    SEARS HOME IMPROVEMENT PRODUCTS
The shower project from ****! Can you image taking over five months and $5600 to purchase and install a new shower. We are talking shower, not new bathroom or kitchen, just one simple shower. Sears Home Improvements promised a 1-3 day install that ran for over five months. It took three sets of contractors, three reorder of parts and literally scores of phone calls to the Sears Home Improvements Office in Charlotte in get the job done. Two of the Sears techs measured incorrectly, and two others messed up the installation. My initial decision to use Sears over local, much cheaper tradesmen was based on their 1-3 days for installation, and complete customer satisfaction. Forget the 1-3 days, it was over five months, with half of that time having the shower out of commission and unusable. As far as customer satisfaction is concerned, Sears didn't give a hoot about my concerns, frustrations or numerous requests to get informed of the status of the project. Oh, did mention the black flies that came into my bathroom and house because the first set of installers failed to seal the drain leading to the septic tank. I don't know which was worse, the ineptness of the project install people or the total lack of any pretense of keeping me in the loop during the needless delays. You would think Sears values their corporate reputation enough to at least keep the customers that have supported them for decades happy. Sears used to be my go-to source for automotive repair, appliance service and repair, and numerous other consumer needs. That horrible experience has changed any thoughts I might have of purchasing anything from Sears in the future. Sad but true.

Barnes & Son Heating & Air
My refrigerator was leaking and my home warranty company sent Lee out to look at it. He was supposed to fix my refrigerator but ordered the wrong part (which took a week to arrive) and would not answer my phone calls when I tried to contact him regarding the repair. Lee came to my house twice and was very late both times. I would not recommend doing business with them because they don't seem to care about the customers' time and they lack professionalism.

    LANDRETHS APPLIANCE SERVICE
He refused to work on my dryer unless I removed the top piece. He had a helper but refused to come and repair the dryer.I am a woman and have no help to lift the top piece. Not sure if they are lazy or just don't need the business!

Sims Appliance Parts and Service, Inc
When I called and explained what I needed the person answering the phone consulted with the technician to find out they could not do what I needed, but instead gave me the number of someone who could. I thought that was really nice that they went the extra mile to help me find someone they recommended to help instead of just saying "No we don't do that type of repair".

    DICKSON APPLIANCE SVC
My washing machine was moving out of the laundry closet due to vibration. Mark corrected
the issue and I have not had any reoccurrence. After Mark finished the repair
he volunteered to reinstall my laundry closet door that I had uninstalled. Mark
called several times during the next few days to make sure the repair was working.
He was very professional, neat and courteous. I will not hesitate to call
Dickson Appliance Service if I have another appliance issue.

    LANDRETH'S APPLIANCE SVC
I spoke directly to Mr. Landreth and provided him the serial numbers of my appliances which he looked up while we were talking.  His response was there was no point in repairing  them, that I should just use them as is until they reached their end of life. Really!? What is this guy thinking?
I called a competitor who made all the repairs in a timely manner and for a reasonable fee.

Sims Appliance Parts and Service, Inc
The service man came out, determined the problems and ordered the parts.  The parts came in about 2 days and he came right back and installed them.  Everything is working just right.  The service man was knowledgeable and professional.

    DICKSON APPLIANCE SVC
I called their main number and after some phone tag over the course of a couple days got a call back from Mark who requested the serial number for my appliances which I provided.  I never heard back from them.

    Upstate Appliance Inc
The manufacturer provided us with two provider names for our six year old Frigidaire wall mounted oven so I subscribed to Angie's List to see how they were rated. Both looked OK but Upstate Appliance had the better reviews. The technician (David) arrived first thing the next morning as scheduled, listened to our problem with the oven and proceeded to run tests on it. He determined that a minor calibration change was needed and made the change.
The technician was knowledgeable and professional. He wrote his name on the repair ticket and showed us where his work was guaranteed for 60 days. We were very happy with his work.

    A&E Factory Service
The first repairman came out on August 12, 2013.  He replaced the control board on the dryer.  The total charge was $272.08.  When I got home from work, the dryer was in "Control Locked."  This was the original problem.  My son who home to let the repairman in the house said that the guy told him the dryer was fixed.
We called to try and get him to come back out to the house.  The next appointment would not be until August 15, 2013. I was home this time.  Steve came out and determined that it was the "Inner-face board."  The cost would be an additional $115.93.  Now we are up to $388.01 for an 8 year old dryer.  Steve ordered the part.  He said that UPS would deliver the part directly to my house on Friday, maybe Monday at the latest.  Steve did show up on time and was a very pleasant person.
This morning, Wednesday, August 21, 2013, I called A&E Factory Service's customer service to find out the status of the part.  You guessed it.  The part is backordered and they can not give me a date when they expect it to arrive.  She blamed the manufacturer.
Right now I am trying to get a refund on my credit card.  I will still have to pay $75.00 for the service call.  The second person I talked did not want to credit my credit card.  She wanted to wait and have a refund check sent to me.  I am extremely disappointed with them.
