    Tru - Bilt Homes, Inc.
My project included drywall repair of partial walls in a bedroom and bath due to sewer backup, demo of tile shower and replacement with cultured marble, removal and replacement of tile flooring in one very small bath/laundry area, and painting of walls in 2 bedrooms and the small bath area, as well as carpet in the 2 bedrooms. It has been 2 MONTHS and it is still not finished. Jim ( the owner I think, and who I dealt with) often just doesn't show up when he said he would be here. He will get VERY upset if you comment on something about the project that needs more attention, and although he hasn't finished my job yet it appears some figures he told me aren't accurate now that I see his final bill, sent a week ago although the job is STILL incomplete. An example of one of many small frustration with this company: He threw away the knobs to my bath vanity and the hanging apparatus that came with my bath mirror so if he doesn't show up again, I am missing parts to items I just purchased brand new! I will add to this review once my dealings with Jim and Trubilt are over. One of the vendors he sent over even said they would never work with him again. But for now all I can say is BEWARE! Pictures, texts, and documentation available upon request.

    Strokes of Excellence Painting
Reginald is the best. He painted our home and did an excellent job. He was always there when he said he would be and called if he couldn't, When my sister died he helped us get her house ready to sell which included removing furniture, painting and repair work. When he was almost done painting we had bathroom sinks put in and the paint was messed up when they put them in. Reginald noticed this and took a picture and sent it to me and just fixed it of his own accord. He is a top notch professional does excellent work and I would recommend him without reservation!!

    Sanchez Paint
Daniel's team at Sanchez Painting recently painted the entire interior of a house we had rented out for an extended period. The place was a disaster - hoarder who smoked. There was damage to the ceilings, walls, trim and doors. Very good job repairing damage and they did a nice job painting all of the surfaces - including the kitchen and bath cabinets. We had a punch list (which you always do) and he did not argue about any of the points and fixed them quickly and without extra charge.

    Choice Home Builders LLC
Choice Home Builders LLC (Mack Brazell and associates) was the general contractor for a repair job at our mothers home in Northeast Columbia. If you want an honest, reliable and reasonable contractor call Mack Brazell. The scope of the project was to repair a roof/siding leak; and install new wall/ceiling sheetrock and flooring where leak damage had occurred. After contacting several others, Mack is the only one who told us he COULD do it and WOULD do it! 1. Quality of work performed. The quality of work done was superior. Throughout the project, we were impressed with Macks commitment to generating a top-quality product. He really cared about doing the job right! He identified the problem and worked quickly to stop a long-term roof leak right before Hurricane Florence hit SC. Repairs to the roof, ceilings and walls was perfect. Mack and associates were extremely professional, courteous, and respectful of our mothers home and her availability. 2. Integrity and professionalism. Kept his word, kept us informed, was trustworthy and dependable. These attributes were greatly appreciated especially in todays world of shoddy repairmen. He always called before he showed up to inform us when he was coming. 3. Value. Choice Home Builders provided great work at a reasonable price. Mack went above and beyond what he quoted us..we were pleasantly surprised at the amount we actually paid. In summary, Mack Brazell is reliable and trustworthy builder who can repair or construct any type of residential building. Possesses a great personality and work ethic, easy to work with, and very respectful of the customer and environment. We cant say enough about how pleased we are with Choice Home Builders LLC.

    Mike's Sheetrock Repair Service
Mike was very quick to respond to calls or texts. He made sure the job was done right and made sure I was happy with the work. This is the second time I've hired him and he is the only person I'll call for drywall work. Dependable and does good work.

    Dave's A-Z Services
Beyond impressed. Of the 3 Angie's List service providers I contacted for quotes, Dave was the first to respond and the easiest to communicate with. I wasn't sure about going with him at first, mostly because he initially gave me a rather vague verbal estimate (I like to have things in writing) and his estimate was SO much lower than the competition (less than half of the next guy's quote, and literally a QUARTER of the third!). But he was quick to break down his estimate for me via text when I asked and seemed knowledgeable and certain of the quality of his work, so we hired him. No regrets. He had told me upfront that he was already scheduling two months out, yet managed to work in our small job within a week. Looking at the trim he replaced and the wall Chris patched, you'd never know they had ever been damaged. They left the house as clean as they found it. Fixed a window screen they noticed, just because. And as a woman, I can't tell you how much I appreciated that they talked to me about the job like an intelligent person and not some helpless, clueless female. My husband came home when they were halfway done, and they still directed questions to me, their point of contact. Very pleased with the speed and quality of their work. I would recommend/hire again in a heartbeat.

    Finishing Touch Unfauxgettable
Columbia Electric referred Finishing Touch to me. The electrician accidentally slipped on a joist in the attic and put his knee through the ceiling on a Monday. It was not until the following Wednesday Finishing Touch was able to get a gentleman out to make the repair. Once I was on the schedule, he was right on time (both times). Although he patched it, he did not patch it far enough and a hairline crack still runs in the ceiling (see picture). I also had to request he mud over the whole patch as it left a dip when a straight edge was placed next to it. The one gentleman said that you usually have dips in patches. Frankly, you don't when you know what you are doing. While he was here I arranged with the owner, Russ, to do some sanding and mudding on the walls, which I had already begun (I wanted to save myself some time on the bathroom renovation). I had to request his return because he failed to sand some areas and never mudded others that he had sanded. He did not dispose of the waste from the patch repair, but laid the broken pieces of drywall on the carpeted floor at the top of the steps in a pile (about a buckets worth). Granted, there were some unused parts of drywall sheets, but I found this unprofessional. He used a drop cloth, but after sanding he also failed to vacuum/sweep the dust from sanding and left it for me to clean. Overall, I feel I was an inconvenience for Finishing Touch and they were forced into this job due to their relationship with my electrician, and the effort to get me out of the way greatly impacted the quality of their work. In fact, the second time they were here I was not aware they had left (I was on the back porch). I heard their vehicles start and they were gone.

Triangle Arts Painting & Pressure Washing
Outstanding! Dan Boseman has done many projects for me over the years. He is a true professional who knows what he is doing. His work is impeccable, he is very reliable and when he gives the estimate, it holds up. On the negative side, which is actually a positive, he is very busy and you must allow for a little time before he may get to you. I view this as a positive factor as he must have plenty of satisfied customers that keep him busy. The biggest reason that I use Dan is because I have never had a project that he did not handle exactly as he stated. He is very timely, efficient and probably the cleanest painter I have ever used. When he completes the project, you would never know that he was in your house.

    Cardinal Builders, LLC
Cardinal was very knowledgeable, honest, and professional through the entire process. They communicated well whenever they encountered anything that wasn't previously discussed or if they came across a "hiccup" of some sort. They worked around our office schedule well and were good about monitoring their subs. Despite the low quality of the original interior of the office, they turned out a really nice product in the end. They were great about recommending paint colors and carpet styles and to top it off, they were very personable.
