Cabinet Refacing reviews in Warwick

  • Mike and his team were fantastic! They offered insight on style and design and I couldn't be happier with my new kitchen. I also had them build me a new island and Mike offered great suggestions on deep drawers vs. slide out shelving. They replaced all my crown molding with up to date moldings, installed all hardware and also set me up with a granite fabricator. I would recommend Kitchen Tune Up Southeast MA 100% - love them! I attached the finished pictures (ignore the tile floor that hasn't been replaced yet)

  • Our experience with Kitchen Tune-Up was first class from start to finish. My wife and I met Mike, the founder of the company, at the RI Home Show. We immediately were impressed with his sincerity and his intelligence. He demonstrated a deep knowledge of his products and services and of the things that we should be considering while making decisions regarding our cabinet work and entire kitchen remodel. The faces, doors, and drawer fronts are of the highest quality and the handles that Mike suggested are beautiful and are perfect for our kitchen. The crew that did the work took only two days to get the job done. Mike's son Jesse led the team and could not have been more helpful, more polite, or more talented. While everyone else on the crew knew and did their jobs expertly, Dave, the carpenter stood out as extremely talented and pleasant. His work was nothing less than extraordinary. We could not be happier with the finished product. In fact, it actually exceeded our expectations. And that is not an easy thing to accomplish. My wife and I are in our late 60's and have had quite a few renovations done in the 35 years that we have lived in our home. For example, we had the same cabinets and drawers done some time ago. The differences in the workmanship and the quality of the products cannot be compared. Kitchen Tune-Up did the work for us last month, ahead of schedule, and I still stop and stare whenever I go into our kitchen. I am still amazed at how good the cabinets and drawers look. I highly recommend Kitchen Tune-up to anyone doing a kitchen remodel. I can assure you that you will be so thankful that you did. If you want the job done right and done with the highest level of professionalism, get in touch with Mike. You will be very glad that you did.

  • The name of the company begins with the word Affordable. We got three quotes and Sean's was the best price by several thousand dollars. Scott our installer was amazing getting the job done within the week as promised. Before he left each day he saw to it that kitchen was usable to prepare evening meal. He was meticulous, neat and extremely professional. I strongly endorse this company and would recommend them to all my friends.

  • Pat was very professional, prompt and knowledgeable. He was very responsive to our needs and offered several scenarios on how our kitchen cabinets could be repaired.  The repairs were done in a timely fashion and for a great price.  I would definitely recommend his services to anyone and have already scheduled him to do another project in my home.  I would give him 5 stars.

  • On 8/25/13 I requested an estimate for refinishing of the cabinets of my kitchen, via the provider's website. The provider (Kenneth) actually contacted me promptly (on 8/26) and requested pictures of the kitchen, as these were not loaded properly in the request. I was very encouraged by the response. Unfortunately, that was the last time I heard about this provider. I e-mailed him again on 8/27 and called him a couple of times in the subsequent days, to no avail. My last called asked specifically for clarification over if he was interested on this project or not, so I could continue my search. No response at all.
It seemed from his website that they do a good work; but I will not recommend them due to unresponsiveness.

  • I got contacted with this provider inadvertently when looking for options on-line. By the time I realized the providers had been contacted and were ready to come and do a free estimate. I then went to Angie's list and saw the poor reviews for this provider. Anyway... They were calling and calling but not leaving a message for us to call back. I finally answered and arranged a visit for a free estimate.
The salesman came promptly and on time. Other than that, I really felt that they were not happy by the fact that they were not driving the appointment. I was looking at refinishing the cabinets we have, and immediately he said they do not refinish, they replace all doors and drawers (hence the and quot;refacingand quot; term) and put veneers in the frames and covers of the existing cabinets. He also said the only material they work for countertops was granite, and quot;because it was the bestand quot; and could not provide other options.

At this point, he basically lost interest on our project and was not very good hiding it. As a difference from other reviews, in our case, he basically flew through his binder, obviously with no intention to waste any more time in my house. I explained that I was unaware of the difference in the terminology, but nevertheless I would like to know what they could offer and would like to get the estimate to evaluate it. He said and quot;evaluate it?and quot;, I said yes, he was the first person to come and we were evaluating our options. He literally started to put the brochures back in his bag and barely keeping the conversation. It was like I was more interested on finding out what they could offer than him - I asked some questions about scheduling, use of subcontractors, etc.; and he kept asking if I was really interested on what they do or not. I explained that I had not thought about the option because I had something different in mind, but that without an estimate I could not know if we could take that route. He then said that based on his experience a ballpark for my kitchen would be 12,000 for the refacing part and 7000 for the granite (which would not include the tiling work that would be required to put above the backsplash).
At this point I also got tired of being barely acknowledged as a potential customer and I told him that maybe we needed to discuss and if we were interested we would call him back. Oh boy! He start walking out of the house very fast and was obviously annoyed at us and aggravated that he had come to the appointment at all. I kept saying thank you for coming and he barely answered me back - no hand shake at the end...
I would have expected that at least he would have tried to sell me what they could offer (i.e. maybe I was thinking on doing something different but he could have explain why his work was better), that they could give me options that were not part of the sales pitch (i.e. I said I was looking something different than granite - he could have replied that granite comes in 20,000 different varieties and they not all look the same!), that at least they would make an effort on asking me questions and taking notes, or that they would be able to maintain a poker face and be polite at the end.
Oh well! I would need to find another vendor that can help me :-)

