    This is an old guy and his wife and while the wife is pleasant enough, her husband the repair guy, is very rude and ornery. I live in a gated community literally across the street from this guy. He knows he needs a vendor pass to get on and can only go to certain gates. When I tried to tell him where to go he spoke over me repeatedly and said he is going in the main gate regardless. He went and they wouldn't let him in, obviously. So he gets his WIFE to call me and say he cant do it. The other gate is jogging distance away from the first one. Go with someone else unless you have a fetish for verbal abuse and impertinence

    This company was very prompt, professional and easy to work with. The company came out to my house within 24 hours of the leak to prevent further damage. The company was very thorough in their removal of the damage and the drying process. The company also took extra measures to ensure the house was safe for my family, especially my newborn who was only 2 weeks old at the time. After the work was completed, Joel and his company worked with my insurance to get my full reimbursement. I would definitely rehire Carolina Aire and would recommend them to anyone in need of mold removal, water damage removal or any of his other services.

    Safe And Sound Security

    Mr.. Perkins made the original contact, promised installation, function and a remote, access key fob.  This was all in the written contract. When Scott arrived on August 3, 2010 with his installer, they did NOT HAVE the remote, but promised to get it for me.

     A partial installation  occurred that day, and I was told that the remote was on its way. It wasn't!  I made numerous phone calls, when someone Finally promised to bring one, they never showed up, and when I called again, I was told they did not have the part! Finally on October 26. 2010 an installer showed up, with the WRONG PART!  It's now THREE months after initial installation and it's still incomplete!.  They are however, having no problem billing me for service!

    In February the system began to malfunction! I made several attempts to "fix" it,  reset it, etc., but was not successful.  And no one from the service was available to fix it! On February 19, 2010 at 2:00AM, I received 3 phone calls from Safe and Sound Security informing me that my battery was low!  When I inquired if they could fix it, they said "NO"!  I would have to call the company to do so!  I made numerous attempts to get someone to fix it, NO ONE would come, no one was available, there was no truck, numerous excuses, but basically a refusal to honor their contract, and fix their defective equipment.  A malfunctioning home security system is worthless and so is the word/contract of this company and its workers.  After several attempts to get my installation fee refunded, since it was still under warranty, and getting no assistance from the Consumer Protection agencies of North Carolina, I gave up!

    This has been a very negative experience. And I would NEVER recommend this contractor or his services to anyone!

    Honestly some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Everyone, except one person, that I spoke with was rude. On the day that the technician was supposed to come out, after waiting for an hour and a half, I get a phone call on my cell that they had called my home phone and couldn't reach me (I was sitting at home this whole time) and they had already started home for the day. They said the guess they would turn around to do the work.

    I'm currently living in SC an I called them to change my tenants lock in Brooklyn. They were very professional and courteous. They couldn't keep our original time but they informed me an was on time for the 2nd appointment. I would use them again an I would refer them to others.

    They were prompt at every visit and notified us if they were delayed, even by just 15 minutes!  The cost may seem excessive but the McCords had drying equipment in AND under our home for 22 days. They were here daily to do the "readings" on temperature and humidity. They removed ceramic tile and hardwood floors.

    They also helped us "pack" our kitchen and dining room to proceed with the drying out and restoration / remodel process.

    They were courteous and profession at all times and considerate of our concerns.

    We would definitely use them again!! (Hopefully THAT need never arises!)

    The contractor was hired by the pool manufacturer to complete work from a former contractor that had bailed out on us during the install of our pool and spa.  PF&P did install the pool filter, but no additional work was completed.
    My Husband and I were wanting to purchase natural stone to install on the spa spillover.  After several discussions with the contractor, PF&P informed us that if we could not get the material within his time line, he would not be making a trip back to complete the spa.  Upon notification that we were not satisfied with his decision regarding the spa, he became very unprofessional, throwing material around, along with his cell phone.  He was extremely rude to my Husband when my Husband tried to explain that we were not going to settle on cheap materials just to get the job completed.  My Husband and I decided that we would contact a local contractor to complete the spa spillover.  We informed PF&P that they could finish the rest of the job, but not the spa.  PF&P only showed up for 1.5 hours a week later to complete the filter install.  After phoning a couple of times asking when he would return to complete the job, when asked, he hung up on me.  PF&P left us with an unfinished patio, an uninstalled pool light, and a big mess in our back yard.  The concrete that he claimed to have cut and removed was actually buried among clay and sand that he had applied on top of the concrete area.  He did not remove the cut concrete nor did he cut the area of concrete he was hired to cut and remove. The conduit for the light was installed but not the pool light. 
    I would not recommend this contractor.  Very unprofessional.

