Drywall Repair reviews in North Providence

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • Calyx was very professional from our initial meeting to the final walk through. Bob (the owner) had consulted with us about the project and listened to all our needs which was evident in the detailed proposal outlining what services were being provided coupled with a realistic timeline. In the process of remodeling, we did work with their vendors in selecting various materials - Paul at Simon Supply was extremely helpful and got us exactly what we wanted. We were happy to deal with such good vendors and to hear from the vendors how pleasant it was for them to work with Calyx (this gave us further reassurance that we picked a quality subcontractor). Communication on the project was relatively open during the entire project whereby we knew what was happening next. We would definitely use them again as they were able to work within our budget, the final product was what we agreed upon and the fact that everyone at Calyx (from top down) was professional.

  • I and my family always hire Bob for any services he does and we need (over a period now of 14 years) . In fact, I am calling him to ask his advice about who to hire for jobs other than the kind of jobs his business performs. He is so likeable and down-to-earth. I give him the highest recommendation.

  • Kevin and his team did a wonderful job remodeling my basement bathroom and a spare office/room in my basement. The bathroom was moldy, the shower was leaking (leaving a small lagoon every time we used it), the electrical work was a mess, and the floors were not level. His team came in and demo'd, removed all the moldy insulation and woodwork, and moved the plumbing to make better use of the limited space. He framed in a new door for the spare room and put in beautiful laminate wood flooring. I didn't want a pre-fab shower, so he built me a custom walk-in shower that exceeded my expectations as far as size, beauty and craftsmanship. I have a beautiful laundry work space now and his electrician came in and fixed all the open wiring problems in the space that I inherited when I bought the house a year ago. Throughout the entire process, Kevin and his team were very professional and friendly. I have a few other projects down the road, including a major kitchen remodel and I will definitely be calling Kevin!

  • Mike gets an A+ in every aspect of the job. He gutted our existing bathroom and found a lot of structural damage. He said he would take care of it and did a great job. Mike is very helpful in giving you ideas which I used and in helping to find the right products. He is meticulous in everything he does will go to any length to make sure the job is done right and that you are satisfied. He has great employees who were as punctual, professional and conscientious as Mike. He is great in communicating with you returning phone calls/texting promptly and is responsive to any and all questions. I thoroughly enjoyed working with him and already planning the next job with him.

  • We had a bit of a problem coordinating the timing of the work because by the time the plumbers finished Kevin was on a month-long safari vacation in Africa. While he was gone I had other estimates, some of which were less than Kevin's, but they proposed patching the ceiling whereas Kevin said it would not come out well that way. He was convincing and also my insurance adjuster agreed that total replacement was warranted, so I was able to get much of the repair cost from my homeowner's insurance, though not for the plumbing work.
Anyway, Kevin acknowledged that there might be others who would do the job more cheaply, but the issue was quality. In fact, when the job was done he and his team did terrific work and the dining room and living room look like new. Kevin was also helpful in providing estimates and the paperwork I needed for the insurance company. He seems like a genuinely nice guy. In short, RWL does quality work. But they are busy, so make sure to work out a realistic time line.

  • Mario's a great guy and an excellent painter. He and J were extremely efficient and responsive. Mario really understood our needs, and he uses high quality products to find solutions to our paint problems.  The price was significantly lower than others we sought. Mario was very honest; in one hallway we anticipated having to repaint the entire thing, but he pointed out that we really only needed to work on the high traffic areas.
We definitely plan on having Mario do more work for us in the future.

  • It was great! Working with Joe was easy - he showed up when he said he was going to, protected furniture, carpet etc during work, vacuumed after work. The quality of work was great - no one would ever know that this ceiling was patched. He also is very personable which helps when you are having people in your home. Overall a perfect experience - if I need anything ever - I will call him!

  • Steven was a true professional. When we first met he mentioned he was a stickler to the details. Until I returned after the first day of work did I realize what he meant. Every single inch of the hardwood floors were covered in cardboard. He made it look like it was meant to be there. No a single scratch on our floors. The work they did was first class. The repairs and the finish work look better than the original work.

  • The job was done on time when it was time to replace the ceiling as part if the remodel. The blend work between existing dining room and new kitchen ceilings was perfect to the point where you cannot find the seam. I even asked him about previous water damage around a light fixture in the living room and he advised just painting instead of him doing the work. I painted and can't tell the difference, and I appreciated his honesty instead of seeing him try to take a job he felt I could on my own. He did work on my parents' house, too, and did a great job there. It was a high slanted ceiling and plastered several cracks where you can't tell where they were anymore. I definitely recommend Ray and his company.

  • This was a large upmarket residential renovation totaling well over $100,000.  The general contractor,Garcia Home Improvement did an excellent job. The project took approximately 4 months from start to finish. It was directly managed by company owner James Garcia. This man was extremely detail and quality oriented and his expert crew worked hard to meet his (and our) expectations to make sure every aspect of the project was done right. If, on the rare occasion it wasn't done right, it was done over.  We provided most of the design and high-end finish materials on the interior, while Garcia provided all of the labor and structural materials necessary. This arrangement worked well for both of us.

Other than holidays and weekends the crew showed up virtually every workday for 4 months straight. Unbelievable! We are not new to home renovation and have seen the good, the bad and the ugly of the general contracting world. We were prepared to struggle with such a large renovation, but Garcia Home Improvement came thru as one of the most professional operations I have ever observed. When the rare problem came up, it always came with a solution attached.

Since we were living in the house with 3 noisy dogs during the entire project, consideration on everybody's part was essential. The crew almost always took adequate time out at the end of each work day to clean up the site understanding it was somebody's home. My experience has not always been good in this regard. Since time is money in the contracting world, the daily clean-up often gets the short shrift. Not with this company.

The only part of the huge project not done by Garcia was the new heating system, otherwise he did everything necessary to take a very dated and worn 1972 colonial (needing EVERYTHING) and make its interior shine like 2014. We could have hired a less expensive contractor (be aware Garcia Home Improvement is not the cheap seats), and some of the extras were a little more expensive than expected. But value is always the intersection of price and quality. In this case, we achieved the highest value we could have ever expected. Thank you Angie's List!!
