Tile Installation reviews in Pawtucket

  • We were very happy with our bathroom remodel! Corey asked all the right questions to ensure our bathroom was just how we wanted it. He was very timely, and everyone who he had come in to do work for him was also good. We would (will) definitely hire C & A Design and Construction again. To get a sense of the project, it was a complete bathroom remodel, with a higher-end enameled steel tub, a mid-range vanity and medicine cabinet, porcelain tile on the floor and shower, new sink, new everything ...except the toilet, which we had recently bought for an immediately required fix, which we really liked and wanted to keep. As we said, we're hire C & A again for our next project. Very hard-working and no-nonsense, with a good eye for design, a lot of experience, and the ability to pick the right people to work with and manage them well.

  • Very professional crew. All of them obviously loved the work they were doing. Good communication about the details of the project. Ran on schedule with minimal inconvenience (and this was our only bathroom)

  • When my husband and I purchased our home, the first thing we needed to do was replace everything in the kitchen from cabinets to appliances. However, we wanted to be able to design our entire kitchen from Ikea, where we could easily walk through and get everything we needed top to bottom. I had a very specific idea of what I wanted to stay in keeping with the feel of our 1928 craftsman bungalow and I needed a contractor who would listen, understand, and be happy with what I was going for, which was basically a more rustic style with open shelves, at least as rustic as I could get from Ikea. Before calling Rob at RI Design Build, I spoke to a couple other contractors who either wanted nothing to do with our IKEA plan, or would only do part of what we needed (which was basically a total overhaul). Rob came in, took a look at the kitchen, listened to my plan, offered his professional opinion on dealing with the gut job (which my husband and I did), and we set a start date. Rob's brother Rich did the bulk of the installation and other jobs (basically everything but plumbing and electrical). I honestly can't say enough good things about Rich. He asked how I wanted things done, if there were issues that came up, he presented me with options from which I could choose, he did an awesome job of working with the materials we had, and he was just generally really pleasant to be around for the couple weeks he was here. RI design build handled the hiccups (designing a structure to accommodate the really uneven kitchen floors so our pre-fab cabinets would sit level, for example) really well and had great ideas about how to get through dealing with an old house like mine. There was an issue with space around the under sink cabinet that required Rich to build two open cabinets pretty much on the spot, and he did an awesome job. A year later, I'm still happy that he was so amenable to all the dumb little problems. At some point, I was asked if I wanted the kitchen floors refinished, and I said yes. After two days of sanding through 90 years worth of stain and polyurethane, I know these poor guys regretted offering, but they finished and it still looks rustic and awesome. It's taken me a year to write this review for a number of reasons, most notably because we had this work done when I was seven months pregnant and the end of my pregnancy plus newborn has sidelined basically every aspect of my life. However, now that it's been a year I can say that Rich's work is holding up fantastically. It's like he just finished the job yesterday. Rob worked with me through the project on choosing the perfect bead board backsplash (which I had to have) as well as trims and other complementary pieces. He kept me updated on progress and stopped by every day to see where things were. My only complaint about the experience is that punctuality was not always awesome. For a number of meetings, I waited around quite awhile. in the end, though, everything came out amazingly and I get compliments all the time. Definitely a positive experience. I'm sorry it took me so long to write this, Rob! I'm sure you've long since given up on me.

  • Rob is an absolutely fantastic contractor. He was also responsive to questions and worked to make everything the way we wanted it. The work done by his brother (Rich), particularly the tile work was fantastic. Multiple other professionals (plumber, glass shower door installer) stated the tile work was perfect.

The most telling sign of the quality of a contractor Rob is has been how he handled the end of the job. Some of the doors on the vanity were a little damaged so new ones were ordered. He always kept in contact while we awaited the doors, I never had to call him to remind him to come back.

My wife and entire family have truly enjoyed our new bathroom and we are thankful to Rob and his team.

I worry writing such a great review will make him too busy to help with my next remodeling/construction job.

  • This provider was very punctual in showing up on time. It was difficult to get in touch with them, but they explained that they have work that keeps them from being able to answer the phone and return calls until the evening. The "B" rating was less a function of their ability and more a function of what could actually be done in a two-hour time-span. Not a reflection on the provider, but any type of job like this should not be purchased by the job, not by the hour. That's more a lesson for me as a consumer, but my opinion is that general contracting work should only be purchased by the hour if (and only if) the purchaser could actually do the work themselves and know what the outcome should look like. Because I had never done grouting or re-work of grout to remove mold, I didn't know what I should have been expecting.

  • I gave them 3 dates that would work for them to come out to do the work.  None of them would work out and those were the only dates I was available so I chose to refund the deal.  They tried to accommodate my schedule but it just wouldn't work out right now.  I will use them again in the future.

  • Sean did tile work for my Mom in Pawtucket, RI. She was thrilled with the way the tile work came out for the wall behind her stove. I would recommend saving time and money and simply hiring Sean. He is a Pro's Pro. -Paul L.

  • Removed old carpeting, laminate and linoleum flooring. Resurfaced floors for tiles and wooden floors. New carpeting was placed upstairs and stairway. All done very nicely. Store staff were professional, courteous and customer friendly. A company that is trustworthy and reliable.

  • The project had a few setbacks because it was an older home and issues were discovered along the way but our contractor kept us informed and the necessary adjustments were made. The project was completed in a timely manner.  We are totally satisfied with the work that was performed and the time it took.

  • About 5 years ago Bedford Builders did a complete kitchen bath remodel. We were involved in the planing process from begining to end. Because we live in a 100 year old house that is not even close to being level or square there were some "chalanges" presented with the the changes we wanted. Mr. Bedford was very helpfull with suggestions for us to achieve our desired results. We knew what the cost was before we started the job and the time frame involved. There were several times during the renovation when we decided to make some additional changes, and we knew at that time how these changes would impact the price and the completion date. The renovation was completed on time and for the price agreed upon.

In 2012 we wanted to build an unattached gararge. Because we were very happy with the results of the kitchen / bath remodeling job provided by Bedford Builders a few years earlier we called upon them again for this project. After going over what we wanted, Mr. Bedford made suggestoins for different ways and prices to achieve our goal. Again once we decided on what we wanted we knew what the cost was and the time frame involved. This project was also completed on time and on budget.