    It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It turned out really well. I installed everything myself and I didn't have any problems. Customer service was good and I've had it in there for 2 months and all has been going good. I paid the price of the Big Deal but because I wasn't getting the video camera, I think I paid another $60 because I was getting the heat and fire sensor. I did change a little bit. That was the reason why it was only $60 more. I need more than what was listed.

    I would like to point out a few facts, based on the company response.

    We had 2 estimates done for the flooring.   Estimate 1 was to replace all flooring with like flooring. Estimate 2 was to replace the laminate with tile, since the laminate delaminated from water damage, and that might include tiling the hallway, if the tile installer thought he could do a transition that looked good, to the carpet, hardwood, and vinyl.  We went to a local tile store, recommended by FGS, and picked tile, then waited and waited, and called FGS many times, because we had to use a tile installer through them, because like a previous poster stated, we had to do all work through them.  We never heard from a tile installer, after many phone calls and emails, so after waiting over 8 weeks, we called FGS and said to get this job finished, let's just replace all flooring as it was....and because we had been walking on bare subfloor for months, so, I can well afford tile, I was never provided the name of a tile installer who worked through FGS.

    I have had 3 laminate installations in here from FGS, the first one was a tile look, and there were problems, which were inspected, and I have the email in hand stating we were approved for new laminate, so we picked new laminate, after a long search because  FGS wrote me an email stating the new displays were not up, they were still on pallets in the warehouse, and the rep had to set them up.  I eventually found laminate, at another store, and told FGS the style and number, and they ordered it.  This laminate made the popping sounds, thus the YouTube videos. It is a laminate that is installed using the Lock & Fold method, which I found per research on the internet, is causing lots of noise problems.  I was eventually told, in an email & by phone that Armstrong approved replacement of this laminate #2, so I ordered the next laminate, #3, based on the web, the sample board, and the Armstrong product book, which stated it used the ARMALOCK locking system.  I also asked my salesperson to verify, in an email on August 3, 2011, that the product does use the Armalock system.  The same color IS available in the thicker laminate, that does use Lock and Fold, which we did not want.
    *****The FGS response says we ordered Armalock, which is correct...and I thank them for saying that, BECAUSE WE DID NOT GET
    ARMALOCK, IT IS LOCK AND FOLD,(see picture of box end).  Armstrong discontinued the Armalock, on this laminate, in April 2011.  IF WE HAD KNOW THIS,  after having asked that it be verified, WE WOULD NEVER HAVE ORDERED IT.

    As for FGS stating that the laminate was laid on the carpet in our "office", well, we don't have an "office", and, laminate #2 was stacked in our garage, and brought in mostly through our garage, but I laid out a floor covering anyway, in the hallway.  Laminate #3 was stacked in the "office", on the new carpet we had installed from a different retailer, and again, I laid covering on the hallway carpet, to protect it, as it was walked over.  Never did FGS lay protection on my floors, ever. 

    Check the dates in the response,,,,per FGS, I signed selection form on 12/10/ 2011, then I changed my mind on 1/19/ 2010, I invoked my warranty on 2/23/ 2011, and I ordered Armalock on 1/19/ 2011!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  AT least they recognize that I ordered ARMALOCK.

    I will post pictures, I hope. I won't know if I can put more pictures on here, until I go to the submit button, but, I will make every effort to get those pictures on here.  If I cannot, then I will edit this again, and tell everyone where to find them on YouTube, after I make a video montage of them.
