    Jos Dubois Clocksmith
My great grandparents Dutch clock is now running better than I remember it when I was a child (a while ago). Mr. Dubois accurately diagnosed the issues on the initial visit, made the delicate repairs to a bit of a temperamental clock (who wouldnt be at that age!), and returned it on time with perfect chimes, timing and even replaced a couple of things we had not discussed originally at no additional charge. He also corrected my misconceptions about cleaning and other care items. He is an artist, a true professional and a perfectionist. He was timely in meeting, reasonable in price and I am grateful for his exceptional skill and commitment.

    Mattress Firm
Even though I paid for nest day delivery, it took 4 days for delivery. I never received a refund. Once delivered, the "new" mattress reeked of cigarette smoke so I refused delivery. In addition, the frame was missing parts. I had to get a hotel room overnight to wait for a new mattress the next day. The mattress was delivered but no parts. I went to a local hardware store and bought parts. The entire experience was unacceptable.

    Wain Green Wood
Nov 14, 2016. Contacted WainGreen. We agreed he would come to my house to see the space where the table would be on Nov 23rd. No call, No show until almost 8 that night asking if we could reschedule for Friday or Saturday. I responded with it would have to be Friday. Sent message Friday morning NO call, no show on Friday. Received message on Saturday asking if I could come to his shop or he could come to the house that day. I responded that weekends would not work for me but I sent a pic of what I kinda was thinking. I met him on Sunday (Nov 27th) even though I had worked midnight shift. He was polite and drew up some sketches of what he was thinking. I gave him a deposit check then and offered to let him take my old kitchen table then since he would be using that wood for the bread board extensions. He declined so that I would still have the table to use. Sent an email FEB 23 saying that we could go ahead with plans and that he could come out and pick up my old table to use for the bread board extensions. I sent message on March 3rd saying that I was really questioning using pine for the top. Too soft and too "knotty". Asked his opinion. Was told I had several other options. He came back to my house to get my old table on March 15th and sent picture of other options for the top of the table on March 20th. I went to his shop on March 23rd to get a closer look at the wood. AFTER I got there he then said that the oak I picked out would need to dry longer and that he might not be able to use it right away. I said I was ok with waiting to be able to get what I wanted. From that point on I was given grief about everything from the wood that I picked out to the finish I wanted. Stephen complained SEVERAL times about having to spend the time and money to come to my house but yet he has no where to meet with clients except for his "workshop". I wanted to make sure that what he built would fit in my space so he needed to see it and measure it.First visit. Second visit. came to pick up my old table that I offered to let him take the first time he was here. Third visitdelivered table on MAY 25th. I had sent him a message making sure he would have help moving the table into the house (I am handicapped). Showed up by himself and actually had the audacity to ask me to help him carry said table. Thank goodness one of my male neighbors was outside and I recruited him to help. May 26th called Stephen with concern that the bases on the table are too close together to fit anything bigger than 2 16" wide chairs (and that is skinny) side by side. I sent him several pictures and asked if the base feet could be trimmed just a touch on each side to allow for a little bit of a wider chair. He asked for MORE pictures. I sent MORE picture with sketches of what I thought could be done and said I would think about having him build benches that would fit in the space. Sent him text on June 3rd asking about just trimming the width of the feet bases vs. building benches. He finally texted back on June 9th saying that he would like to come out and see exactly what the problem is and that we could trim the foot if need be one day "next week". I texted him back with my availability. Heard NOTHING from him until I texted him again on JULY 18th. FINALLY showed up an hour late today (July 20th) and gave me attitude from the moment he walked in the door ******** about everything from the wood that I "made" him use to the 4 trips that he had to make to my house. I didn't know that driving for 15 miles/30 minutes for customer service was such a trouble. The top of the table is starting to warp and he blamed that on me and the wood I picked out. Not on the fact that he didn't let it cure long enough! And he basically just moved chairs around my kitchen and griped until I was sick of hearing it and tried to remind him that I was the customer. He continued to moan and groan. This visit ended with me telling him to leave my house. All in all I would have been better off ordering a reclaimed table from Restoration Hardware. They stand behind their products and they are better made. (for the same price!!)

    Aviv Service Today
Guys were very nice but told me the problem with my dishwasher not draining was the pump which would cost about the same as a brand new dishwasher. So I bought a new dishwasher ran it and the new dishwasher wouldn't drain (same problem as I had with old dishwasher) A friend came by and checked the tubes and there was a clog from food in the tube that needed to be removed. The old dishwasher that obviously had no problems got tossed so couldn't return the new one. A food clog cost me over 500 dollars including the 90 dollars I paid them.

We were replacing all kitchen appliances. Wholesale Appliance took wonderful care of us, and our custom kitchen was not the easiest in the world to install the new appliances. However, everything went great! We were especially impressed with Mr Johnson who installed most of the appliances. He had to do a bit of extra work beyond what he was expecting, but he handled it like the pro he is!

    Signature Appliance Center
We were very disappointed. When we first went into the store, Jeff appeared to be very excited to help us. He took over an hour with us talking about options and promised prices within a few days. Then--nothing. We never heard anything from him. We called him twice. Once he promised the price quote that day. However, we just seemed to fall off his radar. It was very disappointing, but I suppose a silver lining in that I would have never known if the install would have gone well. Cannot recommend Signature as a result of our experience.

Powell's picked up the sofa the end of June.  They delivered it on August 19.  The slipcover had a number of fitting and stitching problems.  The junior Mr. Powell agreed that there were problems and took the slipcover with him to be redone.  Powell delivery representatives delivered and fitted the redone slipcover.  There were even more problems with the redo.  The senior Mr. Powell and his son came to my home to inspect the slipcover.  They agreed that it was badly done and needed to be redone.  They took the sofa and the slipcover with them.  I finally got an acceptable slipcover about two weeks later.  It was an awful experience.  My designer made innumerable phone calls and even visited Powell's to try to rectify the situation.  Office staff even blamed me for being too particular--this is while the Powell's agreed that the work was substandard.  Powell's used to have a good reputation in this area.  Obviously their work has gone downhill and their customer service is practically nonexistent.  I did get a discount on the price--half of what my designer felt was appropriate.

    Low Country Coins
It went surprisingly well. Surprisingly....only because I'm a natural skeptic.
I have some rolls of state quarters and wanted to determine what their likely value is. I've read greatly varying info on this on the internet with some claims that most are worth about $.40 ea and others that claim they are and will continue to be worth roughly face value for the foreseeable future.
The gentleman that I spoke with was very "down to earth" and answered my questions at a level that a non-coin-collector could appreciate.
In the end, we concluded that though it's possible that I may have one or two quarters that exceed face value, that the likelihood is not great. He mentioned, in particular, a couple of state quarters where for one reason or another that the likelihood may be slightly greater.
Two thumbs up for any business that doesn't waste your time trying to make a dollar. If ever I decide to get a formal appraisal I will definitely choose them.

    Elite Appliance Service LLC
I called on a Thursday, they came the next day. He was early, which was great. Walked me through what was wrong and showed me the various parts once he took the dryer apart and explained why there was a problem. Excellent service!

    John Eisenhart Piano Service
I have a grand piano.  It's always been finicky and difficult to tune.  It was moved several months ago, but I didn't know of a good technician in the Charleston area, so I let it sit (shame on me).
I found Mr. Eisenhart on Angie's List.  He did a fabulous job.  Tone is spot on.  Arrived on time, and got the job done in short order. Pricing more than fair.  I recommend highly; and will be engaging his services again.
