    Adelino Soares Construction
Residential sidewalk construction job. We had an old walkway comprised of uneven large stones, some areas with cement poured between the stones. Very difficult to walk on this surface. Curved 65-foot pathway around the side of the house to a second entrance. This project involved removal of the stones and cement from the old walkway. Then digging down 5-7, placing small white stones and then a a mix of grades of sand in the sidewalk trench. Vigorously and throughly tamped down both by hand and with a machine with forming a firm bed that enables drainage of the new finished walkway. 4x8 paver stones arranged in an artistic pattern following the contour of the walkway and flaring out to the full widths of the cement stairs from the front and side doors. Sidewalk also flares out to expand as it rounds the curve on the way to the side door. Entire walkway connects smoothly to the driveway, with a very slight and perfect overall grade to enable the flow of rain water off the walkway. Additional work to create an 8 channel drain across driveway, involving cutting the asphalt and cementing. This extra work solves our long-term problem with ponding, and in the winter dangerous freezing on the driveway surface. Adelino Soares arrived with two additional workers, removed the large pile of large stones and took them away (at my request). His attention to project planning and execution were commendable, start to finish. Adelino is a gentleman and professional in every regard. This is his second job at our house, where he refurbished our front slate and stone stairs and landing by doing an outstanding job. I was very happy to hire Adelino again to do this more complex job. He showed up as promised and scheduled, worked steadily and consistently from the start of the job to its conclusion. Adelion Soares Construction comes very highly recommended by me as an excellent choice for anyone who is considering getting stone and masonry work done.

    J&G Masonry and Lawn Care
He came and looked at the situation and advised me that no work is needed at this time. He was very polite and honest. I appreciated the fact that he was that honest and wasn't out to make some quick $ from me. I will certainly contact him when and if I have future needs.

Professional from start to finish !!!! From the very first time we meet Justin we knew we wanted him for the job. Very responsive to our requests during the estimate and during the job. Justin communicated with us throughout the whole process, keeping us informed on every aspect of the job and time table. We cannot express about how happy we are with the finished product. We even wanted a few changes made mid job and Justin took care of them no problem at all. His work is on time and on the money. No surprises at all. We will have Justin back to do a patio in the back for us and would recommend him to anybody needing masonry work done. His work speaks for itself.

    Valter Rego Masonry
It went well. Valter was very professional and the work was done quickly and it looked amazing. More expensive than originally quoted, but worth the price. Beautifully done. I couldn't have asked for more.

    Affordable Masonry

Nine months after the pipe was replaced the entire 5 foot section of the pipe above the roof fell off into our yard. This is a very heavy piece with an enclosed asbestos liner. The cap was very damaged. Affordable masonry came and re-attached the pipe. I was told by the worker, named  Jose to call the owner, Jon Stokler, directly regarding the repair because "this should have never happened and it probably was not put in right". This was according to the worker, Jose.

I called John and he told me that he would replace the cap and add brackets to the pipe to secure it. John told me he would order the parts and call me back. He never did. Three days later I called him and he told me they were still waiting on the part but it should be in the following week. The following week I received no call backs. I had to call him again. He said he was picking up the part that day and he would send a tech over on Friday between 12:30-1:30PM. No show and no call!  I called John and he gave a lame excuse and apologized...he said he did not pick up the part but was picking it up that day. He said he would call me back to schedule. He never did.

I once again had to call him back and he told me he would send his worker Monday between 12:30-1:30PM. Again NO Call and No show.

I tried to reason with this man and work with him to get this resolved to no avail . I am extremely disappointed by his lack of communication and blatant lies that he would stand by his companies workmanship. I decided I would not pursue this anymore after repeated promises and lies from the owner. I filed a claim with the BBB of Massachusetts and I contacted his liability insurance company because this poses a health risk I the pipe falls off the house again. Now I have to pay someone else to fix his companies mistake!

If you ant to work with a company the produces poor workmanship, does not call you back, sets up appointments and never shows up them this is the company for you!!

The work done by John and his team has exceeded our expectations in every way!
Our yard was a disaster and it was difficult for us to envision it ever being a place we could use.  The yard was so bad, we haven't been able to use it for a few years.
John listened to our wish list and worked within our budget to give us everything we wanted and more!  John was able to dismantle our stone wall (really more like a pile of rocks, than a formal wall) and use those stones to create a beautiful, actual stone wall along the back of our yard.  The stone wall is stunning!  The wall was the talk of the neighborhood as it was being built.  People who didn't see it being built need to be shown "before" pictures to be convinced that it hasn't always been there.  We now have beautiful curved planting beds on both sides of the yard, in addition to a raised planting bed on top of the stone wall.  Can't wait until spring to see everything bloom.
Our new patio is gorgeous!  Bigger than we imagined and beautifully shaped.  It's a neutral beige to coordinate with house color, set off by a slate gray border that really makes it stand out.  The patio is free formed to conform to the natural curves of the yard.  Now, we can sit on the patio and enjoy the entire yard. The curves in the patio form natural groupings for chairs and tables.  John also made sure we had space on the patio for our grill, and still have it out of the way.
We contracted for a new fence around the yard as a separate project.  We used a company recommended by John and we were very pleased with the results and the cost savings.  (Will write a separate review for them.)  The two companies worked well together to coordinate timing of the project so everything flowed smoothly.
From our first meeting with John, we could see that he understood what we wanted and needed, even when we couldn't quite articulate it.  We trusted John and his team and our trust was well founded.  We gave John the parameters of the project, the budget and a couple of requests (for hydrangeas, hostas and a dogwood tree).  John made suggestions for all of the other plantings and we were so confident in John and his team, we left everything else up to them.  The results exceeded our wildest dreams!  We could not be happier.
John, Mike, Nico, Paulie, "little" Mike and the rest of the team (sorry I don't have all their names) are true professionals who take pride in their work, as well they should.  If you've wondered whatever happened to true craftsman of years gone by, well, you haven't met the team from Greenskeeper!  They were dedicated, on-time, courteous, efficient and hard working.
John told us right from the start that the job would not be complete until we were 100% satisfied.  He kept his promise.  We can't say enough good things about John and the Greenskeeper team.  We have already recommended them to family & friends and they will be the only company we consider for any future work on our yard.
