  • They didn't replace the oil cap. The vehicle was driven home, at which time I discovered oil leaking from the engine compartment. I lifted the hood to find oil everywhere you could imagine. I had the car towed back (30 min drive), the said they would clean it and do another oil change. When the car came back the oil may have been changed (no way to know for sure) but nothing was cleaned. I drove the car back a third time and they "cleaned it" again but there wasn't much of a difference. The damage had been done. Now when the car is running (especially now that it is summer) you can smell the oil burning. The serpentine belt is squeaking all of a sudden (cause it's covered in oil stains) and they wouldn't replace it. Not good. I'm sure this has nothing to do with Barry's service in general, just the idiot that worked on my car, but he/she should be fired and the owner should reconsider his management. What was supposed to be a free oil change since I bought this car from them 6 months ago turned into a mess in the engine compartment, a need for a new serpentine belt, and a ****** off customer. Plus, this is my wife's car so that makes it even better. Very disappointed.

  • Over the last 10 years, I have purchased all of my vehicles from Barry Motors in Newport. When I bought my first car, they gave me my first oil change for free. That initial experience was enough to sell me to bring all of my cars for service work there. To add to my positive experiences with Barry’s Auto, I recently was rear ended in a traffic accident. The staff at Barry's Collision Center were courteous, knowledgeable and professional. Additionally, when my car was completed, it looked as good as the day I purchased it from them. I cannot say enough about the Barry Experience.

  • The work was done on time, and all my requested repairs were performed. The cost was consistent with the estimate. My car subsequently passed the state's safety inspection. It's running far better than it has in years!  This is a veteran-owned business that offers special consideration to active-duty, retired, and reserve military members.

  • I would recommend them; they were fine. It was pretty easy. I just dropped the car off, they took care of it, gave me a price and I did not seem to get jerked around too much. The price was not great, but it was reasonable. Everything worked out fine.

  • It went great! I enjoy waiting while work is done on my truck, just because everyone is so nice, and the coffee is really good. If I'm there around lunchtime, I may be lucky enough to catch the excellent catering truck, too. Meanwhile, back under my dashboard, the mechanics sorted out the problem and restored lighting to the instrument panel. A minor adjustment had to be made later, which they did very promptly.B and C folks are the best!
    NOTE: They have moved from the address that popped up when I went to enter this review. It is now 188 Connell Highway in Newport. Their old location was taken over by another repair shop that didn't bother to inform B and C customers that they weren't the same operation. There was a lot of consternation locally about this shady behavior.

  • Well rich took seconds to know what was wrong with my truck. This is after a several other shops charged my to fix it without success! I showed him what has been done before and he informed me that they and quot;fixedand quot; things that are not even on the truck... Stay away from the dealers! This guy knows his stuff. It took a day to fix the problem and he even fixed stuff that i did not know was a problem, and did not charge me for it! The price was slightly less then he said it would be. Every rover in town has his badge on the back for a reason. His guy is good. To find a repair shop like this place is rare. I called him a week later to make a appointment for my other truck and he told he how to fix the problem over the phone. His shop has a parking lot of old defenders to new range rovers. They had a 110 defender they were building from the ground up. I am impressed and will not take my rovers anywhere else.

  • When we decided we liked the car and I mentioned the price that was advertised online, they said that price was good only if you arranged financing with them. I said I did not recollect seeing any mention of that on their website. When I said I wasn't interested in financing with them and got ready to leave, they said they would give me that price, but they managed to tack on some sort of $300 fee for some sort of temporary robbery thing, that I never understood and in retrospect wish I had pursued getting refunded.
    Anyway, after buying the car, I came home and went back on the website and sure enough, there was no asterisk or explanation ANYWHERE that indicated the advertised prices were all dependent on financing, and I'd call that deceptive advertising, so for that reason and the $300 add-on that was never explained, I will not go there again. They were also a little sluggish in responding to a few concerns I called about after purchasing the vehicle and I think when you buy a car, you should get the same quick response AFTER the sale as you received BEFORE it. At least, if they want you to come back the next time you are in the market for a car.

  • We purchased our Subaru Outback from Somerset Subaru because they had a great service plan and gave us a fair price on the car. Since we live out of state/town, they will come and pick up the car for any service needed, including just an oil change. They return it the same day. For a busy family, this service is priceless.
    I would certainly purchase another car from Somerset Subaru.

  • We have been going there from the last one year. They are still relatively new to us because we just bought our new car  which is a Infiniti G25, about a year ago. We have taken it for servicing just a few times. They are clean and professional. They get the job done pretty well. Our overall experience with them has been good.

  • Car would not start. Car was towed to Anchor and they looked at the problem that very same morning. I didn't have an appointment, but, since what was needed was simple (a fuse), it was ready to go by early afternoon. What was great is that what needed to be done did not exceed the cost of finding the problem. They also inspected my car and changed the oil. Overall I am happy with my service from Anchor.
