  Though it took a little longer than told, the workmanship was unbelievably well done. Great attention to detail and anything that wasn���t the way we wanted was quickly fixed. Things were added and some revising of the plans as we went along were dealt with with equally meticulous workmanship and professionalism. There were no ���surprises��� to add to the cost of the project. Right from his first visit he identified some problems and told us how he would work them out. It was all included in the estimate. I can���t say enough about the way the project came out. They are not cheap, but it was worth every penny to get it done right

  I first connected with Cheryl when I  bought a Big Deal for 2 hours of design consultation.   That went well so I continued to work with Cheryl for a thorough updating of a number of interlinked items in my great room, entry hall ways and kitchen.  While we were doing granite in my kitchen, she also helped me pick out granite for our master bathroom.  She created what she called a "design plan".  At first that plan seemed expensive to me, but she stayed with me in making selections, decisions and changes throughout the project over several months.  Cheryl has access to specialty suppliers and materials that I would not have found on my own.  She also has contractors that she works with and had that leverage to schedule and oversee the work.  We had a couple of snags during the work (some incorrect materials were delivered by a supplier and an item was damaged).  It was a relief to have Cheryl  involved to get things set straight.  Cheryl is a great advocate for her clients and she jumped in to make sure my issues were corrected.  Cheryl was enjoyable to work with and I'm happy with how my project has turned out.  I feel that Cheryl helped me have an outcome that reflects my tastes.

  Cheryl is a lot of fun to work with.  Her ideas and color schemes were right on!  She managed to give us quality work on the budget we had to work with, staying close within that budget.  When helping us with out selections, if she couldn't bring the samples to us, she gladly met us at the store to help us in our decisions. Her contractors took much pride in their work. They are top notch and did an excellent and meticulous job, cleaning up after themselves before leaving each day. They worked well with our schedule and were more than accommodating if we changed our minds mid-point about a service they were doing.  She has been very patient with us as we wait for the kitchen counter tops to be installed so her contractor can finish our contract with the back splash. We are so pleased with everything at this point.

  Overall, the experience was good. Jim, the handyman, really know his stuff and proved to be an extremely honest and straightforward professional. Also, the Improvement Company offers pretty fair prices. They are responsive and are easy to deal with as well.

  Lorick's Plumbing And Home Repair

  They came out within an hour and verbally agreed to an $800 estimate. From there, they left to get the supplies from Lowe's. When returned two hours later and started on the garage door. They did not replace the door, but they replaced all the mechanisms. Then they moved on to a garbage disposal and two bathrooms.  They fixed four issues in total.
  
  Througout the whole visit, both Micah Noah and John Lorick bragged about their company and how they would stand behind the work for a whole year. In fact, they were very polite and we felt good about the work.
  
  However, two days later everything that they did unraveled into a big mess. All four repairs did not hold up and everything reverted back to the way they operated before the repair.
  
  We called them with our issues, but they hemmed and hawed about when they would come back. It's since been over 3 months and they have missed numerous appointments and ignored many of our phone calls.
  
  We have come to the realization that we are going to have to get someone else to come out and that we paid $800 for nothing. Avoid this company at all cost.

  In fairness, this was a fluid situation in which the remodel spanned 6 months. The design process was cumbersome, and at times, we felt somewhat alone in the process. We would have appreciated a bit more assistance in selecting materials, especially for the kitchen remodel. Thankfully, the granite fabricators recommended we go to granite warehouses in Charlotte to select our stone due to their extensive selection and our desire for color options. We would not have know that was an option unless we visited the fabricators who would eventually cut our countertops. Another example had to do with the selection of the tile backsplash. We knew we wanted copper inserts (4and quot;X 4and quot;), but the tile options I was given included 2and quot;X 2and quot; and 4 1/2and quot; X 4 1/2and quot; tiles. I was told we would just have larger grout lines. I ended up going to The Home Depot and selecting 4and quot; X 4and quot; tiles off the shelf that match our countertops and cabinetry perfectly.
  Our greatest concern had to do with the lack of communication. There were instances when we were informed the workers would be in the home and they did not show. At other times, we would go through a week or two with no update or progress seen in the house. While we understand the need to readjust priorities from time to time, a phone message or email would suffice. The most unfortunate instance occurred when we arrived home one evening about 7pm to find our furniture had been moved to the garage, floors had been sanded and were in the process of being stained. Although this was part of the contract, we were not notified of the date and time. As a result, we were not able to stay in our home and had to find a hotel for 3 nights and board our dogs. Though we were compensated for the 1st night of inconvenience, it could have been avoided all together.
  With any remodel project, you have to expect delays. We had delays due to incorrect measurements during the design process, reordering of damaged products and even delays based on our own decision-making and design changes.
  In the end, the kitchen looks great. If you know exactly what you want and don't mind researching and looking for materials yourself, Gerald and his crew can do the work for you. If you need someone to help guide you step-by-step, from design to completion of the project, I would go elsewhere. It was our hope to use this company for two additional renovation projects. However, we have now put those projects on hold.

  We couldn't be happier with the work or with the experience.  Matt took special care in meeting with us to determine exactly what we wanted, following up as we selected materials, and answering any questions we had at any time.  He was also sensitive to the fact that we wanted to keep costs at a reasonable level while still achieving a quality product.  Project Manager PJ was here every day making sure everything got done to our specifications and in a timely manner.  All crew members and subcontractors arrived on time, worked efficiently, and went out of their way to make sure we were inconvenienced as little as possible.  Daily clean-up was always performed..  Total amount of time to complete all renovations was three weeks.
