I was amazed that there were no problems whatsoever and everything was done efficiently and WELL. In particular, they shipped a curio cabinet, mostly glass, and the packaging was absolutely incredible. No damage at all. I was definitely impressed with the entire experience.

Some things were broken. Two were repaired by professional, some were counted as a loss, Some glass replaced, one thing was poorly repaired before being brought out and not told about to me. I saw it and they then had it repaired by a professional (not perfect but just passable if you don't look too closely). Felt like a lot of effort in pretence of trying to be careful than actually being careful.

They moved our old house to storage in April. The move went OK, but the lead man actually asked for a tip when it was time to settle the bill. Not very professional in my view. At this point our furniture was in HD Auston storage for 4 months. The interesting thing here is during the time of storage, every invoice we received for the cost of storage was wrong. The cost was always wrong - they tried to bill for fees already paid - and the period of storage was always wrong too. Phone calls were made to straighten it out, and the incorrect invoices were always blamed on new software. But for 4 months? The move from storage to the new house was in July. The movers beat up some of the furniture - hard to do when it padded and now the good part. There were 2 TVs in the move. One was originally packed by the movers, and one was packed by me, in the original box. The movers reassembled the one they packed, but I was doing something else and didn't see it until after they left. When I did look at it, the entire screen was cracked. And remember that this was packed/unpacked by the movers. Why would you assemble a broken TV? The second TV, a 46" TV in the original box, was nowhere to be found. The lead man said he saw it when the furniture was being loaded, but it apparently never made it on the truck. The TVs were both 6 years old, but they still worked. But broken and missing TV s required that we but 2 new TVs, for an extra $1k or so. Our homeowners insurance had a $1k deductible, so using that was out of the question, and Auston's liability is limited to $.60 per pound, so if I do file a claim, we will receive about $72.00 for the 2 sets. All in all not a very happy exercise.

I've moved many times - both local moves and interstate. This was a very good experience.
When I called for pricing, the person with whom I spoke (Lysandra) was professional, personal and knowledgeable. She did a great job with the estimate and made a follow-up call after the move to make sure that all went well. She even factored in the downtime that was likely to occur since there was an elevator at my condo and concluded that I'd do better by using three men than two (it would get done faster). Pretty savvy, I thought.
The three men showed up on time and did an outstanding job. They were courteous and very patient. I'd measured some of the rooms at the new house and failed to allow for doors opening into rooms and other things that really affect furniture placement. They were very accommodating about placing some pieces in unexpected places. (I thought I had planned so well!)
AJ was the driver, and together with Scott and Moser, earned my respect and appreciation. The distance of the move was only four miles, but that doesn't mean it was simple. They took careful note of the blue painters tape, and if they moved anything in error, I sure haven't found it.
Great job -- I'd recommend Two Men and a Truck in a New York minute. In the past, I've used movers whose teams included people who threw McDonald's cups on the floor and looked like they'd just made it out of prison. These guys were a delight.

I have done several moves and its been very routine. I didn't have a account manager, but the people I talk to on the phone are very easy to get along with and friendly. I am moving for work so they are paying for the charges.