  • I've reviewed Roland before for a much smaller job. This project took several weeks (2-4 days per week depending on our schedules). Roland was quick to respond to my call and was on time each day for work. At the end of each day, he cleaned up and left the kitchen in good shape. He's very upfront about not being a designer. LOL. But he did encourage me to save the old cabinets which were solid wood and in good condition. I happen to like the vintage look, but with modern updates, so this was an easy choice for me. He sanded the cabinets and painted them white, then refinished the original hardware which had so much detail on it. And they fit perfectly with the stainless steel appliances! Roland also scraped off some awful 80's wallpaper border and vinyl wallcovering before painting. He moved the dishwasher closer to the stove and created additional space to put in a nice deep pull out drawer perfect for my large baking sheets. Because I don't have very many cabinets, I purchased a free standing pantry and Roland assembled it. He also built up one of the shelves to hold the microwave (we don't have much counter space, so every little bit counts!).  He installed a few floating shelves and changed out the 2 ceiling lights to simple glass and chrome ones. What else? Oh, he switched out the door knob/deadbolt for a much better brand. He installed a glass mosiac backsplash and vinyl peel and stick flooring (Allure - at Home Depot). He told me about this flooring - said he had heard good things about it. It looks like wood (well, sort of!), goes down in a flash and has a 25 yr warranty. Good for a modest redo and it looks great! The only part of the kitchen he didn't do was the countertop - I had that professionally installed by Superior (see my review for them). Overall I am very pleased with Roland's work and will have him back to do more projects as time and budget allow.

  • My husband and i were looking for a company to reface our cabinets. We had gone to the RI Home Show in Providence with the idea that we would look at a few places, have them come out and take a look at the kitchen, give us estimates, and then we would decide who to go with. Kitchen Tune-Up was one of the four vendors that we set up an appointment with. The first company representative (from Kitchen Options) that came to our home was clearly out to make a buck fast. He had terrible materials, and when my husband and I told him we would think about it, he actually got mad at us. I just about threw him out of my house! The second representative that came out was from Kitchen Magic, definitely a salesman, out to make a buck, although he had my husband and I convinced to sign with his company, even down to the line of "if you sign with me today, we will give you 20% off your purchase, but if you don't sign with us today, we cannot give you the discount". We thought, WOW 20% is some serious money off, but the funny thing was that some of my requests they could not fullfil, which i just assumed no vendor could, maybe we were asking for the impossible. We originally signed with Kitchen Magic, and the estimate given to us was for over $15,000 (our kitchen isn't even that big). At that point, we felt it was pointless to have the other reps come out as we already hired someone. I contacted Kitchen Tune-Up that day and spoke with Mike and i am really glad that i did! I did inform him that i wanted to cancel my appointment with him because i had booked with another vendor. Mike respectfully asked who we decided to go with and i told him, and very sincerely he replied "i will guaranty i can offer you more for your money, let me come out and you can decide for yourself, but just give me the opportunity". He had a good point! I had him come out the next day, and boy was he right. His materials were CLEARLY superior over Kitchen Magic's, he was able to do EVERYTHING that i wanted unlike Kitchen Magic and the best part was he charged us $6000 less for MORE!! My husband and i got a really good feeling about Mike and Jesse! They were very professional, not your typical salesman just trying to make a quick buck. They were patient, went over everything and the best part was we were not pressured into a sale. After seeing what they had to offer, we then signed with Kitchen Tune-Up and we cancelled with Kitchen Magic (within our 3 day right to recission). Mike and Jesse ordered the materials and in a few weeks were at the house starting the job. The whole job was completed in 2 and a half days, at the end of a work day, they left everything nice and neat and my husband and I were never inconvenienced by not having a kitchen while the work was being done. They even had great suggestions of putting crown molding on the top of of the cabinets, which was included in the price. Kitchen Magic wanted an additional $600 to add crown molding. Additionally, we have a center island that needed "a little something", so i had told Mike that I wanted "dummy cabinets" on the outside to give the island more dimention. NOT A PROBLEM!! Included in the price. Kitchen Magic wanted over $1000 for this request. Bottom line, if i could be the Public Relations person for Kitchen Tune - Up and represent Mike and Jesse I would in a heartbeat! My kitchen looks BEAUTIFUL!! For the first time since we owned the home, I love looking at my cabinets! I have gotten so many compliments on them and how it just makes the house POP! I am so glad that I gave Mike and Jesse the opportunity to come out and give me an estimate, because if i didn't i would be stuck with a kitchen where i wanted more and received less. They gave us what we wanted and more! Highly recommended!!
