He surpassed our expectations for quality work. The Handy Man has performed numerous handyman activities at our house, and each time, provides a result which exceeds our expectations. We are very happy with the quality of work he provides and will definitely seek his service for future needs.

They're excellent.? I don't have any problem with everything they've done.? They're very professional.? They're class "A".? He knew exactly what he was doing; knew what supposed to be done.? He's great.? They showed up on time.? There were a couple of day where he couldn't go but he called ahead of time to let me know.? I can't complain about anything.? He's got crazy hair but it doesn't reflect on him definitely.

    Pristine Renovations LLC
I contracted with Pristine Renovations to renovate my kitchen based on Angie's List and the local cabinet company who had Pristine on their list of approved contractors.

My experience with Pristine Renovations was exceptionally good.  Pristine did the entire renovation of my kitchen and I am very pleased with the outcome.  The men who worked for Pristine were very professional and when they left each day, they cleaned up any mess they had made.  The entire renovation went off without any major hitch, which I felt was due to good communication between the builder, his subcontractors,  and the homeowner.  I was always kept in the "loop" about what was to happen next. I knew when and who would be  coming to my home for the next phase of work.

Did I pay a little extra for all this work.  Maybe, but if I did, it was worth it.  There is an old saying, "you get what you pay for".  Well, I got a
wonderful new kitchen and still have my sanity from the experience!

    DWB Inc
Very punctual. Gave me a thorough estimate of what needed to be done including costs for each. Discussed different options that I could do. Friendly and no pressure. Definitely a front runner for my renovation project. At the time I just needed to get an idea of how much it's going to cost and all that is involved.

The provider was doing OK although very slow - I was happy with the overall project. I praised his work continuously, thanking him for "helping" me. He rushed to complete enough of the project so I would have a kitchen for Christmas, as I had family coming to visit. He complained bitterly that I was putting undue pressure on him to complete the project, but he had originally promised to complete the work before Christmas. I did not insist on completion, but only to have the kitchen useable for Christmas.

In his rushing, the builder did very poor work. But, right after Christmas, he quit just before the detail work was to be accomplished. According to him, there was nothing left to do that I could not live with. But, wall board had been damaged with paper hanging from wallboard which still has not been repaired. The kitchen ceiling was repaired where lights had to be moved, puttied, but never sanded or prepped for painting. Cabinets have not been finished - huge gaps remain between cabinets, no ceiling finish, glue still marring the new hardwood glue-down flooring and he never finished the repair work associated with the flood. Large gaps remain on either side of my kitchen stove -- he suggested I use those spaces to store baking pans! His installation of hardwood flooring was very poorly done, but he refused to correct the problem, saying that nothing was wrong with the installation. The wood pops every time one steps on it and is not even at a doorway. Another builder will re-install hardwood to correct the problem, at an additional cost to me and finish the detail work. The provider left kitchen cabinets poorly installed with gaps between cabinets, cabinets not properly leveled, no finish at the ceiling. He never completed clean-up after installation of ceramic tile, and tile is poorly placed. We re-used cabinets from the old kitchen and created a pantry in the previous laundry room, but he left cabinets unfinished, and no counter top in one area.

The worst part was his bullying attitude, insisting that I pay in full immediately any time he presented an invoice. He usually showed up at my office, unannounced and insisted on immediate payment. Just before the final day he worked, he had told me his current bill would be less than $4000. I was prepared to pay $4000, but the bill was just under $5000. When I told him I did not have that much money in my checking account, he yelled at me and refused to leave my home until he was paid in full. It was a Saturday, so I could not get to the bank. I wrote a post-dated check for that next Monday and asked him to please not try to cash the check until I had time to move money. He did wait until first thing Monday to cash the check.

His cost was at least $10,000 more than he had indicated before he was hired. This builder would not give a written estimate, but charged by the hour. His work was very slow, so the cost mounted! He said it was my own fault because I added work -- work that he kept suggesting, but he never gave any estimate of what his suggestions would cost. The finishing work will cost me at least another $3000 plus supplies to complete what he did not finish.

A friend of mine had  a similar experience with this builder, and warned me not to use him. But this man seemed to sincerely want to "help" me. As a widow, I trusted his offer of help and unfortunately ignored my friend's warnings.

Actually, the guy that I talked to said that something else came up so I did not actually meet him again. It was a pretty good and expedient experience. It took him minimal time to give the quote. It did not take him a long time. He also came out and looked at things.

David did all of that work in just the span of one week!  He was working 15 hour days for 7 days!  I couldn't find anyone to do this work here in North Carolina.  You get an estimate and a bid, and you never hear from them again!  David is an exceptional artisan, because he can take an idea, and make outstanding recommendations with materials, colors, and design.  I would use David again in a heart beat.  I would give him A Pluses across the board!

He does great work.  He did a very nice job, very beautiful job.  He's not cheap, he's a good mechanic.  He knows what he is doing.  He's a good carpenter.  He only does the best work.  He works on big homes and works on these million dollar homes here.  He's the best cabinet maker I ever ran in to.
