    Ashbusters Chimney Service
Clean: could use some improvment. 2nd opinion Inspector asked if they cleaned the flue. I guess it wasn't up to his standards. Inspection/Clean: Way to pricey. $200.00 Estimate of Repairs: Over 7k. 2nd opinion got it done for way much less. Customer Service: Very Polite and Professional. Overall: I think they are very detailed and Professional, but pricing needs to come down.

    John O Syrjala Jr
He did really excellent work. He gave me a reasonable price up front and made no attempt to change it. We salvaged some brick from enlarging the size of the crawlspace opening, and the rest he went to a brick place and found to match. He then interspersed the new brick with the brick that came from the house so that you can hardly detect any work was done, even when you're staring at it looking for differences. He matched the grout in both color and style of application, and we are really pleased. He and his son came when they said they would, cleaned up after themselves, and were very polite. We have already recommended them to neighbors and would definitely use their company again.

Everything went great.  Lawrence set up the initial service call, showed up on time, took care of the work, and ordered the additional parts that we needed to fix the chimney properly.  Then once the parts came in he scheduled the service and took care of it.

E Ramsey Concrete & Masonry LLC
I waited 4 weeks due to other jobs he had lined up. Ramsey scheduled my job on Jan 4th, but called to say that he would be delayed a week due to weather. The 11th came and went. I called twice and left messages as well as sent an email, but never got a response! I found it extremely unprofessional and disappointing with how things transpired.

Lawrence and his nephew were very nice and professional.  Knew exactly what they needed and had everything on the truck.  They worked quickly and cleanly.  They moved everything away from the fireplace and laid down tarps to catch any dust / ash.
My fireplace was built in 1978 and Lawrence noted that there were minor cracks in the bricks in the fireplace and that the chimney skirt was cracking pretty badly but said that it should be fine for this winter but it will need to be fixed in the spring. I will certainly call him back for those two repairs.

    Ashbusters Chimney Service
This company came to our home 10/6/15 at 1300 and gave an estimate to repair our chimney $600 for repointing and $400 for waterproofing, a total of $1000. He told my husband it would take 5.5-6 hours to do the work, based on the time estimate my husband left work 2 hours early to be here prior to the anticipated finishing time to inspect the work.
Per the invoice the work was to began at 0900 and end at 1530. The same man who gave the estimate came to perform the work. He arrived at 0945 and when I left for an appointment at 1215 he was gone (truck gone, ladders gone). This was 2.5 hours.  I asked myself, "Did he go to lunch?" ..."but who sets up ladders for 2.5 hours, then decides to go to lunch and takes down all the ladders and leaves? Why would one go to all the trouble, why would you not bring a lunch or beverage?"  He did not ring the bell to say he needed to use the restroom or he was finished, he just left.  All repairs I have ever had done, the technician notifies me when arrives and leaves. My spouse left work early specifically and was home at 1330 to meet him and he wasn't here. The job was invoiced as lasting until 1530.
My point is this is what they do for a living, when they bid a job they know in advance how many hours it will take. They make their bid which factors in travel time, labor, risk, materials, set up, tear down, how many man hours it will take to do the job. Based on this $166/per hour (labor and material) is reasonable given the work and risk, but $400/per hour is outrageous. Doctors don't make that much.
I can not recommend this company.

    Schiferly Building Co

I interviewed Fred Schifferly based on his Angie's List reviews along with two other concrete contractors for my driveway project. I hired him because he gives you a strong sense that you don't need to worry about how things will turn out because he knows what he is doing and he isn't going to charge you for the job until it is completely done......and done to your satisfaction. If you are experienced in working with contractors then you know how rare that has become. I can say having watched the whole time that Fred Schifferly does quality work and does not cut any corners. Once again if you are experienced with contractors then you know that if you want quality work done by a reliable contractor then you can expect to pay a premium for it. I can say that the two other bids I received prior to meeting Fred were about the same in price but the contractors did not inspire the same level of confidence that Fred did. He did exactly what he said he would do and arrived each day early and worked late...even on Saturdays. He was even able to source the correct brick to match my existing brick so that my two driveways match perfectly even thought on of them is nearly 10 years old. I could tell that sourcing the brick intimidated the other two contractors but not Fred. Fred gives daily feedback to his customer and makes sure that you are happy as each new phase progresses. Just a great experience in an area where great experiences are pretty hard to come by. I highly recommend him.

It was an all day job. Repointing the brick on the outside chimney was very messy as he had to sand out the decaying cement before he was able to repoint. Be sure all the windows and garage doors are closed. After he was finished with that, he vacuumed the dust up and you couldn't tell that anything had been done. He then did the flue repair, repaired the crown seal and waterproofed the entire exterior of the chimney. The last thing was to replace two bricks in the firebox. He worked all day and did a great job. I would certainly recommend this company. They were very professional.

Very polite and reliable person. Did incredible work on the house and fence. He went above and beyond; suggesting improvements that would make the fence last longer and look better. I will definitely ask him to do work in the future.

Thomas Evans Custom Building and Renovations, Inc.
Thomas Evans brought amazing workmanship to my home renovation project. He transformed a tired outdated screened-in porch to a gorgeous all-season Florida room. In addition to being honest, Tom Evan's attention to detail, timeliness, responsiveness and overall quality of work is outstanding and A+ in all categories, including custom mason and tile work, window installation and custom trim work. This is the second home renovation project that this contractor has done for me and I highly recommend him for any home renovation work. I travel frequently for business so a large part of the work was done while I was away. But with Tom's management of the work, honesty, integrity and attention to detail, I was able to be worry-free as it progressed in my absence. Additionally, Tom brought to the project great design ideas, which were used.
