  • Dr. Boivin is very thorough and professional. He utilizes the latest technology and offers easy to understand explanations for all procedures. His office staff are both pleasant and efficient. Dr Boivin has a varied selection of eyewear to chose from. His staff are very helpful in assisting the patient to make informed choices as to what is most appropriate, considering both cosmetic and financial factors.

  • I've always had a good experience. The staff is friendly and helpful and the doctor is very professional. In addition to examining your eyes, he checks into things thoroughly. My husband is diabetic and he always goes the extra length for him.

  • My husband and I had both seen Dr. Boivin in the past and, although he seemed a bit aloof, he seemed competent enough. My husband went to be fitted for night time lenses. During the exam, a chemical on one of the doctor's instruments, which hadn't been rinsed properly, burned the cornea of my husband's eye. The doctor gave a perfunctory apology, gave him some drops, and let him drive home--at night! The pain was so excruciating, my husband had to pull over to the side of the road and call for help. He sobbed and writhed all night (and he's a chef--used to cuts, burns, etc.). I had to call Dr. Boivin at home to get something for the pain. He had me drive to his home (20 mins. ea. way) to pick up some samples. Dr. Boivin did not call the next morning to see how my husband was doing. I realize that everyone makes mistakes and we were not blaming Dr. Boivin for what happened. We made this very clear to him. However, at that time my husband had a job with an hourly wage. As a result of his injury, he missed several days of work and had to see a specialist. We asked Dr. Boivin to reimburse us for the lost wages and the specialist's visit. He refused and was EXTREMELY rude to us. When we called his liability insurance carrier, they told us we were being very reasonable asking only for minimal compensation. They called him and told him he was lucky we weren't suing and that they'd discontinue his coverage if he did not reimburse us. We are not the only ones to have had a less than pleasant experience with Dr. Boivin. His manner is arrogant, his staff are not particularly friendly. His staff tend to oversell features on eyeware. For example, they tried to sell my friend's 75-year-old mother, who is on a fixed income, all the bells and whistles on her glasses (adding about $200 to the tab) after my friend had asked for the most basic glasses that were appropriate. Others have said they find him cold or arrogant. I couldn't agree more!
