    I got a fast appointment. Was greeted pleasantly and given a brief health and dental history review. The billing girl helped me straighten out my dental insurer and got me in asap.
    Dr. Cordray came to the form filling area to say hello and welcome. I was escorted to the well lit and very clean and modern exam area. The assistant and Dr. worked together to get very detailed info. in exam. She determined my root was intact and didn't need to have a root canal. Yippee! I wasn't pressured into rushing crown, as I already had it scheduled with my family dentist back home.What a delightful experience.
    Charleston Dental is my new SC dental office and Dr. Cordray is great. AAAAAA.

    To continue, I was indeed fortunate that Dr. McKenzie Woodard was willing and able to provide detailed information regarding the three to four options in regard to replacing the missing teeth. She was most friendly and informative and provided me with sufficient information so that I could finally come to a decision on the options available. I would highly recommend her in regard to dental procedures and information on the basis of this experience. Her friendly and informative detail was exceptional and provided the necessary basis for my final decision.
    I strongly recommend her to those seeking dental services and information on dental procedures.

    Coosaw Dental
    I've been going to Coosaw Dental and Dr. Pare since he took over the office space that Dr. Parks vacated after he retired 4 years ago. The staff was nice and Dr. Pare took care of my dental needs adequately. He replaced fillings and installed crowns as well as the usual 6-month cleanings.
    My dental cleanings apparently became the primary reason that I was dropped as a patient of Dr. Pare. I drink tea so I end up with stains on my teeth that take work to remove. This has been the case since I became a customer of this practice. It was taking longer than the normal 1-hr time-frame allocated to cleanings to get my teeth cleaned. The past couple of visits the hygenist has asked that I come back for extra cleanings - a 3-month recall vs. every 6 months - but I was not informed that if I didn't accede to the extra appointments that I would be dropped as a patient at this practice. I even made my regular 6-month cleaning appointment before I left the office.  Instead, I got a vaguely-worded letter a week after my cleaning appointment telling me to find a new dentist. I had to call the office to find out why since a reason was not spelled out.
    I talked to Dr. Pare on the phone, and according to him, I can't ask to have them do just what they can get done in their normal time (there may still be some stains on my teeth), and there is apparently no way to bill me for the extra effort made during my normal 6-month cleanings. Dr. Pare said that his hygenist was 'ethically obligated' to get all the staining of of my teeth - which is purely aesthetic. My gums are healthy.
    • I was the one who had to find out why they dropped me.
    • I was the one to offer to pay extra for their time.
    • I never got feedback in prior appointments from the hygenist or Dr Pare that my suggestion to do what they could in the time allotted was not acceptable.
    • There was no effort to work with a long-time customer of their practice.

    Needless to say, I am very upset at how this practice handled this issue. Be careful if you are a customer or become a customer of this practice. You may find a letter in the mail after an apparently-normal appointment informing you to find a new dentist.

    Charleston Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

    Oral Surgeon, Dr. Riker and the Prosthodontist Dr. Richardson and have been the first to understand what I need. I was told by a friend who is a dentist what I needed and that I also probably needed an ENT. I have actually seen an oral surgeon who is also an MD specializing in ENT. (I have had sinus type attacks too difficult to describe, not sinus or allergy). It was his cat scan forwarded to these two doctors that showed the right side of my nose is completely blocked from top to bottom no matter how you turn the scan.

    Because of Dr. Riker and Dr. Richardson who Dr. Riker refers any patient such as myself, in three weeks, Dr. Richardson will provide the first temporary smile since 2006 that I will be able to actually wear in public and look like myself, smile the same, and eat in front of others. Being single this will be a huge difference in my life having moved to Charleston last year and not having a social life. I will then be getting a full mouth of implants which may take 18 months because Dr. Riker knows I need bone grafts which will make my mouth much stronger and also hold the implants better as well. Even with no implants I need these these grafts. Dr. Richardson will provide the teeth. The end result will be a full mouth of beautiful teeth that are just like my original. They are only removed once a year for cleaning. I brush them, use dental floss, etc. Just as I would my own teeth. I cannot give these two dentists higher praise since out of the ten I've seen, they are the first to actually know what I need to save my mouth, and my sinuses plus see what I cannot believe no one has seen before, the entirely blocked right side of my nose. It's like what's wrong with this picture?

    I had pleasant experiences with the dental staff. The ethnic Iranian dentist is stern, but nice; his assistant, a nice Ukrainian lady, is gentle while cleaning teeth.
    My disagreement comes only in the form of their billing. Prior to choosing Ashley Dental, I checked with them if they took our insurance and whether there would be any out-of-pocket charges. I also checked with our insurance. Our insurance assured us we wouldn't need to pay anything out-of-pocket for routine dental cleaning. At the window, at Ashley Dental, I was also told with our insurance, we wouldn't likely incur any charges.
    Sadly, we were charged for the routine dental check-ups. Because of Ashley Dental's decision to charge us for the routine check-ups, we went to another dental clinic on Rivers. We were there for three years, going every semester, biannually, for routine dental check-ups. We had the exact same insurance carrier, not changing anything to our coverage. We were never charged for the routine check-ups.
    I don't know the reasoning behind charging patients money they really didn't owe, except to make an easy buck. I have heard of a pretty standard medical billing practice of double-billing. Double billing is when the healthcare practice charges both the insurance and the patient in the hopes that the patient doesn't notice the extra billing and pays the charges that the insurance should cover. I don't know whether this is what is taking place here.

    This whole practice is wonderful, I have been visiting with Dr. Thomas Wier for over a decade now and my whole family is very pleased. I used to visit just for oral surgery with my children, but since Dr. Wier has become our primary dental physician and he is very accommodating. Always gets us in right when we need it.

    They are wonderful.  Their office staff is great. They are very, very punctual. There’s no room for ever waiting for a dentist to see you. They are very personable there. They file all of your insurances. It’s an easy payment plan. If you need a payment plan, they are willing to work with you too.

    Went smoothly.  Dr. Condrey is an experienced  professional.  He not only knows what he is doing, runs an effective and efficient office, he seems to really care about his patients.  He also is very good at alleviating any anxiety, especially with anesthetic injections.  I think his prices are fairly standard, but he doesn't act like he is looking at a patient with dollar bills in his eyes... Great guy.  I have also had good experiences with his dental technicians and the rest of his staff.  With several urgent/painful dental issues, he has found ways to squeeze me in to alleviate the pain.  His facility is very clean and relaxing. I have never regretted having him as my dentist.  What can I say... other than... May he "Live Long and Prosper".

    I've been seeing Dr. Hilton for about 7 years. I absolutely love his staff! They are so nice and always remember everything about my wife and I. When I had cavities filled, I also had to see a military dentist as part of a yearly checkup. First, the military dentist didn't find the cavities. Then after Dr. Hilton found them and filled them, a different military dentist couldn't find the filling because it was so well blended and didn't believe that I had work done. The dental hygienist is the best I've ever been to.
