center, P.A. needs to be corrected. I should have left after my first impression on the first day of my initial appointment when I had to wait over two hours to be seen. Once my name was called, the technician didn't address me with any greeting but commenced to walk towards the rooms. After I shared my discomfort and disappoint, they switched her out with the office manger. He apologized and told my doctor. They also told me since I was a cash customer not insurance/medicaid/medicare, I should have been treated much better than I was. Dr. Clary waived my consultation fee and I was told I would never have to wait that long again. After that initial visit, they tried really hard not to make me wait but it was clear. This is a common practice of this office. The wait time is going to be anywhere between an 1.5 to 2 hours long. I promise this is not exaggeration. Dr. Clary himself was great for me but he stated that my procedure would help both my short and long distance vision. That I wouldn't need reading glasses for at least 2 years. Although my distance vision is 20/20, I needed reading glasses right away. I'm pretty certain it has something to do with the other surgeon (Dr, Clary was'nt available) dousing my eyes with too water when he removed my protective contact after the surgery. According to their instructions, I was not to have my eyes come in contact with ANY water. The next week, skin got stuck under my eye lid. It felt like a rock was underneath it causing my right eye to water constantly and close shut. I called the office all morning leaving three messages from the time they opened until about 1:00 when the pain was just to unbearable to endear. I drove myself very slowly down the highway 30 miles with one eye. Even the office staff at the counter, tended to treat patients with such low care and unprofessional. Even after I paid my 2, 800 in full, I was treated with such distaste. I can only imagine how they treat everyone else. I have 3 other members in my family could benefit from using this surgery, however we will never go through this office again.

    Miller & Flynn Optometrist
Dr. Flynn was very professional and explained everything he was doing along the way. He is soft spoken and VERY patient, taking the time to give my eye a thorough exam and getting the prescription correct. He explained how and why my eye have become dry over time and prescribed a treatment that has been working great. After a week of trial contact lenses he fine tuned my prescription. I decided to get a pair of glasses as well and the other staff (Dawn, Sara, Alissa, and Rain) were SO HELPFUL in picking the right frame and lenses for my needs. My vision insurance required that my glasses be made at the insurance's in-house lab and the final product was very disappointing, as was the replacement they sent. But Sara came to the rescue, going out of her way to have my insurance company cover the cost to make my glasses at another optical lab that's preferred by her. The results were stunning and the staff made a few fitting adjustments and ensured that I was 100% happy with it. In the 25+ years that I have been wearing glasses & contacts, I have never had an optometrist team go so far above and beyond to ensure my eye care needs were met. They don't have a very large frame selection but you're sure to find something of quality you'll like. Don't let the outside of the building fool you; the inside houses a team of dedicated staff who will look out for YOUR eye care needs. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for a great optometry team.

    Columbia Eye Clinic
Arrived early and completed paperwork BEFORE time of appointment. WAITED over an hour to be called to a room; WAITED 30 minutes for eye drops; WAITED another 90 minutes for doctor to give eye exam, ignored by personnel walking back and forth in hall. Doctor left, WAITED another hour for refraction exam. When completed, required to pay $35 in addition to insurance copay - informed insurance did not pay for refraction exam. Paid, then WAITED another 35 minutes for optical shop employee to finish with another patient before he gave me the prescription, after trying to sell me new frames. When I received the paperwork from insurance, discovered they DID PAY for refraction. The $35 covered all but $5 of amount disallowed by Medicare.

Arrived 15 min early, had all paperwork completed before appointment time. WAITED one hour to be taken to a room, eye drops, WAITED another 90 minutes for doctor. After glaucoma exam, WAITED another hour for refraction exam. After paying co-pay, CHARGED me additional $35 for refraction prescription - was told insurance and Medicare dod not cover refraction exam.. Then WAITED another 30 minutes to get prescription from optical shop - employee selling frames to another patient. Coincidentally ? the amount of physician's bills disallowed by Medicare and insurance was $40, AND insurance paid the additional refraction cost in full !

I said I was not going to go back there because I had a bad experience but my insurance allows me one eye exam a year and a glaucoma test. I thought, I should give them another try and they had improved so much.
They have like 8 ophthalmologists and they have an extremely good reputation. They routinely do LASIK surgery and cataract surgery however I made my co-payment  I got a bill in the mail and the insurance wasn't going to pay for it. I just had to drop it. I just feel like the cost is going to make me look somewhere else for that procedure.

    Markowitz, Dr. Bethany B.
I just love her. I've already had cataract surgery and she mostly now just sees cataract patients. When we saw her before she just started doing cataract surgery, she said she would keep us as her patients. I thought that was great because she's a really thorough and good doctor. We have been using her for probably about 5 years. She has an intern that comes in to do some of the stuff before she comes in. When she comes in, she kind of rechecks to make sure that things are the way they should be. Sometimes it is hard to get an appointment, at least one that's not way off. The office environment is very good although I've had to wait for over an hour. The staff is very friendly.

I was seeing dark floaters in my eye. The Doctor spoke to me on the phone when I called for an appointment and urged me to come in the next morning. My problem could have been a medical emergency and was treated as such. It wasn't after all but I was so appreciative of the quick action on part of the doctor. I could have had a potential detaching retina and potential blindness.
