    Two Contractors
I had one deck that needed to be removed and replaced. I wanted the replacement to extend and wrap-around to join another deck. After comparing a few contractors, I choose Jerry. His pricing seemed to be very fair and I just liked him. The entire construction process went smoothly. Obtaining permits, materials delivery, waste container drop-off and pick-up, etc. Jerry and his partner did a great job constructing the new decks. Very easy to talk to throughout the project. They made the experience a pleasure and hassle free. When it came time to settling the bill, I was surprised and impressed. It turned out that one decking material that the original bid was based on was not available. We chose a suitable replacement. The replacement cost less (which I did not know). Jerry took the difference off the bill. I wouldnt have known and would have been just as happy with the job without the credit. The fact that he did that on his own meant a lot to me and said a lot about Jerry. I will use Two Contractors again.

Flovio was a recommendation from my next door neighbor. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Flavio was pleasant, professional and efficient. His attention to detail and pride in his workmanship was refreshing to see. And, to top it off, his price was very reasonable. I have already asked him to do another project for us.

Chris did an excellent job in installing cabinets, including making a few good suggestions. Also installed door to a storage area in closet. Work was done well and in professional manner. Would definitely hire again as other projects come up.

Outstanding workmanship. The house is transformed and now looks like a beautiful coastal summer home. The foreman kept in contact throughout the process, they left the place neat and clean. Great job - I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

    Ocean State Home Improvement Inc
I met  with John DiMauro  from Ocean State Home Improvement  in early September  of this year. He was very acommadating with meeting me at my home in south county ,RI. It was a little difficult for me as I live out of state approx 1.5 hours away, from the house where I intended to have the work done. I had already met with 3 other contractors, Ocean State Home Imp. was the fourth.I was first impressed by  the fact that the person meeting with was the actual owner of the company. He was not a sales man, or  a one man show. He was the owner of an actual company that had a 30+ year history and a crew of experienced installers. He not only was the owner of this company but he had worked as one of the crew for his father that owned it before him. I could tell right away  that this was a family business, and there was a lot of pride in that. I knew that day that he was the contractor I wanted, I gave him a deposit and signed a contract.
I was hoping  to try and have the work done before the end of the year, John  told me we could plan on getting this started in 7-8 wks after signing the contract.  So I was thinking around the first couple weeks of  November. They were actually ahead of schedule and started Oct 19th.  I was a little nervous about having all this going on, and not being around so I would travel 2-3x a week to the house to see how things were going. The crew that  John sent was amazing. Mike, Nick, Wilson and Matt were there at 8am in the morning worked all day, were very polite, always took time to talk to me give me updates on what was going to happen and when, answered all my questions. Never once complained about having to work around things that the people who lived in the house might have in the way. Extremely professional all the way!  John had estimated that the job would probably take a couple weeks, and I honestly have to tell you I had my doubts, but I was ok with it taking longer I wanted the job done right not fast.
Exactly 2 weeks later on Oct 30th the job was finished completely. They left the property spotless. The work was expertly done and I couldn't be happier with it. I have received many compliments from friends and neighbors, even my 80 yr old father approved and he rarely approves of anything!  I would not hesitate to recommend  Ocean State Home Improvement to anyone!

    UPDATE #2:
Windows, sliding doors and front door are finally finished.  The installers did a fantastic job.  The windows we ordered were not the ones we received.  We ordered the SoftLite Pro window and received the Imperial LS.  The LS is a better made window as it's one of the upper tier SoftLite windows but with the standard glass package ends up with a slightly higher u factor (0.28 vs 0.27 for the Pro).  Plus, the opening is a little smaller as the Pro has a thinner sash.  But it really isn't enough of a difference to gripe as the windows look terrific.   SoftLite offered us a credit for the rebates so we could purchase a new AC unit that would fit the narrower sash, which was a solid gesture on their part.

The sliders we ordered were not even offered by SoftLite.  So we ended up with a triple pane 0.26 u factor slider for the cost of a double pane 0.27 u factor (which is not made, it's actually a 0.28 u factor double pane slider).  The sliders are seriously heavy.  I'd recommend anyone considering sliders to get the triple pane slider since it's all glass, there's a lot of heat transfer - better to have the extra protection here.

The ThermaTru door had a couple cosmetic dings from the manufacturer - extra caulk, a slightly cracked frame.  Again, easy enough to just fix those issue than to get bent out of shape about it.

All in all, it wasn't the smoothest job and there were real communication issues.  The owner had other issues he was dealing with so I can understand it to some extent.  Still, as a business, communication is key.  The installers were great - really courteous, really professional.  They worked right through for two and half days to get the windows and front door done.  Then came back for another full day to do the sliders.

Most contracting jobs will have problems - this one had more than it's fair share.  But the key is to acknowledge the problems and make them right.  They did that.  And in the end, the product - the whole reason for the job in the first place - turned out beautifully.

    UPDATE #1:
Received a call from the owner on Monday, 27 July.  He acknowledge problems and is trying to make things right.  There were very real issues with communications, scheduling, and ordering as the sliding doors we ordered were only just submitted on Monday 27, July, even though we ordered them back in early June.  The 4-5 week project we were quoted will end up being an 8-10 week project and the window and front door portion will be installed (I hope) the first week of August.  I will continue to update as the project progresses.  I'm hopeful the worst is over.

After calling several times to find out the status of our install, since we were a few weeks past the original time quote and I still hadn't been contacted, the run around started on 17 July.  Apparently the windows were manufactured and were shipped to the contractor but there were no sliders.  In fact, no one seems to know where the sliders are or if they were ever ordered (I say apparently because I have no way of knowing or verifying this) .   Still, the windows were in so we were told we would be able to at least get that portion of the job done and when the doors were available, they would come back to do those.  The first date we were told they would be installed was Monday, 20 July.  The owner, Steve, called and asked me to call him to confirm the Monday install.  That call was on Friday the 17th and I returned his call on Saturday AM and left a message saying that Monday would be fine.  Monday AM I still hadn't received confirmation about the install so I called Monday AM.  The installer was doing another job and he wouldn't get to me until the following week (27 July).  On that call, I was also told that Steve would get to the bottom of the mystery of the disappearing slider doors.  I have called 3 times since Monday the 20th to get an update about either the window install or the sliders.  It is now Monday, 27 July and I still have no idea if my windows will be installed or if the sliders we ordered and paid for were ever actually ordered.

He did a great job of replacing a bulkhead doors for me. He gave me a fair price and showed up on time. Friendly and professional in everyway. He came over and gave me an estimate and called next day to do work and was done in 6 hours. I was totally happy with his work.

Derek responded quickly to my email about the list we needed done.  He called and we set a time for him to come over.  Derek has arrived on time for each visit to our house.
Derek is very professional.  A lot of experience doing many different kinds of jobs.  He doesn't charge by the hour - but by the job.  So, he emailed an estimate and broke the tasks to be done in 5 different projects and gave an estimate for each project.  That way we could decide whether to do all or part of the work we wanted done.
It has been very helpful knowing in advance what it would cost.  We didn't have to wonder if something would take 2 hours or 5 hours.
We are so happy to have met him and consulted with him on different jobs.  If he doesn't do what you want done, he can give you a referral.  I have already referred him to my daughter and some friends.
            You won't be disappointed.

The house looks beautful!  They did such a great job!  The quality of work is top notch.  In total, they hung 3 new doors, changed the locks, hung 19 new windows, put on a new roof and new siding (house is apprx 2800sq ft) and bumped out all the exterior window moldings so I didnt need shutters anymore.  Once the ground thaws I will have them back out to complete and build the front door step.
I would hire them all over again.
