  • Three times more expensive that everyone else. If he didn't want the work he should have said so instead of wasting everyone's time. The good news is that at least he finally did respond unlike many others who didn't show up when they said they would.

  • It went very well and as expected: Kevin took measurements, after I sent him photos of the project area. (He personally came in person for the measurements on a weekend. Very shortly thereafter, he communicated my options with photos from his past projects as well as coming in person, again, to explain everything (estimates with different options and variables about the project), how the events would play out in a timeline (e.g. demolition, forms in ground, leveling, any weather-related variables---that didn't pertain to this project---and what it would look like when he and his crew were done. Also, he informed me every step of the way on when the financial pieces of the project came together. My wife and I are very pleased, to say the least, with the project and appreciate Kevin's meticulousness and attention to detail, as well as the final overall final product. Kevin does all his work for others as if it's his own---that's key in hiring someone to do a project in regard to your home. He treated it like the work was at his own house. And for that, and the fact that he was transparent, upfront, on time, and informative, we are very happy. We couldn't have asked for a better contractor or finished project. It looks great!

  • Everything went great. Adelino is a true professional and he knows what he is talking about. He is honest about cost and recommendations are made and he does really nice work. See attached pictures. The lower path he didn't do, but he did the stone wall, regraded behind the wall, you can also see where the two downspouts were run into a single drain. In the other picture is the reverse angle of the paver walkway from the stair. All very nice work, and done within the exact timeframe Adelino promised.

  • I highly Recommend Northeast Hardscape for any masonry work without any reservations whatsoever. From first contact, Justin was great to deal with and very responsive. He came out to provide an estimate within a day or two after we connected He estimated the job to take four days, and it did. He started the job and finished it exactly as he said he would without starting multiple jobs like other contractors sometimes do. Justin was so knowledgable, we took a chance and left the actual design creativity up to him. Boy, he did not disappoint us.

Neighbors, even those we have yet to meet have been stopping by to compliment the work and ask for Northeast Hardscape's contact information. Justin is meticulous, creative and responsible. If you use him, I think you will find what we did....he does incredible work at a fair price without any hassles.

  • Mr. Rego was on time, professional and detail-oriented.  He wanted to do the job right and was meticulous in his attention to the correct installation of the sidewalk.  He performed exactly as he said he would and was intelligent and polite.  I recommend him highly if you want your masonry done well.

  • John and his crew were a pleasure to work with.  Their work ethic was remarkable and they completed the job on time.  The quality of work as well as John's advice was greatly appreciated.  The results are beautiful!!  The price was extremely fair.

  • After reading the glowing reviews about MJ Masonry of Bristol, RI and viewing his very professional website, we contacted the owner and after being given a tour of his supposed projects, my mother signed a contract and gave Michael Jodoin a fifty percent deposit for a cobblestone paver driveway on July 18, 2012.  Construction was to begin on August 27th, and was supposed to take 3-4 days from start to finish.
The delays and excuses began immediately.  His ?employees? were NOT professionals as described on his website.  They never had the proper equipment and actually took, used and damaged tools from the garage and dented the new garage door.  The work that was performed also now has to be redone as the driveway gravel base was not done as stated in the contract.
It is now early February 2013 and my mother has an unusable driveway of sand and rock piles since September, and no access to her garage.  Her neighbors have had her car in their driveway for five months now.  She is now stuck with this until probably late March and the weather starts to change again.  Besides having $5530.00 stolen from her by this contractor, she has been deprived of her independence since she is a senior with some medical issues.
We strongly suspect that the previously glowing, ?raised to sainthood? ?A? reviews were planted by the contractor himself, family or a friend since he was so proud to announce that he was on there and encouraged us to the site.  However, those reviews are the polar opposites of what we experienced.  It?s all a lure!  He?s quite the ?operator? as he?s well spoken, clean cut and seems to know his trade well.  The first impression is that he must have a very successful business.  However, we found that he has not had a valid contractors license in RI since 4/1/10 and his insurance was cancelled on 7/23/12, just 5 days after our contract was signed, was never reinstated as we later discovered!  He was working without coverage for the entire time until Nov. 13th when we contacted police and with a family member had 2 workers cease work and escorted off the property until proof that his insurance had been reinstated.  Had he or any of his ?workers? injured themselves while working on her property, my mothers insurance company could have been sued !  UNBELIEVABLE!!  Mike vehemently denied his insurance was cancelled but we found otherwise after investigating ourselves.  He told me he?d scan and email proof that he had a valid policy.  That was the last we heard from him.  Again, all lies and deceit!
After searching public records,  we found that he has had a rap sheet a mile long for years, has been charged by police in 3 towns for unlawful appropriation of money, operating with intent to defraud and not completing work.
On 12/14/12 he texts me that he ?wanted to make arrangements to refund her money?. I contacted the police to advise of the text and they took over and contacted Mike who said he would bring a bank check for the full amount to them the next day..  So, he proceeds to lie to the police TWICE and no-showed on them TWICE regarding the ?refund?!  Really???  Mike, how do you sleep at night stealing from a 79 year old widow?  After this, police issued a warrant for his arrest, arriving at his address only to find out that he had moved out.  He disappeared for a month until another cases court proceedings came up then was arrested  on the way out of court that day and charged for our case.  He is currently in prison at the RI ACI until our court date.
All of this is public record online under the Defendant Search under RI Courts or just search on line with his name.  This is only a VERY BRIEF summary of what he has done to us.  The complaints are extensive.  We are providing this information to prevent others
from becoming his victims!  So all beware, he is a liar, fraud, scammer,  and most of all, a THIEF !!!!!

  • I went on Angie's List- read about Kevin as my company's building was in need of repair ( an old mill bulding) so i called Kevin- discussed it with him.  I took some photos and e mailed them to him so he would know and he was here the next day.  When he was done, he took me out to show me what was done and some extras which were done by him as well.  All in all- EXCELLENT A+

  • Following my initial call John Ferucci responded promptly and explained everything clearly and thoroughly/  He presented a fair estimate for the necessary work.   The crew arrived a few days later and completed the work in a timely manner demonstrating  professionalism.  John also "pointed" some needy crumbling cement not related to the retaining wall damage.  (no charge)   Nice cleanup following the job.  I recommend Greenskeeper based upon this experience.

  • This was a nightmare experience. Jay is a big talker who doesn't deliver, and he plain out cheated us; we paid for work he never did. He told us all about his craft as a mason, how he comes from an old-school family of masons--and he outsourced the work to another company, not lifting a finger. We explicitly told him what we wanted done and even gave him in writing a simple description of what we wanted--the brick chimney should be rebuilt exactly as it was. We came home one day to find a completely different chimney style! He told us that he thought a colonial style would look better on our mid-century modern ranch, so that's what he did (?!). We insisted he tear it down and rebuild it. We paid to have the chimney cleaned and to have the bricks on the chimney and house sealed--he never did either project despite phone calls and emails which he ignored. He scraped and painted the wrong windows, and used the cheapest paint--they started to peel within months. Jay promised us a detailed invoice the day we made the last payment on 9/29. That day he said he absolutely had to be paid but forgot the paperwork for the invoice; he promised to bring it on Monday, 9/28, when he'd finish the work. After countless phone calls and emails, he finally sent an invoice in April 2010 but never finished the job! I was an idiot for giving him money before all the work was done. He acted like a jerk and a crook. Beware!!! He also wanted all checks paid to him personally, saying "I don't want Uncle Sam touching this."
