    Garlitz Cosmetic & Family Dentistry

Our family has used the Garlitz office for two years now. The service has been great. The staff are friendly and helpful to attend to our needs.  The office does a pretty good job of staying on schedule so you are not kept waiting.  Dr. Garlitz is friendly and knowledgeable - able to explain things in a way you can understand.

Not too good. They wanted to do almost $8,000 worth of dental work on me and it was just awful. I would never go back to them. It seemed like they were trying to sell used car. We just moved here and I went to the dentist in my old town in Georgia for about 8 years to get my teeth cleaned, checked, and everything was going okay. They didn't really do major work. You know, if it's not broken, don't fix it. Aspin wanted to fix everything that wasn't even broken to their standards.  I'm 65 years old and they wanted to re-crown and put implants. Other than that, they were available. I got in for my appointment quickly. They were pretty decent on what it would cost and what they wanted to do.

He's excellent. He's got a very nice new office. His staff is always very courteous. He takes time to sit and talk with you about what needs to be done and gives you best recommendations for things. My husband had some dental work done and they usually do something that needs to be done. Making an appointment is pretty quick. The office environment is really nice. There's no wait usually.

    Jennings, Dr. Ned S.
I had to have a new crown. Even though it was not scheduled, he performed the preliminary work immediately and I am already set up to get the permanent one.
I have been seeing Dr. Jennings and his hygenist for years, and although my location has changed
and it is no longer as convenient as it once was, I will stay with him. He and his staff are thorough, efficient, friendly, knowdledgable and considerate.
Dr. Jenningins always carefully explains your options and prognosis with each. For the first time in my life, I am not afraid of going to the dentist.

    Buchanan, Dr. Robert W.
The extractions Dr. Robert Buchanan performed on my daughter went very well. It ended up being a lot less traumatic than we thought it would have been. Dr. Buchanan prepared her mentally for what was going to happen. There was little pain and little anxiety. Everyone hates going to a dentist. They inform you as much as they can. They really do a lot of confirmation and information. They always call the day before to remind so they make sure that you're using your time and their time efficiently. Every appointment is business to them. They literally schedule exams six months out, if you need to change it there isn't a lot of flexibility for the hygienist. If you need to do something at the last minute or change it it's a little more difficult to jump into a slot so you stay committed to your appointment. I never ask them if they can call someone to see if the slot is available, I've just worked with the next available time. They're juggling the long range planning to make it convenient for you versus the short range if a contingency has to be made. They do things pretty much on time. Sometimes you go and you're 15 minutes early for your appointment like you're supposed to be and you don't get seen until 10 after. They are trying to treat each customer like they should and not rush them out the door. The Dentist called after her extractions that night and checked on her, so that was great it let her know she was a person to him.

    Walker Dental Care
    • Approximately 4-5 years ago, I had a crown replaced. About 1 year 1/2 later, the right canine (part of the crown) chipped. By then, I had stopped visiting this dental clinic. I did not feel comfortable with my doctor. This weekend (6 October 2013), I noticed that the crown is now loose. I take care of my teeth and I am frequently complimented on them. So, I was surprised to encounter a loose crown in less than 10 years. So, while this clinic got an 'A' on everything else from me, the clinic gets an 'F' for workmanship.

I love him, and I have been seeing him for 20 years. He is very prompt. He is always very professional. I think he does his best to minimize pain. I just had a really good experience with him for those preventive care and on other occasions. Sometimes, he is really busy because he is very professional. His chairside manner is very good.

    Jarrett R Newsome DMD
I have been afraid of Dentist since the 6th grade. Dr.Newsome has been my dentist since he took over Dr. Smith 's practice. Dr. Newsome has great staff. He is very through and always does good work. Dr. Newsome has very good office hours and you rarely have to wait over 10 min, but you do need to be on time. Even though Dr. Newsome has never given me a reason to be afraid, He always trys to put me at ease but I am very tense-not his fault. My last appointment required a filling. Much to my amazement I did not require a shot and it took less then 10 minutes. That is why it was my best visit ever and I am 64 years young. Thanks Dr Newsome.

Took my niece and was very happy with the Dentist's work. However, we were informed a few weeks later that he was NOT going to accept our insurance in the future. Our insurance carrier is a national company accepted by others.

    Blythewood Dentistry
We started with a root canal which went okay but there was some confusion on the price and they remedied that quickly.

A year or so later we moved on to caps on my lower teeth with a couple bridges. One side is lower than the other side, though they look good and have been very usable.

We did a full upper denture and initially they were great. Within a year they cracked down the middle of the roof my mouth. They were unable to repair them in house and sent them to the lab, who made it entirely too thick. It was like a hockey puck in my mouth. They initiated producing a new set and after a LOT of adjustments, finally gave me a usable set.

Within a year, it too cracked down the center of the top.

The process was begun to make a new one, since a tooth also came off and was never replaced / aligned properly. The lab owner came and through a series of appointments seemed sincerely concerned and determined to make a usable set of dentures for me. When the final product was delivered, it looked good except for one major point, the color was wrong.

The lab owner got frustrated and refused to do any further work and the office referred me to another process of having implants.

I went to another dentist who has made a set of dentures that are superior to the dentures that Dr Finkel's office is capable of producing.

This new dentist also found and repaired some decay during a routine intial exam that was evident under the very first work I had done by Dr Finkel on the root canal. This should have been found when my teeth were cleaned at Dr Finkel's office and he personally inspected, twice.

I no longer have any dental work done at Blythewood dentistry and do not recommend them. They are nice and courteous people who perform their duties professionally, but better work can be found else where.
