    Abbey Carpet & Interiors
Thedelivery menbrought them into the house and started to leave and I said aren't you going to spread them out. No, that's not our job. We ended up calling Abbey Carpet and I was told they would lay the carpet but I would have to tip them for doing it. The carpet pads were too big so they had to cut them down to the proper size. How Abbey Carpet thought I could do that is beyond me as I am 73 years old and have a bad back and knee. I need my wood floors refinished and was going to use them, but after the carpet fiasco I will never use them again for anything.

    All Pro Improvements Inc
All Pro was the primary contractor but the work was subbed to two other companies. Crystaline was the provider for the granite counter tops, vanity tops, and shower. Trubilt did most of the demolition and reconstruction. Both companies have been reviewed separately. Mac the owner, provided good communication but I felt could have been a bit more involved during the week to make sure things were progressing properly and met his standards in regards to quality and making sure the workers did more to protect the property. We had issues with workers not showing up when promised, and a few communications gaps that should not have happened.

This project was supposed to take from 4-6 weeks but stretched to just over 8. Not a real great experience but would call Mac again but I would do things a bit different next time.

I was looking for prefinished flooring.  I am a handyman and experienced in evaluating tradesman skills.  I spoke to the owner,  found him personable and knowledgeable.  He did not try to push product and services on me, which I find refreshing.  | |I asked a lot of questions and received spot on answers, all of which I did not fully appreciate till I later verified the accuracy.  Based on this more fuller understanding of prefinished flooring, I decided that any savings I would obtain by installing prefinished flooring was offset by the installation requirements and tools required, and I decided to go with standard red oak sand and stain flooring.  | |In conclusion, Abbey flooring told me what I needed to know, not slick talk to get the business.  I have respect for their standards and would recommend them for anyones short list.

    DOOR TO DOOR FLOORS, INC.
I talked with Paul Prince about just doing our home office on the Angies list deal (which was a very good deal). But my wife wanted to include our 3 bedrooms. Paul called me back the next day and said he ordered the carpets and they would be installed the next Tuesday. His workmen showed up the next Tuesday, they were on time and were very nice. we explained we had to work around our animals and they did just that. The furniture was moved old carpets removed and disposed of in the local landfill. ( not in front of our house). They installed padding and the new carpets swept up and removed scraps, moved furniture back. Very professional. This has been the best experience my wife and I could have imagined.

    Construction Specialties of Columbia Inc
We interviewed a number of potential contractors all of whom seemed to be capable. However, this was not an 'ordinary' bathroom project. Only Construction Specialties showed real interest in the design and collaborating with us in the modifications that were bound to occur "on the fly". They were very patient and willing to work with us on what was a somewhat difficult project. All work was of the highest quality and they are flexible enough to work with you on any aspect of the job. There was never any question as to their integrity. While a couple of the other bidders came in somewhat lower in terms of price quotes, I suspect that their final figure might have grown as a result of some of the unusual features that required changes as we went along. The finished project was everything that we hoped it would be.
Bottom line: Construction Specialties is highly recommended for quality work. They have an expert crew of real craftsmen at their disposal and there was never any issue with the quality of their work. I will definitely use them again.

I contacted Joab for an estimate and he came to my home within 2 days of my contacting him to discuss the job.  He was very thorough in explaining what all would be involved and pointing out things that I had not considered, such as moving drains and water lines, dry wall and linoleum replacement due to a smaller shower pan than the garden tub had filled, molding that would have to be added/replaced.  He was aware of my budget and researched shower units that would fit my budget and meet my need, without giving up quality.  He made suggestions that would reduce costs without sacrificing the finished look of the project.  He kept me aware of the status of the job and always consulted me on any decisions that were not previously confirmed.  He was accommodating in setting up meetings around my work schedule.  His crew took care to keep their path through the house covered/protected and cleaned up at the end of each day.  Joab was recommended to me by a co-worker and I am very pleased that he took on the job.  I would not hesitate to recommend him and if I do other remodeling in the future he will be the contractor I call.

The work was completed in two days and the transformation of the bathroom was incredible! Mr. Hay donated his labor as a gift to my two boys (it is the bathroom they use) and his donation is appreciated greatly!
